eBiz Punjab, at ebiz.punjab.gov.pk, is the Punjab government's online portal for the licences and permits a business needs. You pick your business type, upload your documents once, pay fees online, and the system works out which approvals you need and sends your file to each authority. The government says no office visit is needed.

Most small business owners in Punjab know the pattern. One office for a registration, another for a licence, a third for a building map. eBiz Punjab is the province's attempt to put that into one online file. This guide explains what the government says the portal does, what a land check means, and what we could and could not confirm.

eBiz Punjab is a one-stop portal for business approvals

eBiz Punjab is a single digital platform for the whole life of a business approval: registrations, licences, certificates and other permits. The Punjab Portal calls these RLCOs. It includes land use conversion, map approval and building construction, plus online payment.

The Punjab Portal says eBiz takes a business-oriented approach. That means it starts from the business you want to run, not from a list of separate permits. It is listed among the government's flagship projects. The portal's address is ebiz.punjab.gov.pk, and the page we read does not name who operates it. We saw the address answer when we loaded it, but we did not log in or file an application.

eBiz Punjab is a single online window for business permits

You enter documents once and the system finds the permits

You choose a business type, enter your details and upload your documents one time. The system then identifies every registration, licence or permit your business needs and sends each application to the right approving authority. The Punjab Portal says this happens without manual intervention.

StageWhat the Punjab Portal says happens
ChooseApplicant selects the business type
UploadCredentials and documents entered once
PayAll fees paid online
MatchSystem lists every permit the business needs
RouteEach application goes to its approving authority
TrackReal time status, notifications and alerts

The portal page does not list the business types, fees or approval times. It also does not say which departments are connected today. Those details sit inside the portal. A claim of "all permits in one place" should be read as the government's goal, and we cannot confirm every connection works.

How an eBiz Punjab application moves from business type to approval

The land check uses a KML file

The portal can tell you whether your chosen business is allowed on a plot before you apply. You upload a KML file, which is a small map file that marks the plot's position and boundary. Google Earth and many phone mapping apps can save one.

The Punjab Portal says eBiz extracts the land data from that file and gives instant feedback on whether the business activity is permissible on that land parcel. That could save a fee on a plot that will be refused. It is still a portal check. Before you buy or lease land for a business, also confirm the land use with the local authority. The steps to check a housing society is approved in Punjab show the kind of local confirmation that matters on residential land.

  1. Decide your business type and the plot you plan to use.
  2. Save the plot's boundary as a KML file from a mapping app.
  3. Open ebiz.punjab.gov.pk and choose the business type.
  4. Enter your details and upload documents once.
  5. Upload the KML file and read the land use result.
  6. Pay fees online and watch the status alerts.

Those steps are our reading of the Punjab Portal's description. The portal's own screens may order them differently.

eBiz sits beside the Business Facilitation Centres

Punjab also runs Business Facilitation Centres in six cities for people who prefer to apply in person. The Punjab Business Facilitation Centre list shows where they are and what they handle. eBiz is the online route, and the centres are the walk-in route.

Some approvals are outside both. A food business still needs its own licence, which is covered in the steps to apply for a Punjab Food Authority licence. A building plan can go through the development authority, as explained in LDA building plan approval online. Check whether the portal covers your permit before you rely on it for all of them.

Common questions about eBiz Punjab

Is eBiz Punjab free?

The Punjab Portal says fees are paid online but does not list them. Each permit has its own fee, so the total depends on your business type.

Do I have to visit a government office?

The Punjab Portal says no physical visit is needed. Submission, payment, processing and approval are all online, and documents are shared online.

What is a KML file?

It is a small map file that stores a place or a plot boundary. You can export one from Google Earth or a mapping app on your phone.

Does eBiz replace the Business Facilitation Centres?

No. The Punjab government runs both. eBiz is the online portal and the centres are offices where you apply in person.

Can I track my application?

Yes, according to the Punjab Portal. It says progress is tracked in real time, with status updates, notifications and alerts. We did not test this.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 14 October 2026. The description of eBiz Punjab comes from the eBiz Punjab page on the Punjab Portal. We confirmed that ebiz.punjab.gov.pk answers, but we did not log in, apply or test the land check. The business types, fees and connected departments are not published on that page.
