IHC Case Status Check Online: Islamabad High Court Case Number, Party Name, FIR or Diary
Check an Islamabad High Court case status online by case number, party name, FIR or diary number. Read the cause list colours, copy status and tentative dates.
To check an Islamabad High Court case status, open mis.ihc.gov.pk, choose Case Search, and search by case number and year, by one party's name, by FIR number and police station, or by diary number. The same portal shows the cause list, certified copy status and diary tracking, and it can send the case history to your email or WhatsApp. Below we go through each search, what the result tabs mean, and the dates you should not trust.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) runs one case management portal for its own cases, and its Institution menu also lists the Islamabad district courts East and West, special courts and tribunals, and the Supreme Court. We opened the IHC case search, cause list, copy status and e-Diary pages on 24 October 2026 and read every field and note on them.
Four ways to search an IHC case
The IHC case search accepts a case number with category and year, a case title with one party's name, an FIR number with police station and year, or a diary number with its type and year. Pick whichever detail you have on paper.

The party search asks for "one name of party", so type one name, not both sides. A common surname returns a long list. Add the year or category to narrow it.
Check an IHC case status in 6 steps
Open the IHC portal, go to Case Search, pick Islamabad High Court as the institution, fill one search option, and open the case. Then read the status, stage, next hearing date and bench, and use the tabs for orders and history.
- Open mis.ihc.gov.pk and click Case Search, also labelled Online Case Status.
- Choose the institution. For a High Court case, pick Islamabad High Court.
- Fill one option: case category, number and year; or one party name; or FIR details; or diary details.
- Press Search and open your case from the list.
- Read Case Status, Case Stage, Hearing Date and Before Bench at the top.
- Open the tabs for Orders, Judgement, History, Copies, Movement and Case CMs. To keep a record, enter your email or a WhatsApp number in the form 923XXXXXXXXX and send the case history.
A "short order" field shows the operative line of the last order. Read the full order in the Orders tab before acting on it. Lawyers who want all their cases in one view can use the Lawyer's Cases page instead.
Hearing dates beyond this week are tentative
The IHC portal itself warns that only the current week's hearing dates are confirmed. A date shown for next week or later is tentative. Check the cause list for that day before you travel to court.
The case search page carries two notes: "Hearing Dates of current week are only valid" and "Case date within only current week are confirmed". The result screen also has a "Tentative Date" field. Treat that as a plan, not a promise.
That is the single most useful thing to know about the portal. Families travel from Rawalpindi, Attock or further for a date that has already moved. The final word for any day is the cause list.
How to read the IHC cause list
The IHC cause list page has separate lists for regular, supplementary and urgent cases, a lawyer-wise list, an objection and cancellation list, and a weekly list. You can search it by case number, hearing date, party name or lawyer name.

If your case is in red, expect it to go ahead. The IHC also posts a demo on how to view the cause list on the same page. The equivalent check for the new top constitutional court is in the Federal Constitutional Court cause list.
Certified copy status and diary tracking
For a certified copy of an order, use Copy Status and search by copy petition number or by case number. For papers you filed, use the e-Diary tracker with the diary type, number and year from your receipt.
- Copy petition status shows the copy number, case number, applicant, applied on, prepared on, supplied on, status and cost. The status legend is Issued, Prepared, Pending or Objection. The copy petition form can be downloaded from the same page.
- e-Diary tracker covers diary types such as case file, objection, power of attorney, comments or reply, adjournment, surety bond, lower court record, paper book and affidavits.
- Objection on a copy or a filing means something is missing. Ask the branch what it is, fix it and resubmit, because the case will not move while the objection stands.
When the IHC case search shows nothing
Nothing found usually means the wrong institution, category or year. Try the party name search, then the FIR or diary search. If a newly filed case still does not appear, ask your lawyer for the diary number and track that instead.
The portal also has a Complaint and Human Rights Cell with its own online registration and complaint tracking. That is for complaints about court services, not for the status of your case. Be careful with calls. Court staff do not phone litigants asking for money to fix a date. If someone does, the case portal is free to check yourself.
Common questions
Can I check an IHC case by party name?
Yes. Choose the case title option and enter one name of a party. Add the year or category if the list is long.
Can I check an IHC bail case by FIR number?
Yes. The search accepts FIR number, FIR year, police station and FIR date.
Are IHC hearing dates on the portal final?
No. The portal says only current week dates are confirmed. Later dates are tentative.
Can I get my IHC case history on WhatsApp?
Yes. The result screen lets you send the case history to an email address or a WhatsApp number written as 923XXXXXXXXX.
Does the IHC portal cover Islamabad district courts?
Its Institution menu lists District Court East and District Court West alongside the High Court. We did not run a district court search, so confirm results with the court.

We read the IHC case search page, the IHC cause list page, the copy petition status page, the e-Diary tracker and the Complaint and Human Rights Cell page at mis.ihc.gov.pk on that date. Fields, labels, colour meanings and notes are quoted from those pages. We did not search a real case, so we have not seen a live result screen, and we cannot say how fast new filings appear.
