Winter Office Timings 2026 in Pakistan: Every Province and Federal Office Checked
Winter office timings 2026 in Pakistan: Balochistan is reported at 8:30 am to 4 pm, while Punjab, Sindh and KP have not announced. See public dealing hours too.

Balochistan is the only province reported to have set winter office timings for 2026: 8:30 am to 4 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on Friday, from 15 October 2026 to 14 April 2027, with Saturday and Sunday off. Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had not announced winter office timings that we could find on 24 October 2026. Federal offices continue on their five-day week.
We could not open the Balochistan government's own notice, so its hours below are reported, not confirmed at source. What we could read on official sites on 24 October 2026 were the public dealing hours of passport offices, the Islamabad Excise office and the State Bank. Those are the hours that decide when you can actually get something done, so they are in the second half of this page.
Balochistan's winter timings run from 15 October 2026 to 14 April 2027
Balochistan's Services and General Administration Department is reported to have issued winter office timings from 15 October 2026 to 14 April 2027. Offices open at 8:30 am, close at 4 pm from Monday to Thursday and at 3:30 pm on Friday, and stay shut on Saturday and Sunday.
| Offices | Days | Hours | Break |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular government offices | Monday to Thursday | 8:30 am to 4:00 pm | 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm |
| Regular government offices | Friday | 8:30 am to 3:30 pm | 1:15 pm to 2:15 pm |
| Regular government offices | Saturday and Sunday | Closed | |
| Health and education offices | Monday to Thursday and Saturday | 8:30 am to 2:30 pm | |
| Health and education offices | Friday | 8:30 am to 12:30 pm |

Schools, colleges, universities and hospitals are reported to be outside this schedule and follow their own. Every figure in this table is reported. Balochistan's government website did not carry the notice when we checked, and the department's own site did not open for us.
Punjab, Sindh and KP have not announced winter office timings
On 24 October 2026 we found no winter office timing notice for Punjab, Sindh or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Reports earlier in October also said none had been issued. Until one is, offices in these provinces keep their current hours.
We tried each province's Services and General Administration Department website on 24 October 2026. None of the three opened for us, so we cannot rule out a notice posted only there. If one appears, it will carry a notification number and a start date. Office hours and school hours are separate orders, so a school timing change does not move office hours, and the other way round.
One honest caution: forwarded "new winter timings" images often reuse last year's notice. Check that the year on it is 2026.
Federal offices are on a five-day week with no winter change
The Cabinet Division had issued no winter timing notice for federal offices when we checked its notices list on 24 October 2026. The temporary four-day week used in early 2026 was ended on 19 June 2026, when the government withdrew its austerity measures except market timings.
The market closing times kept in place by the 17 September 2026 notification, 9 pm for shops and 10 pm for wedding halls, are explained in market closing time in Pakistan. They are separate from office hours.
Public dealing hours that we read on official sites
The hours that decide your visit are public dealing hours, and three offices post them clearly. Passport offices deal with the public from 8 am to 4 pm on weekdays. Islamabad Excise counters run 8:30 am to 3:15 pm. The FBR helpline answers from 8 am to 11:30 pm on weekdays.
| Office | Public hours | Saturday | Where we read it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regional passport offices | 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, break 1:00 to 1:30 pm | No | Directorate General of Immigration and Passports |
| Islamabad Excise counters | 8:30 am to 3:15 pm, Monday to Friday | No | Excise and Taxation Department Islamabad |
| FBR helpline | 8:00 am to 11:30 pm, Monday to Friday | No | Federal Board of Revenue home page |
| Banks | Set by each bank, with selected Saturday branches | Some branches | State Bank of Pakistan |

The passport office rule has exceptions. The Directorate General's page excludes RPO G-10/4 Islamabad, RPO Garden Town Lahore, RPO Awami Markaz Karachi and NADRA Mega Centres, which run longer shifts, listed in passport office timings in Pakistan. The Islamabad Excise counters, the Friday break and its service times are in Islamabad Excise office timings.
Plan a government office visit this winter
Go between 9 am and 1 pm on Monday to Thursday. Avoid Friday afternoons, when breaks run long, and avoid the days around public holidays, when queues build. Iqbal Day on Monday 9 November and Christmas on Friday 25 December are the two closures left in 2026.
- Check whether the job can be done online or by appointment first.
- Avoid 9 November and 25 December, and the working day after each.
- Arrive in the morning; many counters stop new cases an hour before closing.
- Carry your CNIC and copies of every paper.
- Call the office helpline if a notice says hours have changed.

Bank closures on those holidays, and the dates banks stay open late for tax, are covered in bank holidays in Pakistan.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read on 24 October 2026 the passport office timing table, the Islamabad Excise website, the FBR home page and the Cabinet Division notices list. The 19 June 2026 end of austerity measures comes from the Cabinet Division's compiled austerity file as we read it in September. Balochistan's timings are reported only: the Balochistan government portal did not carry the notice and its department site did not open. The Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Establishment Division sites did not open for us.
