BISE Peshawar charges Rs 1,500 a paper for re-totaling, Rs 1,000 a paper to see your answer sheet, and Rs 600 for inter grace marks, all applied for online at bisep.edu.pk. For the inter (HSSC) Annual-I 2026 result, re-totaling closed on 6 October and the show of paper window ran to 20 October. Inter grace marks stay open until the Annual-II exam begins on 18 November 2026.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Peshawar runs these services on fixed windows after every result. Miss the window and the board says your application "shall not be entertained". We read both 2026 notifications, for matric and for inter, on the board's site on 20 October 2026. Here is what each service does, what it costs and how to use it next time.

BISE Peshawar's four result services and their 2026 fees

BISE Peshawar offers four services after a result: re-totaling, show of paper, grace marks and an appeal against an unfair means (UFM) decision. Inter fees in 2026 were Rs 1,500, Rs 1,000, Rs 600 and Rs 2,000. Matric fees were partly lower.

ServiceInter (HSSC A-I 2026)Matric (SSC A-I 2026)

Grace marksRs 600, until HSSC Annual-II startsRs 300, until SSC Annual-II starts

The matric notice also gave a result date for re-totaling and UFM appeals: 25 August 2026, six days after the window closed. The inter notice did not give one.

Re-totaling checks the count, the show of paper lets you see it

Re-totaling means the board adds up the marks on your answer sheet again and checks they were carried to the result correctly. Show of paper lets you see your own answer sheet. At BISE Peshawar you can only ask to see a paper you already applied to re-total.

The inter notice says this plainly: "Only those candidates shall be eligible for show of paper(s) who have already applied for re-totaling." So the order matters. If you skip re-totaling in the first window, you lose the chance to see the paper later.

Neither notice promises a fresh marking of your answers. If you think a question was marked unfairly, rather than added up wrongly, the show of paper is where you can see it with your own eyes. That is why it is worth the extra Rs 1,000 when the gap is large.

How to apply for re-totaling at BISE Peshawar

Apply online at bisep.edu.pk inside the window, choose each paper, then pay through Easypaisa or a bank receipt generated online and paid at any ABL or MCB branch. Applications after the last date are refused.

  1. Watch bisep.edu.pk for the re-totaling notification after your result. In 2026 the matric window opened the day after the result.
  2. Open the online application and enter your roll number.
  3. Select every paper you want re-totaled. The fee is per paper.
  4. Pay through Easypaisa, or print the online bank receipt and pay at an Allied Bank or MCB branch.
  5. Keep the payment receipt and application number.
  6. If the window for show of paper opens, apply again for the papers you want to see.

Grace marks stay open until the supplementary exam starts

The grace marks window is the longest of the four. For inter it runs from 22 September until the HSSC Annual-II exam begins, which BISE Peshawar has set for 18 November 2026. For matric it ran until the SSC Annual-II exam, now restarting on 22 October.

Grace marks are the few extra marks a board can add to help a student who has narrowly failed. The notices give the fee but not the rules on who qualifies or how many marks. If you are short by a few marks in one paper, ask the board before you also apply for the Annual-II exam. The BISE Peshawar inter Annual-II exam has its own forms and late fee steps.

Matric students should note the timing. The revised SSC Annual-II date sheet starts on 22 October 2026, so the matric grace marks window closes then.

A court-ordered review shows why the check matters

A class 9 student given zero in Biology by BISE Peshawar was later awarded 72 marks after his paper was examined on the Peshawar High Court's directions, his lawyer said in October 2026. The family's earlier rechecking request had not changed the result.

This account comes from the student's lawyer and was reported in the press. We have not seen the court order or the board's response, so we cannot say what went wrong. But it makes one practical point. If a mark looks impossible, such as a zero in a paper you sat in full, use re-totaling and show of paper inside the window, and keep every receipt. Those papers are your record if you need to go further.

Students in Punjab use a different process. Our note on rechecking an inter result in Punjab covers the Punjab boards' fees and dates.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the BISE Peshawar notifications list on 20 October 2026 and opened two files: the HSSC Annual-I 2026 notification No. 213, dated 22 September 2026, and the SSC Annual-I 2026 notification No. 21127, dated 4 August 2026. Exam start dates come from the board's later notices, which we covered when they were issued. The court case is reported and not confirmed from a court record. We did not find written rules on who qualifies for grace marks.
