Check Your CM Punjab Laptop Phase II Status: 163,326 Applied, Merit List Not Out Yet
CM Punjab Laptop Phase II had 163,326 applicants and selection was still under process on 10 October 2026. See how to check your status and avoid fake lists.

Short answer: check your CM Punjab Laptop Programme Phase II status by signing in at cmlaptophed.punjab.gov.pk with the email you applied with. On 10 October 2026 the portal showed 163,326 applications, with verification and selection both marked "Under Process". So no Phase II merit list is on the official portal yet, whatever a WhatsApp forward says.
Reports say the first Phase II distribution ceremony, combined with Honhaar scholarships, is planned for 15 October 2026 at the University of Sahiwal, for students of Sahiwal, Okara and Pakpattan. Punjab's Education Minister is reported to have announced it on social media on 9 October. We could not find it on a government website, so treat the date as reported.
We opened the laptop portal and the Higher Education Department's site on 10 October 2026. Here is what they show, and how to check where you stand.
Phase II has 163,326 applicants and no published merit list yet
The portal's own counter is the best guide to where Phase II stands. It was last updated at 05:01 on 10 October 2026, when we read it.

| Round | Applications | Verified | Selected |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phase I | 73,275 | 72,222 | 39,725 |
| Phase II | 163,326 | Under process | Under process |
Two things follow. Phase II drew more than twice as many applicants as Phase I. And in Phase I, only about 54 per cent of applicants got a laptop, on our arithmetic: 39,725 of 73,275. The FAQ on the portal says plainly that a laptop is not guaranteed and selection is on merit.
How to check your CM Punjab laptop status
The portal says applicants are told their status by email and can also check it by signing in. The merit list, when ready, will be shown on the official website and inside each student's account.
- Open cmlaptophed.punjab.gov.pk. Check the address carefully before typing anything.
- Click Sign In and use the email and password you applied with.
- Read the status on your dashboard. "Returned" meant a correction was needed, and that window has closed.
- Check the inbox and spam folder of the email you applied with.
- If your email was wrong, go to the focal person at your college or university, as the portal advises.
- For anything else, contact the programme at cmlaptop@hed.punjab.gov.pk or +92 347 7473138.
Your university's focal person is also the person who will know first when your division's ceremony is fixed. Ask them, not a Facebook page.

The Phase II application, correction and grievance rounds are all closed
The portal's notice board sets out the whole Phase II timeline. Nothing is open for new applicants now.
| Date | Notice on the portal |
|---|---|
| 25 January 2026 | Phase II portal opens, private university students can apply |
| 4 February 2026 | Federal chartered universities included |
| 1 March 2026 | Allama Iqbal Open University included |
| 20 April 2026 | Last date to apply |
| 31 May 2026 | Last date to resubmit returned forms, extended from 3 May |
| 1 to 6 June 2026 | Grievance round for rejected candidates |
If you missed all of these, you cannot join Phase II now. Watch the portal for a later round instead.
Who was eligible for Phase II
Phase II covered first and second semester students admitted in 2025. A Punjab domicile was required, and nobody who already received a laptop from any scheme could apply. The minimum Intermediate marks depended on the programme.
| Programme | Minimum Intermediate marks |
|---|---|
| BS, public, federal chartered or listed private university | 65% |
| BS, non-Muslim students | 55% |
| MBBS and BDS, public colleges | 80% |
| DVM, public sector | 75% |
| BS Nursing, public nursing colleges | 65% |
| Blind students | No marks requirement |
Students of private colleges were not eligible. The laptops are described on the portal as Core i7, 13th generation, with SSD storage.
No fee is charged, so ignore anyone asking for money
The portal's FAQ says there is no application fee. There is also no fee for being on the merit list or receiving a laptop. A message asking you to pay for "delivery", "registration" or a "verification charge" is a scam.
Fake laptop scheme links have circulated before, and some try to take over WhatsApp accounts, as our report on the fake CM Punjab laptop scheme explains. The only official portal is cmlaptophed.punjab.gov.pk.
The earlier promise that Phase II would add NADRA verification is covered in our August report on Phase II. Students hoping for tuition help as well can check where the Honhaar scholarship stands.
