We read the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) match report and scorecard for the final day. The PCB posted both on 11 October 2026. All the numbers below come from them.
The match ended in a draw after Sri Lanka U17 batted out the final day
Pakistan U17 scored 434 for 8 declared against Sri Lanka's 285, a lead of 149 runs. Sri Lanka U17 then reached 187 for 6 in 52.5 overs in their second innings. The match finished as a draw, with both sides taking the field again for the one-day series.
Pakistan resumed day 3 on 306 for 4 in 84 overs. They added 128 runs and declared after 101.3 overs. The declaration gave the bowlers a little over a session and a half to try for a result. Sri Lanka's batters held on.
| Innings | Team | Score | Overs |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | Sri Lanka U17 | 285 all out | 86.5 |
| 1st | Pakistan U17 | 434 for 8 declared | 101.3 |
| 2nd | Sri Lanka U17 | 187 for 6 | 52.5 |
Sri Lanka were 38 runs ahead overall when the game ended. That figure is our own sum: 187 minus the 149-run deficit.

Mohammad Yousaf's 161 anchored the Pakistan innings
Mohammad Yousaf finished on 161, including 16 fours and four sixes. He had been 144 not out overnight, so he added 17 on the final morning. Sudais Ahmed made 61 earlier in the innings. Sandaru Malshan took three wickets for 104 for the visitors.
The scorecard shows the weight he carried: 161 of the 434 runs, or 37 per cent. The next best Pakistan score was Sudais Ahmed's 61.
Sri Lanka's first-innings hundred came from Sashith Bandara, who made 103. That means each side had one century in the match. Pakistan's bowlers had earlier done their part: Fahad Iqbal took 3 for 46, Mohammad Ihsaan 3 for 62 and Mohammad Yaqoob Khan 2 for 33 as Sri Lanka were bowled out for 285.
Stevon Peiris and Methuka Gunarathne saved the match for Sri Lanka
Captain Stevon Peiris scored 67 off 95 balls with 10 fours, and Methuka Gunarathne added 49. Together they kept Sri Lanka U17 alive in the second innings. Pakistan took six wickets but ran out of time to take the other four.
Three Pakistan bowlers took two wickets each in that innings: Abdullah Ahmed Butt for 14 runs, Mohammad Ihsan for 40 and Fahad Iqbal for 58. Butt's figures were the tightest of the three.
| Bowler | Wickets | Runs conceded |
|---|---|---|
| Abdullah Ahmed Butt | 2 | 14 |
| Mohammad Ihsan | 2 | 40 |
| Fahad Iqbal | 2 | 58 |

The 149-run lead does not carry into the one-day series
In a three-day match, a draw is a draw even when one side leads on the first innings. The PCB report calls the result a draw and gives no points table. The one-day series is a fresh contest in a different format.
Pakistan's batters had a strong game, and the declaration shows the hosts wanted a result. Sri Lanka showed they can hold out under pressure, which is a useful lesson for a young side on a long tour.
