To set a Ufone caller tune, send SUB to 6666 or dial *6666#; to stop it, send UNSUB to 6666. The service is called UTunes, and Ufone charges Rs 3.90 a day including tax on prepaid. Ufone also sells MyTunes, a different tune that you hear while waiting. Below are both services, every charge, and the one key press that subscribes people by accident.

A caller tune is the song or recitation your callers hear instead of the ring. It looks cheap at a few rupees a day, but it renews every day for as long as you keep it. We read Ufone's UTunes, MyTunes and VAS pages on 24 October 2026.

UTunes is Ufone's caller tune, and 6666 is its code

UTunes plays a tune of your choice to everyone who calls you. Ufone lists three ways to start it: send SUB to 6666, dial *6666#, or call 6666. To stop it, send UNSUB to 6666. Ufone also sells it at its service centres, franchises and retailers.

Ufone also offers a weekly package that changes your tune every week. A friend can only receive a gifted tune if they already subscribe to UTunes.

UTunes costs Rs 3.90 a day, plus charges for calls and gifts

The daily fee is Rs 3.90 including tax on prepaid and Rs 3.26 plus tax on postpaid. Calling 6666 to browse tunes costs Rs 2.99 plus tax on prepaid. Gifting a tune costs Rs 6.98 on prepaid and Rs 5.84 on postpaid.

Call to 6666Rs 2.99 + taxRs 2.5 + tax
Gift a UTuneRs 6.98Rs 5.84

At Rs 3.90 a day, a prepaid caller tune costs Rs 117 over 30 days, which is our arithmetic. That is more than some weekly data bundles. Ufone's own price notice from August 2024 listed UTunes at Rs 3.59 a day, so the fee has risen since.

Pressing star on a friend's tune can subscribe you

Ufone lists a feature called One Key Copy. While you listen to a friend's UTune, pressing the star key activates UTunes on your own number and copies that tune. One accidental press while waiting on a call is enough to start the daily charge.

That is the likely answer when someone insists they never subscribed. The fix is the same as for any UTunes subscription: send UNSUB to 6666 and wait for the confirmation SMS.

Ufone's VAS page adds a wider warning. Every value added service stays active until you unsubscribe and renews automatically, and tapping a VAS advertisement counts as agreeing to subscribe.

MyTunes is the tune you hear, not the one callers hear

MyTunes replaces the dial tone you hear while waiting for someone to pick up. It costs the same as UTunes, Rs 3.90 a day on prepaid. You set it by calling 666. Ufone's MyTunes page lists no SMS code to stop it.

Each MyTunes download costs Rs 6.98, and calls to 666 cost Rs 2.99 plus tax a minute. Because the page gives no stop code, call the helpline on 333 to remove MyTunes, or check the 666 menu for a cancel option.

If you have both services, you pay both daily fees. That is close to Rs 8 a day before you make a single call.

How to stop a Ufone caller tune in five steps

Send UNSUB to 6666 first, because that ends UTunes, the more common of the two. If the daily deduction continues, call 333 and ask the agent to remove MyTunes and any other tune service. Then check your balance the next day.

  1. Open SMS on your Ufone number.
  2. Type UNSUB and send it to 6666.
  3. Wait for Ufone's confirmation that UTunes has ended.
  4. If you also have MyTunes, call 333 and ask for it to be removed.
  5. Next morning, dial *124# to check that no tune fee was taken.
Five steps to stop a Ufone caller tune and check the charge has ended

Tunes are only one of the small daily charges Ufone lists. Games and kids apps have their own stop codes, and bundles stop with the codes in the Ufone unsubscribe code list. Jazz and Zong users will find their codes under caller tune prices on Jazz and Zong.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 24 October 2026. We read Ufone's UTunes page, its MyTunes page, its VAS page, its FAQ and its August 2024 price notice for UTunes, MyTunes and UNotifications, all on 24 October 2026. The 30 day cost is our arithmetic. We could not find a stop code for MyTunes, and we did not subscribe to or cancel either service.
