Public Holidays in Pakistan 2027: Expected Full List With Days (Not Notified Yet)
Pakistan's 2027 public holidays are not notified yet. See the expected dates and weekdays, the estimated Eid days, the 4 weekend holidays and the long weekends.

Pakistan's 2027 public holiday list has not been issued yet. If the Cabinet Division keeps the same 12 occasions as in 2026, the fixed dates will be Kashmir Day on Friday 5 February, Pakistan Day on Tuesday 23 March, Labour Day on Saturday 1 May, Youm-e-Takbeer on Friday 28 May, Independence Day on Saturday 14 August, Iqbal Day on Tuesday 9 November and Quaid-e-Azam Day on Saturday 25 December. Eid and Ashura dates depend on the moon, and our best estimates are below.
The 2026 list came in a Cabinet Division circular dated 19 January 2026, so the 2027 list is likely in January 2027. We read the 2026 circular on 24 October 2026 and used it as the template. This page gives the expected 2027 dates with their weekdays, marks which holidays fall on a weekend, and shows the long weekends worth planning leave around.
Seven fixed public holidays in 2027 fall on these days
The fixed holidays repeat on the same calendar date every year, so only the weekday changes. Three of them land on a Saturday in 2027: Labour Day, Independence Day and Quaid-e-Azam Day. The Day after Christmas, for Christians only, falls on Sunday 26 December.
| Holiday | Date in 2027 | Day | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kashmir Day | 5 February | Friday | Expected |
| Pakistan Day | 23 March | Tuesday | Expected |
| Labour Day | 1 May | Saturday | Expected |
| Youm-e-Takbeer | 28 May | Friday | Expected |
| Independence Day | 14 August | Saturday | Expected |
| Allama Iqbal Day | 9 November | Tuesday | Expected |
| Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas | 25 December | Saturday | Expected |
| Day after Christmas, Christians only | 26 December | Sunday | Expected |

"Expected" here means the date the occasion has had in every recent list. The government can add or drop a holiday. So do not treat the 2027 list as a copy of 2026 until the circular is out.
Eid-ul-Fitr is expected around 10 March and Eid-ul-Azha around 17 May
The four moon-based holidays move about 11 days earlier each year. On estimates from new moon times, Eid-ul-Fitr is likely around Wednesday 10 March 2027, Eid-ul-Azha around Monday 17 May, Ashura around 15 or 16 June, and Eid Milad-un-Nabi around Sunday 15 August.
| Holiday | Expected date | Could also be |
|---|---|---|
| Eid-ul-Fitr | Wednesday 10 March | Thursday 11 March |
| Eid-ul-Azha | Monday 17 May | Tuesday 18 May |
| Ashura, 10 Muharram | Tuesday 15 June | Wednesday 16 June |
| Eid Milad-un-Nabi | Sunday 15 August | Monday 16 August |

These are our estimates, not government dates. The working and the new moon times are in Islamic holidays 2027 in Pakistan. In 2026 all four moon-based holidays moved from the dates in the January circular once the moon was sighted, so the final notice a few days before each one is what counts.
Four 2027 holidays fall on a weekend, and past practice is not to move them
Labour Day, Independence Day and Quaid-e-Azam Day fall on Saturdays in 2027, and the Day after Christmas on a Sunday. Pakistan has not moved a holiday to a weekday when it lands on a weekend, so staff on a five-day week simply lose those days.
The record backs this up. In 2024 Iqbal Day fell on a Saturday, and the Cabinet Division's notice still declared "Saturday, the 9th November, 2024" as the holiday. In 2025 it fell on a Sunday and no weekday was given in its place. If Eid Milad-un-Nabi lands on Sunday 15 August, it will sit right after Independence Day on Saturday 14 August, and five-day staff gain nothing from either.
That is a bad year for anyone counting days off. It is a decent year for six-day offices, schools and shops, which do get the Saturday holidays.
Long weekends to plan around in 2027
Kashmir Day on Friday 5 February and Youm-e-Takbeer on Friday 28 May each make a three-day weekend. Pakistan Day on Tuesday 23 March and Iqbal Day on Tuesday 9 November leave a Monday in between, so one day of leave turns either into four days off.
- 5 to 7 February: Kashmir Day on Friday. Basant in Lahore runs from 29 January to 7 February, as set out in Basant 2027 in Lahore.
- Around 10 March: Eid-ul-Fitr, usually two or three days, landing midweek.
- 20 to 23 March: take Monday 22 March off and Pakistan Day gives four days.
- Around 17 May and 28 May: Eid-ul-Azha early in the week, then Youm-e-Takbeer on a Friday.
- 6 to 9 November: take Monday 8 November off and Iqbal Day gives four days.

Bank holidays in 2027 should be 1 January, 1 Ramazan and 1 July
The 2026 circular named three bank holidays, when branches close to the public but staff work: 1 January, 1 Ramazan for Zakat deduction, and 1 July. If 2027 follows, those are Friday 1 January, 1 Ramazan around 8 or 9 February, and Thursday 1 July.
The State Bank confirms each one with its own notice a few days before. Every 2026 closure and the late-opening tax days are listed in bank holidays in Pakistan, and the rest of this year's dates are in public holidays in Pakistan 2026.
Optional holidays for minorities, such as Holi, Easter, Diwali and Guru Nanak Dev Ji's birthday, will appear in the same circular. We have not estimated them, because their dates follow other calendars.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read the Cabinet Division public and optional holidays page and its 2026 circular on 24 October 2026, and its notice declaring Saturday 9 November 2024 a holiday. Weekdays for 2027 are our own calendar check. The moon-based dates are our estimates from new moon times, not government dates. We could not verify the 2027 list itself, because it does not exist yet.
