Short answer: IBA Karachi's Fall 2027 Round 1 online forms opened on 1 October 2026 and close on Wednesday 9 December 2026. The aptitude test is on Sunday 20 December 2026. Apply at onlineadmission.iba.edu.pk for the BBA, BS and MBA programmes, then collect your admit card on 14 to 16 December.

Most students think of IBA as a summer decision. It is not. The first round of Fall 2027 admissions starts in the autumn of 2026, almost a year before classes begin on 23 August 2027. Miss Round 1 and you wait for Round 2 in March.

We read the Fall 2027 admission schedule and the admission policy on admissions.iba.edu.pk on 14 October 2026. This guide follows IBA's own dates. IBA warns that interview dates can change, so treat those as a guide.

Round 1 forms close on 9 December 2026

IBA's schedule says Round 1 online forms were available from Thursday 1 October 2026 and must be submitted by Wednesday 9 December 2026. This round covers the BBA, BS programmes, MBA and Executive MBA. Late forms are not mentioned, so plan to finish early.

The same Round 1 window applies to every undergraduate school. That includes the School of Business Studies (BBA, BS Accounting and Finance, BS Business Analytics), the School of Mathematics and Computer Science (BS Computer Science, BS Mathematics) and the School of Economics and Social Sciences (BS Economics, Economics and Mathematics, Economics and Data Science, Social Sciences and Liberal Arts).

  1. Open the IBA admissions site and read the admission policy for your programme.
  2. Check that your marks meet the minimum for that programme.
  3. Fill in the online application at onlineadmission.iba.edu.pk and pay the processing fee.
  4. Collect your admit card between 14 and 16 December 2026.
  5. Sit the aptitude test on Sunday 20 December 2026.
Five steps to apply to IBA Karachi for Fall 2027 Round 1

The aptitude test is on 20 December 2026

The Round 1 aptitude test for undergraduate and graduate business programmes is on Sunday 20 December 2026. Admit cards are issued from 14 to 16 December. IBA holds one aptitude test for both its campuses, so you do not choose a campus for the test.

The policy says the test checks quantitative and analytical ability, logical reasoning, communication, reading comprehension and grammar. It does not list a syllabus on the page we read, so we do not state one. Past papers are not an official source, so use only what IBA publishes.

Results come out soon after. The BBA, BS Accounting and Finance and BS Business Analytics test result is announced on Wednesday 30 December 2026. The MBA and Executive MBA result comes a day earlier, on 29 December.

Interviews and final results run into January 2027

Shortlisted BBA candidates are interviewed from 1 to 8 January 2027, and the final BBA result is on Tuesday 12 January 2027. BS Computer Science and BS Mathematics have no interview for BSCS, and the final result is on Friday 8 January 2027.

The BS Economics, Economics and Mathematics, Economics and Data Science and Social Sciences programmes show interviews and a final result as not applicable in Round 1. Your test result is the main step for them. IBA says the interview dates are for reference only and may change.

Rounds 2 and 3 give you two more chances

If you miss Round 1, Round 2 forms open on 1 January 2027 and close on Monday 8 March 2027, with the test on Sunday 21 March. Round 3 forms open on 1 April and close on 9 June 2027, with the test on Sunday 20 June.

Seats are not reserved for later rounds, and IBA does not promise that seats remain. Its policy says it makes no effort to fill every seat or lower the bar if few candidates apply. If you can apply in Round 1, do so. A weak first test does not stop you trying again in Round 2, as IBA's schedule lists a fresh test date.

The admission package, which holds the fee challan and offer letter, is sent on 12 February 2027 for Round 1, 3 May 2027 for Round 2 and 26 July 2027 for Round 3. Classes start on Monday 23 August 2027 for undergraduates and MBA students.

No quota seats and one merit rule for everyone

IBA's admission policy says admission follows strict merit, with no reserved or quota seats for any category. Cut-offs for each programme are set by the Admissions Committee using statistical analysis of the aptitude test. You choose your specialisation only after two years of study.

That means a recommendation or a family connection does not count. It also means your test result matters more than your marks once you pass the eligibility bar. Candidates who studied abroad must give an equivalence certificate. Students with A Levels should read the IBCC equivalence certificate guide early, because the certificate takes time. If your O and A Level results arrive late, the university admission calendar for A Level students shows how other universities handle the gap.

IBA also says anyone who gives false marks, grades, family finances or fake documents is permanently barred from applying.

One fee is already published

IBA's fee page, titled for Fall 2026 admission, lists a one-time admission charge of Rs 125,000 and undergraduate tuition of Rs 31,500 per credit hour. The Fall 2027 fee sheet was not posted when we checked, so these may change before you pay.

The fee page also adds a 3 per cent Sindh Sales Tax on Services where it applies, plus student activity charges of Rs 7,000. Keep in mind that IBA announces fees once every academic year and may revise them without notice. If money is a worry, read about NBEAC accreditation of business programmes and IBA's own financial assistance before you accept an offer, since it can only be requested after admission.
