Passport Fee Calculator

People turn up at the bank with the wrong challan more often than you would think. Pick your four options and get the exact fee DGIP charges, plus how long that processing speed actually takes.

Fee payable

Rs 9,000

E-passport, 36 pages, 5 years, normal processing

Delivery about 10 working days

Fees are set nationwide by DGIP and have not changed since 2023, so the office you apply at does not affect the price. Working days exclude weekends and public holidays. Combinations DGIP does not offer are hidden rather than estimated.

What the fee does and does not cover

The figure above is the government fee paid by challan. It does not include photographs, transport, or any agent charging to stand in a queue for you. Nothing else is payable at the office.

Two things decide the price more than anything else: validity and processing speed. If you are over 18, a 10 year passport almost always beats buying two 5 year ones. And fast track roughly triples the fee to save about a week, which is worth it far less often than people assume.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Pakistani passport cost?

An MRP costs Rs 4,500 for 36 pages valid 5 years and Rs 6,700 for 10 years. An e-passport costs Rs 9,000 and Rs 13,500 for the same terms. Urgent and fast track processing cost more.

Is the passport fee different in different cities?

No. DGIP sets fees nationwide, so the office you apply at does not change what you pay.

How much is an urgent passport in Pakistan?

Urgent processing on a 36 page e-passport valid 5 years is Rs 13,500, against Rs 9,000 for normal. Every combination has its own urgent rate.

Have passport fees increased recently?

No. The fee schedule has been unchanged since 2023. Any increase would come through a new DGIP notification.

Is fast track worth the money?

Only when a visa appointment or job start date genuinely depends on it. Fast track can cost close to triple the normal fee to save about a week.
