To check your Emirates ID status, open ICP's application tracking at smartservices.icp.gov.ae, or the UAEICP app, and search with the application number from your receipt together with the email used when applying. The result shows each step on the file with a date, which tells you whether the card is waiting for fingerprints, printing or delivery.

Most Pakistani workers in the UAE never apply for the card themselves. The employer, a typing centre or the PRO does it, and the receipt with the application number stays with them. So the first step is getting that number. Below you will find how the tracking works, what delays a card, how delivery happens, and what a lost card costs to replace. We read the UAE government's Emirates ID page and ICP's service pages on 31 October 2026.

Track the Emirates ID with the application number and email

ICP's guest tracking needs no login. It is built around the application number, also called the request number, plus the email address on the application and a picture check. The same tracker covers visa and Emirates ID applications made through ICP.

  1. Open smartservices.icp.gov.ae and choose application tracking as a guest.
  2. Type the application number from the receipt or confirmation email.
  3. Enter the email address used when applying.
  4. Pass the picture check and search.
  5. Read the last action on the file and its date.

If a typing centre applied, the email is often theirs, not yours. Ask them for both the number and the email, or ask them to run the search while you watch.

Steps to check Emirates ID status on ICP application tracking

Fingerprints, a medical and the residence permit come first

An Emirates ID application that stops moving is usually waiting on something else. ICP requires fingerprints and a signature at its service centres for everyone aged 15 and over. For residents, the card is tied to the residence permit and a medical test with a Fit result.

  • Biometrics: ICP says biometrics must be done within the set period, or the application is cancelled.
  • Returned for changes: an application sent back for corrections is cancelled if the fixes are not made in time.
  • Residence link: outside Dubai, the card is renewed with the residence through one unified form. ICP lists the residence permit as a service the card depends on.
  • Passport: ICP wants a passport valid for at least 3 months.

So if the tracker shows no movement for days, check whether you were called for fingerprints, or whether the medical and residence steps are finished.

Standard cards come by courier, urgent cards are collected

ICP says a card on the standard service is delivered by its authorised courier. A card on the urgent service is collected from an ICP centre. The UAE portal says the urgent service can issue a card within 24 hours, but it starts only in person at a centre.

ServiceHow you get the cardFee on ICP's page
Standard, residentCourier deliveryAED 100 per year of residence, plus AED 100 smart service fee
UrgentCollect from an ICP centreAED 150 extra
Lost or damaged cardNew card, same validityAED 300, plus AED 100 smart service fee
Replacement for a data changeAt an ICP centreAED 150

A courier has to reach you, so the phone number and address in ICP's records matter. A Pakistani worker who has changed SIM or room since applying should update them first. ICP lets you update the phone number, email and address through your personal account on the ICP site or app, which needs a UAE Pass login.

Emirates ID fees for standard, urgent and lost card replacement in the UAE

Report a lost Emirates ID within 7 days

The UAE portal says a lost card must be reported to ICP within 7 days. A change in personal details must be reported within one month. ICP's replacement page lists a fine of AED 20 for each day of delay in reporting a change, capped at AED 1,000.

The replacement card carries the same validity as the lost one. Apply on the ICP website or app, or at a service centre, with a personal photo and your passport. If you are 15 or older, expect another fingerprint visit.

One more rule protects workers directly. The UAE portal says it is against the law to seize another person's Emirates ID, and companies may not hold their employees' cards. If an employer keeps yours, the portal says the case can go to the judicial authorities. A MOHRE labour complaint is the usual first route for wage and contract disputes.

When the Emirates ID status does not show

A blank result usually means the number or the email does not match. Check both with whoever applied. If they match and the search still fails, call ICP on 600522222 inside the UAE, or +971600522222 from Pakistan.

  • Dubai residents: residence files in Dubai are handled by GDRFA Dubai, so a stuck residence step may need GDRFA, not ICP.
  • Typing slips: type the application number by hand. Copying from a message can add spaces.
  • Old application: a cancelled application will not move. Ask whether it was cancelled for missed biometrics.

For a renewal that is due, the rules on the Emirates ID renewal window and late fee apply. For a visa rather than a card, use the UAE visa status check instead.

Common questions

How can I check my Emirates ID status online?

Use ICP's application tracking at smartservices.icp.gov.ae or the UAEICP app, with the application number and the email used when applying.

Can I check Emirates ID status by passport number?

ICP's guest tracker works with the application number and email, not the passport number. Ask the employer or typing centre for the receipt.

How is the Emirates ID delivered?

ICP says standard cards go by its authorised courier. Urgent cards are collected from an ICP centre.

How much does a lost Emirates ID cost to replace?

ICP lists AED 300 for a replacement, plus a smart service fee of AED 100, and AED 150 more for the urgent service.

Can my employer keep my Emirates ID?

No. The UAE portal says companies are not allowed to withhold their employees' Emirates ID cards.

What is the ICP number from Pakistan?

ICP lists +971600522222 for callers outside the UAE and 600522222 inside the UAE.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 31 October 2026. We read the UAE portal's Emirates ID page (updated 17 February 2026) and ICP's service pages for a new card, renewal, replacement and data update on icp.gov.ae on that date, plus ICP's guest tracking page. Fees and time limits come from those pages. The tracking fields come from the tracking page's own code, because the form draws only in a browser. We did not track a real application, so we have not seen the status wording.
