Short answer: Serene Air's lowest domestic bundle gives you 20 kg of checked baggage in one piece plus 7 kg of hand carry. The middle bundle gives 40 kg in two pieces and the Serene Plus bundle 80 kg with up to 12 kg of hand carry. Excess baggage on a domestic flight costs Rs 150 a kilogram at the airport. On flights to the UAE and Saudi Arabia the cheapest fare carries no checked bag at all.

We read the Serene Air baggage allowance page on sereneair.com on 19 October 2026. Serene Air is a private Pakistani airline that flies Boeing 737 and Airbus A330 aircraft between Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta, and to Dubai, Sharjah, Jeddah, Medina, Riyadh and Beijing. The figures below are the airline's own, and the airline says fares and bundles are subject to change, so check your ticket before you pack.

Domestic flights carry 20, 40 or 80 kg depending on the bundle

Serene Air sells three domestic baggage bundles. The first is 20 kg in one piece, the second is 40 kg in two pieces with no piece over 32 kg, and the third is 80 kg in any number of pieces. Hand carry is 7 kg on the first two and up to 12 kg on the third.

Serene Air domestic baggage bundles: 20 kg, 40 kg and 80 kg checked, with 7 or 12 kg hand carry

The airline's page does not say in plain words which fare name goes with which domestic bundle. On its international tables the same three tiers are called Free, Economy Regular and Serene Plus, so the likely reading is that the 20 kg tier is the basic fare, 40 kg is Economy Regular and 80 kg is Serene Plus. Your booking confirmation states your own allowance, and that is the figure the check-in desk uses.

Domestic bundleChecked baggageHand carry
Basic (20 kg tier)20 kg in 1 piece7 kg
Middle (40 kg tier)40 kg in 2 pieces, none over 32 kg7 kg
Serene Plus (80 kg tier)80 kg in any number of piecesUp to 12 kg
Infant10 kg checked onlyNone

A 32 kg limit on a single piece is standard across airlines because baggage handlers cannot lift more. If your single suitcase weighs 35 kg you will be asked to split it even if your total allowance is 40 kg. On the 80 kg tier the page does not repeat the 32 kg rule, but we would not test it.

Excess baggage costs Rs 150 a kg inside Pakistan

Serene Air charges Rs 150 for every kilogram above your allowance on a domestic flight. On flights from Pakistan to the UAE or Saudi Arabia the rate is Rs 1,100 a kg, and to China it is Rs 3,500 a kg. Coming back, the charge is in the local currency: AED 30, SAR 30 or CNY 200 a kg.

So a passenger on the 20 kg domestic tier who turns up with 28 kg pays 8 times Rs 150, which is Rs 1,200. That is often less than the fare gap to the 40 kg bundle, so for a few extra kilos the airport charge can be the cheaper route. For 15 kg or more over, buying the higher bundle at booking is usually the better deal, though you will have to compare the two fares yourself at booking time, because the airline does not publish the bundle price difference as a fixed figure.

The cheapest Gulf fare has no checked bag

On flights from Pakistan to the UAE and to Riyadh, Serene Air lists a "NIL" fare with no checked baggage and 7 kg of hand carry only. Above that sit Free with 20 kg in one piece, Economy Regular with 40 kg in two pieces, and Serene Plus with 80 kg in three pieces on the A330.

Flying back from the Gulf the ladder is a little different. From the UAE and Riyadh there is a 30 kg Economy Lite tier, and from Riyadh an Economy Value tier of 60 kg. Serene Plus with 80 kg is sold on the A330 but is marked not available on the smaller Boeing 737, so the aircraft on your date decides whether the top tier exists at all.

Jeddah is the odd one out. From Pakistan to Jeddah the page lists only Economy Regular at 40 kg on both aircraft and Serene Plus at 80 kg on the A330. From Jeddah to Pakistan you get Free at 20 kg, Economy Regular at 40 kg, and Serene Plus at 80 kg on the A330 only. For Beijing, the two tiers are 50 kg in two pieces and 80 kg in three pieces. If you are weighing up airlines, the baggage allowance of each airline flying from Pakistan sits in one table.

Hand carry is 7 kg and 45 inches, and a laptop is extra

Hand carry is limited to 7 kg with length plus width plus height of no more than 45 inches. A laptop does not count toward the 7 kg. On the Serene Plus tier hand carry goes up to 12 kg. Checked bags must not exceed 54 inches in total dimensions.

Spare lithium batteries for phones, cameras and laptops must stay out of checked baggage and travel in the cabin. That is the same rule every airline applies, and the power bank rules on flights from Pakistan explain the limits. Liquids, creams, gels and oils in hand luggage must be in containers of 100 ml or less.

Infants have no baggage allowance on the first two tiers, but a baby cot or pram is carried free. On the Serene Plus tier an infant gets 10 kg of checked baggage. A guitar is charged as a separate piece on international flights. Televisions must be 54 inches or smaller after packing and count as baggage.

Claim a lost bag within 14 days with the form and the tag

If your bag does not arrive, report it at the Serene Air office in the arrival hall before you leave the airport, keep your baggage tag, and file the airline's Baggage Claim Form within 14 days of the date the bag should have arrived. Claims without the form can be rejected.

Serene Air's passenger rights page caps its liability for lost or damaged baggage on a domestic flight at Rs 1,000 per kilogram, and on an international flight at 1,000 Special Drawing Rights, which is the IMF unit the Montreal Convention uses. Receipts for what was inside the bag strengthen a claim. The airline says it is not liable for valuables packed in checked baggage, so cash, jewellery and electronics belong in the cabin.

  1. Before you leave the arrival hall, go to the airline desk and fill in a Property Irregularity Report.
  2. Keep your boarding pass and the baggage tag sticker you were given at check-in.
  3. Download and submit the Baggage Claim Form within 14 days, attaching the report number.
  4. Email ll@sereneair.com if the airport office has not replied, quoting the report number.
  5. Keep receipts for essentials you bought while the bag was delayed, in case the airline reimburses them.

If the airline does not resolve it, the lost baggage claim route in Pakistan goes through the airline first and then the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read Serene Air's baggage policy page at sereneair.com/policy_baggage, its travel policy at sereneair.com/policy_travel and its passenger rights page at sereneair.com/rights_pax on 19 October 2026. Every weight, dimension and per kilogram charge above comes from those pages. The airline does not state in words which domestic fare name carries which baggage tier, so the fare names in the domestic table are our reading of the international tables, not the airline's words. We could not read the bundle price difference between tiers, because fares change by date. A promotion giving an extra 20 kg from the UAE was listed as valid to 30 September 2025 and has expired.
