To check a Peshawar High Court case status, open peshawarhighcourt.gov.pk, click Case Status, and search by case title, case number, case year and case nature. Your hearing date for the next working day is in the cause list PDF for your bench: Peshawar, Abbottabad, D.I. Khan, Mingora or Bannu. Below we cover both checks, the bench websites, the complaint search by CNIC, and one page you should not rely on.

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) is the high court for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with its principal seat in Peshawar and benches across the province. On Saturday 24 October 2026 it had already posted the cause lists for Monday 26 October 2026 for all five benches. We read the case status page, the cause list pages, the copy status page and the complaint search on that date.

Peshawar High Court case status works by title, number, year and nature

The PHC Case Status page, titled "Online Case hearing Details", has four fields: Case Title, Case No, Case Year and Case Nature. Fill the number, year and nature from your lawyer's file, or search by the case title if you know the parties.

FieldWhat to typeWhere to find it
Case TitleThe names of the parties as filedYour petition, notice or summons
Case NoThe case number as written on your papersDiary slip or your lawyer
Case YearThe year the case was filedSame as above
Case NatureThe type, for example writ petition, criminal appeal or bailThe short code before the number on your papers

A writ petition and a criminal appeal can share the same number in the same year, so the case nature matters. If you are unsure of it, search by title first and pick your case from the list.

Check a PHC case and its hearing date in 5 steps

Search the case on the Case Status page, then open Current Causelist and download the PDF for your bench and date. The cause list is the final word on whether your case is fixed for hearing that day.

  1. Open peshawarhighcourt.gov.pk and click Case Status in the search box on the home page.
  2. Enter the case number, year and nature, or the case title, and search.
  3. Note the stage and the next date shown for your case.
  4. Open Cause List, then Current Causelist, and download the PDF for your bench.
  5. Search the PDF for your case number with your phone's find option. If it is not listed, use "Search for Causelist" to pick another date and bench.

The cause lists go up the working day before. On 24 October 2026, the five PDFs for Monday were uploaded between about 1:56 pm and 3:21 pm, going by the time stamps in their file names. So check after mid-afternoon for the next day.

Each PHC bench has its own cause list

The Current Causelist page lists five benches: the principal seat at Peshawar, and benches at Abbottabad, D.I. Khan, Mingora and Bannu. Pick the bench where your case was filed. A Peshawar list will not show a Bannu case.

The PHC also posts separate Deputy Registrar cause lists and an Election Tribunal cause list. Those are for matters before the Deputy Registrar and election petitions, not for regular hearings before a judge.

A case can also sit on the list without a date confirmed in advance. The petitions on the KP emergency, for example, were filed with no hearing date confirmed, and the cause list is where a date would first appear.

The PHC certified copy status page is out of date

The PHC Certified Copy Status page lists daily PDFs of copy applications filed, prepared, issued and pending. But the newest entry we found was dated 21 November 2019. Do not rely on it for a copy you applied for in 2026.

We counted 32 entries on the page, running from 30 March 2019 to 21 November 2019, with nothing later. For a current copy application, ask at the copy branch of your bench or through your lawyer, and keep the receipt number.

That is not a reason to distrust the case status or the cause lists. Those were fresh on 24 October 2026. It is only the copy page that has not been updated.

Complaints, district courts and the lawyers' case diary

The PHC has a complaint search that finds a complaint by complaint number, CNIC or both, and a complaint registration form. District courts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa run their own sites, which the PHC links in its footer.

  • Complaint search. Under Search for Complaint, enter the complaint number, your CNIC, or both. This is for complaints about court services, not a case status.
  • District courts. The PHC footer links district court sites including Peshawar (sessionscourtpeshawar.gov.pk), Mardan, Abbottabad, Swat, Charsadda, Nowshera, Bannu, D.I. Khan, Swabi, Haripur and the merged districts such as Khyber, Kurram, Mohmand and Bajaur.
  • Case Diary. This is for advocates. They must first submit a details form with CNIC, email and mobile number, and the PHC says the portal is still in development.

A tenant or landlord dispute usually starts in a rent controller's court, not the High Court. The grounds are covered in evicting a tenant in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. For courts in other provinces, see how to check a court case status online in Pakistan.

When the PHC site does not open or shows nothing

The PHC site sometimes refuses automated or unusual requests, so open it in a normal browser. If the search shows nothing, check the case nature and year, then try the title search. If a new case still does not appear, ask your lawyer for the diary number.

Never pay anyone who calls offering to fix or advance a hearing date. Checking the status and cause list is free and you can do it yourself.

Common questions

How do I check my case in the Peshawar High Court online?

Open peshawarhighcourt.gov.pk, click Case Status and enter the case number, year and nature, or the case title.

When is the PHC cause list uploaded?

The working day before. On 24 October 2026 the Monday lists went up between about 1:56 pm and 3:21 pm.

Which benches have a PHC cause list?

Peshawar, Abbottabad, D.I. Khan, Mingora and Bannu each have their own list on the Current Causelist page.

Can I check a PHC complaint by CNIC?

Yes. The Search for Complaint page accepts a complaint number, a CNIC, or both.

Can I track a certified copy on the PHC website?

Not reliably. The copy status page's newest list was dated 21 November 2019 when we checked. Ask at the copy branch instead.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 24 October 2026. We read the Peshawar High Court home page, the PHC Case Status page, the Current Causelist page, the Certified Copy Status page, the Search for Complaint page and the Case Diary page on that date. The PHC site refused our direct request, so we read these pages through a rendering service that loads them as a browser would. Upload times are read from the PDF file names. We did not search a real case.
