The Peshawar BRT (Zu Peshawar) helpline is (091) 111-477-477. TransPeshawar staff answer it from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, in Pashto, Urdu and English, for complaints, lost items and suggestions. You can also complain through the Zu app or website, or go straight to the ticket office or station manager at any Zu station.

We read TransPeshawar's helpline, lost and found, FAQ and bicycle sharing pages on 25 October 2026. Below is who to tell for each kind of problem, how long lost things are kept, what happens to a lost or broken Zu Card, and the bicycle rule that can cost you Rs 80,000.

The Zu helpline answers from 6 am to 10 pm in three languages

TransPeshawar's helpline, (091) 111-477-477, matches the 16 hours the buses run: 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. Staff speak Pashto, Urdu and English, and take complaints, information and suggestions. Outside those hours, use the app or the website.

Report a lost item the same day, and TransPeshawar keeps it at least 3 months

If you leave something on a Zu bus or at a station, call the helpline or complain through the app or website. You can also report it at the ticket office or to the station manager. The station manager passes it to the control centre, which tells every station.

TransPeshawar's lost and found rules say it stores found property for no less than three months. After that it disposes of the item and is no longer responsible for it. So a phone left in March is not waiting for you in August.

Before handing anything back, TransPeshawar says it takes reasonable steps to make sure the person claiming is the rightful owner. Bring your CNIC and something that proves the item is yours, such as a description of the contents or the phone's box.

  1. Note the route, bus direction and rough time you travelled.
  2. Call (091) 111-477-477 or tell the station manager at once.
  3. Describe the item clearly and give your mobile number.
  4. Ask for a complaint or reference number and write it down.
  5. Keep your CNIC ready to prove the item is yours when it is found.
Steps to report a lost item on Zu Peshawar

TransPeshawar does not pay for items stolen on buses or at stations

Its rules are blunt: passengers look after their own belongings, and TransPeshawar is not responsible for anything stolen in buses, at stations or in related facilities. You can still register the theft on the helpline, the app or the website.

For a stolen phone, the BRT complaint is not enough on its own. You will also want to block a lost phone through PTA so the handset cannot be used on any network, and report the theft to the police for your own record.

Tell staff at once if someone goes missing during the journey

If a child or an elderly relative gets separated from you on a Zu journey, tell the station manager, ticket staff or security staff at the station straight away. TransPeshawar's procedure is for the station manager to report it to the control centre, which alerts every station.

Do this before you start searching on your own. A message to 30 stations at once covers far more ground than one worried person on a platform.

What happens to a lost, stolen or faulty Zu Card in Peshawar

A lost Zu Card is not refunded, but a faulty one is replaced free

TransPeshawar's FAQ says there is no refund for a lost or stolen Zu Card. The balance can be moved to a new card only if the old one was registered against a CNIC. That is a good reason to register your card when you buy it.

A card that stops working because of a technical fault is different. Ticket office staff replace it free of charge and move the stored balance to the new card within five working days. A broken card can be handed in at any Zu station, with its balance moved to the new one you buy. The FAQ prices a new Zu Card for Peshawar BRT at Rs 300, and it can be topped up at ticket booths, station machines, online banking and Easypaisa or JazzCash shops. Each trip then deducts Rs 30 to Rs 70 by distance, unlike the flat metro bus fares in Punjab.

Zu bicycles must come back within 72 hours or you pay Rs 80,000

The Zu bicycle membership agreement says a bicycle not returned within 72 hours is treated as stolen. The rider is then charged the bicycle's price, which the agreement puts at Rs 80,000, on top of the usage fee.

Other rules in the agreement: riders must be 18 or older, though those aged 16 to 18 may ride if a parent or guardian subscribes and takes responsibility. You are responsible for the bicycle from the moment you unlock it until you lock it back in a dock. Accidents and lost or stolen bicycles must be reported to the helpline immediately.

The FAQ adds one trap: if you do not tap your Zu Card at the bicycle dock, the card is blocked, and you have to unblock it at a kiosk. Fares for the bicycles follow a regulation from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Urban Mobility Authority, which TransPeshawar's pages refer to but do not print.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read TransPeshawar's helpline page, its lost and found page, the FAQ and the bicycle sharing agreement on 25 October 2026. We did not call the helpline. We could not find the bicycle fare or the security deposit, which TransPeshawar says follow separate notified rules.
