Pakistan beat India by four wickets at the Hong Kong Sixes on Friday 30 October 2026, chasing 89 in just 3.5 overs. Captain Abbas Afridi hit 35 off 8 balls, including five sixes in a row, and Khawaja Nafay finished on 41 not out off 12.
India made 88 for 5 in their six overs, with Shashank Singh scoring 40 off 11 balls. Pakistan reached 91 for 2 with 13 balls to spare. Afridi was named player of the match. We read the organisers' match report on hongkongsixes.live on the night of 30 October, Pakistan time, and turned every Hong Kong time below into Pakistan time.
The win matters because Pakistan lost their first match of the day. So Saturday decides whether the defending champions reach the Cup semi-finals or drop to the Plate.
Pakistan chased 89 in 3.5 overs to beat India
Pakistan needed 89 from six overs and got there in 23 balls. Abbas Afridi took 31 runs from Krunal Pandya's opening over with five straight sixes. Pakistan added 28 more off T. Natarajan and were 73 for 1 after three overs.
Afridi opened the batting with wicketkeeper Khawaja Nafay. Shashank Singh, bowling the fourth over, finally removed Afridi for 35 off eight balls. That wicket changed nothing. Nafay kept hitting and finished on 41 not out off 12 balls, with two fours and five sixes. Irfan Khan hit the winning runs.
Pakistan finished on 91 for 2. The organisers' text says Pakistan reached 89, but their own match summary gives 91 for 2, so the winning shot went past the target. Six-a-side matches end at five wickets or six overs, which is why two wickets down counts as a four-wicket win.

India made 88 for 5 after Shashank Singh's 40 off 11
India scored 88 for 5 in six overs. Shashank Singh carried the innings with 40 off 11 balls. Pakistan's bowlers struck at the right moments, and India lost four batters in the last two overs, one of them retired out.
Afridi won the toss and chose to bowl. Muhammad Shahzad struck in the second over when he removed Rahul Tripathi for 9. Shashank then took 16 off three balls in the same over. Afridi bowled the third over himself and gave away 11 runs, with four dot balls against Nitish Rana.
Shashank hit 24 in the fourth over, with three sixes and a four. India then retired Nitish Rana, who was stuck on 19 off 14 balls. Abdul Samad removed Rahul Tewatia first ball, and Krunal Pandya fell next ball for a second golden duck. Ahmed Daniyal then dismissed Shashank with the first ball of the last over.
| Team | Score | Top batter | Best bowling |
|---|---|---|---|
| India | 88 for 5, 6 overs | Shashank Singh 40 (11) | Abdul Samad 1 for 10 |
| Pakistan | 91 for 2, 3.5 overs | Khawaja Nafay 41* (12) | Shashank Singh 1 for 14 |
Result: Pakistan won by four wickets. Player of the match: Abbas Afridi, 35 off 8.
Pakistan lost the opening match to the UAE
Pakistan played the UAE first, at 7:35 am PKT on Friday. The organisers have not posted that scorecard. Their India report calls this win Pakistan's first of the tournament, and says all three Group C sides would tie on points if India beat the UAE.
That can only happen if the UAE won the opening game. So Pakistan have one win and one loss, the UAE have one win, and India have one loss. We could not read the margin or the scores of the UAE match on any official page, so we do not give them here.
Saturday's UAE vs India match decides Pakistan's place
The UAE play India at 10:35 am Hong Kong time on Saturday 31 October, which is 7:35 am in Pakistan. If the UAE win, they top Group C and Pakistan finish second. If India win, all three teams are level and the most sixes decide it.
The organisers gave the sixes count after Friday: Pakistan 23 from two matches, the UAE 12 from one, and India 7 from one. That gives Pakistan a big cushion. Our arithmetic: the UAE would need 12 more sixes against India to pass Pakistan, and India would need 17.
- UAE beat India: UAE first, Pakistan second, so Pakistan play a Plate semi-final.
- India beat UAE: three teams on one win each, and the most sixes in the group wins it.
- If Pakistan stay top on sixes, they play a Cup semi-final the same afternoon.

Pakistan's semi-final times on Saturday are set
The fixture list fixes Pakistan's Saturday slot by where they finish. Group C winners play a Cup semi-final at 12:10 pm PKT. The runners-up play a Plate semi-final at 11:15 am PKT. Third place plays in the Bowl at 9:25 am PKT.
Hong Kong is three hours ahead of Pakistan, so we took three hours off each slot on the official fixtures page. All finals are on Sunday 1 November, with the Cup final at 3:10 pm Hong Kong time, or 12:10 pm PKT.
Pakistan come into this weekend as defending champions. The organisers say they won a record sixth title in 2025 by beating Kuwait by 43 runs in the final, with Afridi scoring 52 off 11 balls. A seventh title would extend that record. The PCB picked Pakistan's Hong Kong Sixes squad of seven on 9 October.

No Pakistani broadcaster has been named
The organisers name Sony Sports Network and the FanCode app as broadcasters in India only. We found no channel or app named for Pakistan on the official site. Check the official Hong Kong Sixes social media pages before each match for any stream they share.
For Pakistan's own home series, fans can watch Pakistan cricket live on mobile through PTV Sports and the PCB-approved apps. Those rights cover matches in Pakistan, not this event in Hong Kong.
