Pakistan Era Is Hiring Two Urdu Journalists for Its New Urdu Desk

Pakistan Era is hiring two Urdu journalists. We are expanding our editorial work to Urdu readers, and we want two experienced Urdu writers to help build that coverage from the start. If you write clear Urdu and check your facts at the source, apply through our careers page.
Why Pakistan Era is starting Urdu coverage
Since 2024, Pakistan Era has published news and guides in English: what changed, what it costs, the deadline, and how to get it done. But a large part of Pakistan reads most comfortably in Urdu, and a guide only helps if the reader can follow every step.
Millions of Pakistanis search and read in Urdu first. They should get the same checked, practical answers our English readers get. So we are building an Urdu desk, and these are its first two roles.
The role in short
| Detail | What it is |
|---|---|
| Job title | Urdu Journalist |
| Positions | 2 |
| Desk | Urdu desk, a new team |

What you will do
- Write same-day Urdu news on prices, public services, education, sport and policy, read from the official source.
- Adapt our strongest English guides into natural, simple Urdu. This means rewriting for an Urdu reader, not translating word for word.
- Check every fee, date and figure on the responsible authority's own page.
- Write clear Urdu headlines and social media cards.
- Help write the Urdu desk's style guide, from spelling to how we write numbers and English words.
Who we are looking for
We want people with a master's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Urdu or a related field, and at least two years of published Urdu writing. You should type Urdu quickly and accurately in Unicode, because web pages cannot use InPage files. You also need good reading English, because many government notifications are published only in English.
Most of all, we want people who check before writing. On Pakistan Era, every figure comes from the official notification, the regulator or the department's own page, never from another website.
A message from our founder
"Pakistan Era started with a simple idea: explain things clearly and check every fact. Urdu is the next step. We want people across Pakistan, in every city and village, to get answers they can trust in the language they read most comfortably. We are looking for two Urdu journalists who care about that as much as we do."
