Pakistan stays dry from Tuesday 27 October to Sunday 1 November 2026, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) says, with cold mornings and nights in the north and a chance of rain only around Chitral on 28 and 29 October. The rain PMD had shown for Islamabad and Pothohar on Friday 30 October has gone from its newest outlook.

Skardu fell to minus 1°C on the morning of 26 October, the only reading below zero on PMD's city table that day. Karachi, Thatta, Mithi and Turbat reached 38°C on the same table. Below is the day by day outlook, every big city's range for Tuesday and Wednesday, and what changed since the last forecast.

PMD expects dry weather across Pakistan until 1 November

PMD's weekly outlook issued on 26 October 2026 says continental air is over most of the country. That means dry days everywhere from 27 October to 1 November, partly cloudy skies over the northern hills, and cold mornings and nights there.

Continental air is dry air coming over land rather than from the sea. It brings clear skies, warm afternoons and cold nights, which is the pattern PMD expects all week.

Rain on 30 October has been dropped for Islamabad

The outlook PMD issued on 24 October showed isolated rain and thunderstorm on Friday 30 October in Islamabad, Pothohar, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The outlook of 26 October no longer shows it. Friday is now mainly dry.

That matters if you planned around a wet Friday, for an outdoor wedding, a cricket ticket or spraying crops. The only rain left in the week is around Chitral on Wednesday and Thursday, and PMD calls it likely, not certain. The earlier version is in our report on the weather forecast for 25 to 30 October.

Skardu dropped to minus 1°C and Kalat to 2°C

PMD's lowest temperatures for 26 October show Skardu at minus 1°C, Kalat at 2°C, and Astore and Babusar at 3°C. Quetta, Murree, Gilgit and Malam Jabba were at 7°C. Islamabad was 11°C and Lahore 16°C.

Lowest temperatures in Pakistan on 26 October 2026: Skardu minus 1, Kalat 2, Astore 3, Quetta 7 degrees

PMD has not issued a fog advisory this week. When we opened its motorway fog page on 26 October, the newest entry was dated 28 February 2026. If you drive at night or early morning, the steps in checking PMD's motorway fog update still apply.

Karachi and lower Sindh stay hot at 36 to 38°C

PMD says the daytime will be hot in Sindh. Karachi's forecast high is 36 to 38°C on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Thatta and Mithi the same. Hyderabad is 34 to 36°C and Sukkur 33 to 35°C.

Karachi's morning low was 23°C, so the city has a gap of about 15 degrees between night and afternoon. That is 39 degrees warmer than Skardu's morning, on the same date. Karachi's humidity on PMD's sheet was 29 per cent, which keeps the heat dry rather than sticky.

How each province's forecast reads for Tuesday

PMD's daily forecast, issued at 17:24 on 26 October, gives one line for each region. All seven say dry. The only differences are the cold in the hills and the chance of a shower around Chitral and in parts of Gilgit-Baltistan.

  • Islamabad: dry, cold in the morning and at night.
  • Punjab: dry in most districts, cold in Murree, Galiyat and nearby in the morning and at night.
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: dry, cold in the hills, isolated rain or thunderstorm around Chitral.
  • Sindh: dry, hot in the daytime.
  • Balochistan: dry, cold in the northern districts in the morning and at night.
  • Kashmir: dry, cold in the morning and at night.
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: dry and cold, partly cloudy at isolated places.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 27 October 2026 at about 02:00 PKT. The day by day outlook comes from PMD's weekly outlook, issued 26 October 2026. The province lines and Tuesday and Wednesday ranges come from PMD's daily weather forecast, issued at 17:24 on 26 October, and its 3 days forecast page. The lowest and highest temperatures are from PMD's minimum and maximum temperature tables dated 26 October. The comparison with 24 October is from PMD's earlier outlook as recorded in our report of that day. The 39 degree and 15 degree gaps are our own arithmetic. PMD does not say whether its maximum table shows Sunday's or Monday's afternoon, so we call it the 26 October table. Forecasts change daily, so check the latest issue before you travel.
