How to Apply for a Spain Visa from Pakistan: Fee, Documents and Appointment

A Spain visa from Pakistan is applied for in person at an Intiana Spain Visa Application Centre in Islamabad, Lahore or Karachi, after booking at thespainvisa.com. A short-stay Schengen visa costs Rs 29,578 for an adult, plus a Rs 5,554 centre charge, both paid in cash. A decision normally takes 15 calendar days.

The Embassy of Spain in Islamabad makes every decision. The centres, run by Intiana, the company formerly known as BLS, only take your file and biometrics and send them on. They forward each accepted file to the Embassy the next working day.

Where to apply for a Spain visa in Pakistan

You apply at one of three Intiana Spain Visa Application Centres, with an appointment booked online. Submission and passport collection run from 9:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday. The Islamabad centre moved to a new address on 6 July 2026.

The Embassy's own page says an application must be made in person. So you go yourself, even when a family member or employer is paying. Someone else can collect the passport later with your authority letter, a copy of their ID and the original receipt.

Spain Schengen visa fee and service charge in Pakistan

The centre charges Rs 29,578 for an adult Schengen visa and Rs 14,789 for a child aged 6 to 12. Children under 6 pay nothing. On top comes the Intiana service charge of Rs 5,554, including tax. Everything is paid in cash and is not refunded.

Here is the mismatch. The Embassy of Spain's Schengen page still says €80 for anyone over 12 and €40 for a child. The centre's rupee amounts work out at about €90 and €45, and Italy's Embassy in Islamabad also charges €90 and €45 for a Schengen visa from 1 July 2026. So the Spanish page looks out of date. Take cash for the centre's amount, because that is what you will pay.

Documents for a Spain visit visa from Pakistan

The Embassy's checklist for Pakistan asks every applicant for the form, photos, passport, insurance, CNIC, flight and hotel bookings, a NADRA family certificate, six months of bank statements and proof of tax filing. Then it adds papers for your job status.

1. Schengen visa application form, filled in and signed. Every question must be answered.
2. Two recent colour photos on a white background, glued to the form.
3. Passport, original and copy, issued within the last 10 years and valid 3 months beyond the visa. Add copies of old visas.
4. Medical travel insurance covering at least €30,000, including repatriation, for the whole stay.
5. A copy of your CNIC as proof of residence.
6. Return flight reservation and a hotel booking for the whole trip, or a sponsor's letter if you stay with family.
7. A Family Registration Certificate in English from NADRA.
8. Bank statements for the last six months, signed and stamped by the bank.
9. Your NTN certificate and FBR acknowledgements of tax returns for the last two years.

Then add what fits you. An employee brings three months of pay slips, the job contract and a leave letter giving dates, position and salary. A business owner brings the company's registration certificate. A government employee needs an NOC. A retired person brings six months of pension statements, and a student brings proof of enrolment and a student card.

The tax papers catch people out. If you have never filed, getting an NTN and filing returns takes time, so start early. The checklist allows other proof of income or assets where these cannot be produced.

How to book and submit your Spain visa application

Book online at thespainvisa.com, then attend in person with the full file and cash. The centre says new Schengen slots open daily except weekends and holidays, and advises booking about a month ahead. Apply between six months and 15 days before you travel.

1. Register on thespainvisa.com and book an appointment for the correct visa type.
2. Print the appointment letter and gather your documents.
3. Go to the centre in person. Your photo and fingerprints are taken there.
4. Pay the visa fee and service charge in cash and keep the receipt.
5. Track the file with the code on your receipt, then collect your passport.

Your fingerprints are not taken again if they were taken for a Schengen visa in the last 59 months. Children under 12 are also exempt. The receipt code works on the Spanish foreign ministry's visa status tracker.

Spain visa processing time and refusals

The Embassy's legal deadline for a decision is 15 calendar days from the day after you submit. It can stretch to 45 days if the Embassy asks for an interview or more papers. A refusal comes in writing with the reasons, and you can appeal within one month.

The appeal for reconsideration goes to the Embassy itself. You can also go to the High Court of Justice of Madrid within two months. A visa is still not a right to enter: border officers in Spain can ask for the same proof again.

Spain work and study visas are national visas

For stays over 90 days, or for any paid work, you need a national visa, not a Schengen one. For a job, your employer in Spain first gets you an initial residence and work permit. You then have one month to apply at the Embassy.

The Embassy's rules for the employee visa, as stated on its page:

• Apply within one month of the employer being told the permit was approved.
• Bring a criminal record certificate for the last five years, apostilled and translated into Spanish.
• Your passport needs at least four months of validity and two blank pages.
• The decision period is one month, and you collect the visa within one month of approval.

A police character certificate is the Pakistani record check here. A student visa has its own tests, including funds equal to 100 per cent of Spain's IPREM income index and Spanish health insurance. Stays over 180 days add a medical certificate and a criminal record check. The Embassy of Spain in Islamabad lists each type separately.

If work is the goal, compare routes before you choose. The Portugal work visa and the Germany work visa have their own entry rules.

Never pay an agent for a Spain visa appointment

Intiana says it and the Embassy of Spain do not work with outside agents. Appointments are booked only on its website. Its staff never ask for cash to get or speed up an appointment, and it has no official WhatsApp or mobile number for contacting applicants.

Report anyone selling appointments to info@thespainvisa.com, and check the web address before paying, because fake sites copy the centre's name.
