The CDA bus to Daman-e-Koh is route ST-01. It leaves PIMS Hospital at 9:10 am and then every hour until 5:10 pm, stops at Faisal Masjid on the way, and reaches Daman-e-Koh about 40 minutes later. CDA's route table marks it as a Saturday and Sunday service. For Faisal Masjid on a weekday, route FR-03A runs from PIMS every 10 minutes, and route ST-02 covers Shakarparian at weekends.

We read the Capital Development Authority's (CDA) transit map page and opened the timetable files for ST-01, ST-02 and FR-03A on 25 October 2026. Below are the stops, the times both ways, and the last bus down the hill, which is the one people miss.

Three CDA buses reach Islamabad's main sights

ST-01 goes to Daman-e-Koh, ST-02 passes Shakarparian Park on its way to Capt. Naeem Tufail Shaheed Chowk, and FR-03A serves Faisal Masjid all week. Both ST routes run once an hour; FR-03A comes every 10 minutes in its timetable file.

These are three of the 22 routes CDA publishes. All of them start or pass near PIMS Hospital, which is also where the busy PIMS to Barakahu route begins.

CDA weekend bus routes to Daman-e-Koh, Shakarparian and Faisal Masjid in Islamabad

ST-01 reaches Daman-e-Koh in about 40 minutes from PIMS

The first ST-01 leaves PIMS Hospital at 9:10 am and arrives at Daman-e-Koh at about 9:50 am. Later buses leave PIMS at ten past each hour, the last at 5:10 pm. CDA's file shows nine trips each way.

ST-01 stopFirst bus arrives
PIMS Hospital9:10 am
Faisal Morh F-7/F-89:14 am
F-8 Markaz9:19 am
F-9 Park9:21 am
Shaheen Chowk9:23 am
Faisal Masjid9:31 am
Kohsar Road / F-7 Markaz9:37 am
Murghzar Zoo9:40 am
Daman-e-Koh9:50 am

From Murghzar Zoo the bus takes about 10 more minutes to reach Daman-e-Koh. If you plan to walk one of the Margalla trails afterwards, the Margalla Hills trail distances help you judge whether you will be back for a bus.

The last ST-01 down from Daman-e-Koh leaves at 6:10 pm

The return leaves Daman-e-Koh at 10:10 am and then every hour, with the last bus at 6:10 pm. It reaches Faisal Masjid about 18 minutes later and PIMS about 40 minutes after leaving the top.

Miss the 6:10 pm and you are on foot or in a taxi. In winter the light goes well before that, so the 4:10 pm or 5:10 pm bus is the safer choice. If you do call a ride, you can verify an Islamabad taxi driver on the police app before you get in.

ST-02 stops at Shakarparian Park about 17 minutes from PIMS

ST-02 leaves PIMS at 9:10 am and then every hour until 5:10 pm. It runs via TNT, Zero Point, CDA and Abpara, and reaches Shakarparian Park at about 9:27 am on the first trip. It then carries on past Rawal Town and the Rawal Dam colonies to COMSATS University and Capt. Naeem Tufail Shaheed Chowk, about 53 minutes from PIMS.

Coming back, ST-02 leaves Capt. Naeem Tufail Shaheed Chowk at 10:10 am and hourly until 6:10 pm. The first return passes Kashmir Chowk at about 10:39 am, Abpara at 10:45 am and Shakarparian Park at about 10:52 am. Its return route is not quite the same as the outbound one, so check the stop name in the "Backward" file.

FR-03A serves Faisal Masjid every day, every 10 minutes

FR-03A's timetable file runs from PIMS Hospital via PIMS Metro Station, Katchery, F-8 Markaz, F-9 Park, Shaheen Chowk, Bahria University and the Naval Complex to Faisal Masjid in about 21 minutes. It then continues to Parveen Shakir Road, Kohsar Road, F-7 Markaz and Flower Market.

The file shows the first bus at 6:00 am and 97 trips a day, every 10 minutes, so a weekday visit to the mosque needs no planning. One caution: CDA's route list calls FR-03A "PIMS to Saidpur Village" every 20 minutes, while the timetable file ends at Flower Market. If you are going to Saidpur Village, ask the conductor before boarding.

How to plan a weekend trip on the CDA buses

The weekend buses come once an hour, so build the day around the return times. A simple plan, using CDA's files:

  1. Take FR-03A or any route that reaches PIMS Hospital before 9:10 am, or before ten past any later hour.
  2. Board ST-01 at PIMS, Faisal Morh, F-8 Markaz or Shaheen Chowk.
  3. Get off at Faisal Masjid, or ride on to Murghzar Zoo or Daman-e-Koh.
  4. Note the return bus at ten past the hour from Daman-e-Koh, with the last at 6:10 pm.
  5. For Shakarparian, switch to ST-02, which passes the park at about 27 minutes past each hour.

CDA does not print a fare on its route page or in these files, and we could not confirm one from an official source. Carry small change and ask the conductor.

Steps to plan a weekend trip to Daman-e-Koh by CDA bus

Common questions

Is there a bus to Daman-e-Koh?

Yes. CDA route ST-01 runs from PIMS Hospital to Daman-e-Koh every hour from 9:10 am to 5:10 pm on Saturday and Sunday, according to CDA's route table.

Does the Daman-e-Koh bus run on weekdays?

CDA's route table marks ST-01 and ST-02 as Saturday and Sunday services only. On weekdays, FR-03A still reaches Faisal Masjid, but not Daman-e-Koh.

Which bus goes to Faisal Masjid from PIMS?

FR-03A, every 10 minutes from 6:00 am, about 21 minutes from PIMS Hospital. At weekends ST-01 also stops at Faisal Masjid.

What time is the last bus from Daman-e-Koh?

6:10 pm, the last ST-01 return trip in CDA's file. It reaches PIMS at about 6:50 pm.

Does the bus stop at Lok Virsa or Pakistan Monument?

Neither name appears as a stop in the ST-01, ST-02 or FR-03A files we read. ST-02's nearest named stop for that area is Shakarparian Park.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read CDA's transit map of Islamabad on 25 October 2026 and opened the forward and backward timetable files for ST-01, ST-02 and FR-03A, including the ST-01 forward file. The Saturday and Sunday marking comes from the route table's schedule code on that page. Times are from the first trip and rounded. We could not confirm fares, or whether FR-03A still reaches Saidpur Village.
