NTS Test Registration, Roll Number Slip and Result in Pakistan

To take an NTS test, you apply online at portal.nts.org.pk, pay the fee through a 1Bill invoice, then download your roll number slip and result from nts.org.pk by CNIC. Most fees we saw on 30 September 2026 carried a Rs 10 service charge on top.

The National Testing Service (NTS) is a public sector company under the Ministry of Science and Technology. It runs admission tests for universities and recruitment tests for government bodies and companies. Its own counter says more than 30,000 tests and 25 million candidates so far.

We went through the NTS site on 30 September 2026. We read the Open Applications list, the fee payment page, the List of Candidates page, the Results page and the test pages on the candidate portal. We did not apply for a test or pay a fee.

NTS tests open for applications on 30 September 2026

On 30 September 2026 the NTS Open Applications page listed 12 tests still taking forms. The earliest closed on 3 October and the latest on 30 October 2026. Dates below are the last dates NTS printed, and they can change.

The portal gives a tentative test date for some of these. GAT Subject 2026-VI shows 15 November 2026. Malakand shows 10 October and Shifa Pharm. D shows 8 November. "Tentative" means NTS can move it, so wait for the roll number slip before you plan travel.

If you want an MS or MPhil seat, check whether your university accepts NTS GAT or the HEC test. The HEC HAT test is a separate exam with its own portal.

How to register for an NTS test online

Registration happens only online. Every test page we opened said handwritten or hand-delivered forms are not accepted. You make one account on the NTS candidate portal and use it for every test you apply for.

1. Open nts.org.pk and click Open Applications. Find your test and click Details.
2. On the portal page, read the advertisement. Check the post, age limit and fee.
3. Click Registration and create an account with your CNIC, email and mobile number. Log in if you already have one.
4. Click Apply Now next to the post you want and fill the form. Upload your photo and documents if asked.
5. Submit the form. The portal then gives you a fee invoice for payment.

Use a mobile number that is not ported to another network. NTS says SMS to ported numbers is restricted. It asks you to send "MNP" to 8331 once (Rs 2 plus tax) to fix this. If you blocked business SMS through 3627, send "Unreg" to 3627, or you will miss the test alerts.

Candidates with a NADRA disability certificate are exempt from the fee on every NTS form except international tests. Attach the certificate each time you apply.

How to pay the NTS test fee

NTS accepts the fee in two ways. You can pay the 1Bill invoice through banks, ATMs, mobile banking, EasyPaisa, JazzCash or TCS Express. Or you can pay at a branch of Allied Bank, MCB or Meezan Bank. The NTS fee page says only 1Bill invoice payment is accepted.

The simplest route is your banking app. Choose bill payment, then 1Bill or "Invoice/Voucher", and enter the invoice number from the portal. Keep the payment receipt until your roll number slip arrives.

Some pages on the NTS site are older than others. The FAQ page still talks about posting a form by courier and paying at UBL or HBL. The current test pages and the fee payment page say the opposite, so follow those.

Each post carries its own fee. If you apply for two posts, you pay twice. Most test pages add a Rs 10 service charge, and the TOEIC modules add Rs 40.

How to download your NTS roll number slip

Roll number slips appear under List of Candidates on nts.org.pk, a few days before the test. You search by CNIC or passport number and a 5-digit code. The slip shows your roll number, test centre and time.

On 30 September 2026 that page showed slips for the Shifa MBBS/BDS test on 4 October and the Punjab Pharmacy Council test on 3 and 4 October 2026. It also carries lists of eligible and rejected candidates.

NTS keeps a query window. Queries on a test are taken until 7 days before its first test day. If your name is on a rejected list, raise it then, not on the test morning.

At the centre you need the original slip plus one original ID: CNIC, passport, or B-Form if you are under 18. Candidates under 18 also need their SSC certificate with a photo. A NADRA token slip works only with another valid government photo document.

How to check your NTS result and answer key

Results sit under Results and Answer Keys on nts.org.pk. Open your test's result link and enter your roll number or CNIC plus the 5-digit code. Some tests also publish an answer key, so you can check your own marking.

On 30 September 2026 the results page listed, among others, NAT 2026-IX and GAT Subject 2026-V, both held on 13 September 2026. It also had the Sindh High Court recruitment test of 22 and 23 August 2026, with answer keys.

A pass on NTS is not a job or a seat. The terms on the portal say NTS bears no responsibility for any job offer or admission. The university or department makes that decision.

Help from NTS and fake test warnings

The NTS call centre number is 051-844-444-1. The fee page says every other number has been switched off. The head office is Plot 96, Street 4, H-8/1, Islamabad, and office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Apply only through links on nts.org.pk. The official portal lives at portal.nts.org.pk. A post on social media is not proof that a test exists, so find it in the Open Applications list first. NTS also says corrections from queries appear only on its own website.

Recruitment tests for provincial jobs are a different system. A Punjab job may be tested by the PPSC instead, with its own fees and slips.

Common questions

How do I check my NTS result by CNIC?

Go to nts.org.pk, click Results and Answer Keys, open your test and enter your CNIC or roll number with the 5-digit code shown. Most results accept either.

When does the NTS roll number slip come out?

Usually a few days before the test, under List of Candidates. NTS does not post it to you, so check the site and your email.

What is the fee for GAT Subject 2026-VI?

Rs 2,200 plus a Rs 10 service charge, according to the NTS portal on 30 September 2026. The last date is 19 October 2026 and the tentative test date is 15 November 2026.

Can I pay the NTS fee with JazzCash or EasyPaisa?

Yes. NTS accepts 1Bill invoice payments through EasyPaisa, JazzCash, banking apps, ATMs and TCS Express counters.

Is the NTS fee refundable?

The pages we read do not offer a general refund. Treat the fee as non-refundable unless the advertisement for your test says otherwise.

Can I apply for two posts in the same NTS test?

Yes, if the advertisement allows it, but each post is a separate application with its own fee.
