Pakistan Era Launches in Urdu and Welcomes Two Urdu Guides Writers

Pakistan Era team announcement welcoming Urdu guides writers Sana Iqbal (Urdu How-to and Digital Services Writer) and Hamza Nadeem (Urdu Guides and Technology Writer)

Pakistan Era is now in Urdu, at pakera.pk/urdu. Two Urdu guides writers join the team to build it: Sana Iqbal on digital services and Hamza Nadeem on phones and technology.

Today we open our Urdu section. It starts with Urdu versions of the guides our readers use most, such as checking an M-Tag balance, stopping Ufone packages, resetting a JazzCash MPIN and checking a Punjab e-challan, plus Urdu news on the prices and notices that affect your day. Each Urdu guide links to its English version, and each English guide that has an Urdu version now shows a link to it.

Sana and Hamza join the three Urdu journalists who joined earlier today. Together they are a team of five writing in Urdu.

Sana Iqbal: how-to guides and digital services

Sana is approachable, thorough and careful with the small details that confuse readers. Sana's aim is simple: help people finish everyday tasks with confidence.

  • Covers: JazzCash, Easypaisa, money transfers, bill payments, mobile services, online forms, registrations and practical technology guides.
  • Writing approach: reworks our English guides for Urdu readers, explaining the requirements, steps, charges and common errors in short sentences, with useful fixes when something goes wrong.

Hamza Nadeem: Urdu guides and technology

Hamza is patient, curious and practical. Hamza's focus is making everyday technology understandable for readers at every level of digital skill.

  • Covers: phones, SIM services, balance checks, mobile packages, apps, account settings, digital payments and online procedures.
  • Writing approach: adapts our English guides into natural Urdu, explaining each step clearly rather than translating word for word, and keeps app buttons, service names and codes exactly as you see them on your screen.

How our Urdu guides are made

The rules are the same as in English. Every fee, code and deadline is read on the responsible authority's or company's own page before it is published. Where a company does not publish a code, we say so instead of stating it as fact. We write "we tried it" only after one of our writers has actually done it on a real phone. When we get something wrong, we correct it and say so on the page.

Codes, phone numbers and fees stay in ordinary digits (0 to 9), so you can copy them straight into your phone.
