Ireland Visit Visa From Pakistan: €60 Fee, About 8 Weeks, and a UK Visa Does Not Count
Ireland visit visa from Pakistan: €60 single or €100 multi entry, apply on AVATS, post originals within 30 days, decision in about 8 weeks. See the full steps.

A Pakistani visiting Ireland needs a short stay "C" visa for up to 90 days. It costs €60 for a single entry or €100 for multiple entries, the fee is not refunded, and Irish immigration says to expect a decision in about 8 weeks. You apply online, then post your original documents within 30 days.
Ireland is not part of the Schengen area, so a Schengen visa does not get you in. A UK visit visa does not either, for a Pakistani passport. We read the Irish Immigration Service Delivery pages on the short stay C visa and the visa fees on 20 October 2026. Everything below comes from those pages unless we say otherwise.
The Ireland visit visa costs €60 single entry or €100 multi entry
Irish immigration charges €60 for a single entry visa, €100 for a multiple entry visa and €25 for a transit visa. The fee is an administration charge. It is not refunded if your application is refused or withdrawn, and extra local charges may apply.
| Visa type | Fee | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Single entry C visa | €60 | One trip of up to 90 days |
| Multi entry C visa | €100 | Several trips within the visa's validity |
| Transit visa | €25 | Passing through an Irish airport |
Pakistan is not on the list of nationalities that are exempt from the fee. The list has 16 countries, including Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Kyrgyzstan. Spouses and children under 18 of Irish citizens are exempt, and so are qualifying family members of EU citizens who travel with them.

Plan the money early. The fee is small, but courier costs to send original papers abroad can add up, and none of it comes back after a refusal.
A UK visa does not let a Pakistani visit Ireland
Ireland's Short Stay Visa Waiver Programme lets some nationals use a UK visit visa to enter Ireland. Pakistan is not on the eligible list. So a Pakistani with a valid UK visit visa still needs a separate Irish visa before going.
The eligible countries include India, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Türkiye and some Gulf states. Pakistan does not appear in any column of the table we read. This catches families who visit relatives in England and plan a short trip to Dublin on the same holiday.
If you are planning the UK leg as well, the fees and papers are in our note on the UK visit visa from Pakistan. Treat the two as separate applications with separate fees.
You apply online on AVATS, then post your original papers
The application has three parts. You fill in the AVATS online form, pay the fee as the summary form tells you, and send the signed summary form with your supporting documents. The papers must reach the office within 30 days of creating the online application.
- Fill in the AVATS online form fully and honestly, one application for each person.
- Print the Summary Application Form it creates, then sign and date it.
- Pay the visa fee in the way the summary form explains.
- Put your original documents in a strong padded envelope and send them to the office named on the form.
- Do this within 30 days of creating the online application, or it will not be processed.

Ireland does not issue family visas or e-visas. Every traveller, including a child, needs a separate application. A parent or legal guardian applies for anyone under 18.
Pakistan is not named on the list of Irish visa offices abroad that we read. The Abu Dhabi office takes applications from the UAE, Afghanistan and other Gulf and Arab states, and New Delhi takes India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. For a country that is not listed, the page says to contact the nearest Irish embassy or the Dublin head office. Follow whatever office your AVATS summary form names.
Originals, attested papers and past refusals decide the file
Irish immigration wants original documents, not photocopies, and full certified English translations of anything in Urdu. Pakistani official papers such as birth and marriage certificates must be attested or apostilled by Pakistan's foreign ministry. Hiding a past visa refusal gets the application refused.
The required list includes your passport, photographs, medical or travel insurance, an application letter, the signed summary sheets, any invitation letter, a holiday plan, proof of the fee payment, a finance plan and proof of your ties to Pakistan. You must also give details of every past visa refusal, from any country.
Letters from a company or organisation have strict rules. They must be originals on official headed paper with a landline number, a website, an email address and a named contact. Mobile numbers are not accepted. Yahoo and Hotmail addresses are not accepted. Electronic signatures are not accepted either.
For the attestation part, the difference between the two stamps is set out in apostille or attestation for Pakistani documents. Do not send papers on a USB stick or a Dropbox link. Only hard copies count.
False or misleading documents can lead to a refusal with no right of appeal and a five year bar on Irish visas. That is a heavy price for an inflated bank statement.
Expect about 8 weeks, and appeal within 2 months if refused
Irish immigration says most applicants get a decision within about 8 weeks of the office receiving the papers. A refusal comes with written reasons. You can usually appeal free of charge within 2 months of the date on the refusal letter, and only once.
| Stage | Time limit |
|---|---|
| When to apply | About 3 months before travel |
| Posting your documents | Within 30 days of the online form |
| Usual decision time | About 8 weeks after receipt |
| Appeal after a refusal | Within 2 months of the letter |
The Dublin visa office publishes its decisions and processing dates every Tuesday. The page we read was updated on 13 October 2026. If another office handles your file, contact that office instead.

Irish immigration does not speed up applications for ordinary trips. It may help in a real emergency, such as a family member in hospital, a life threatening situation or a death, through its Customer Service Portal, with proof such as a doctor's letter.
One practical point: applications sent to Ireland can only be returned to an address in the UK or Ireland. If you post papers to Dublin from Pakistan, arrange a courier to collect your passport and documents. Do not buy flights until you have the visa. Even then, an officer at the border can still refuse entry.
If you are a student rather than a visitor, the rules change completely, and the Ireland student visa from Pakistan has its own funds test and fees.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read four Irish Immigration Service Delivery pages on 20 October 2026: the short stay C visa page, the preclearance and entry visa fees page, the Short Stay Visa Waiver Programme page, and the visa offices page, which was last updated on 22 May 2026. We also read the Dublin visa decisions page, updated 13 October 2026. We could not confirm which office handles Pakistani applications, because Pakistan is not named on the visa offices page, or what extra courier or service charges apply. Follow the office named on your AVATS summary form.
