Noor Zaman leads a four-man Pakistan squad ranked inside the world's top 100

All four Pakistan men are inside the PSA world top 100 on the 30 September ranking the federation used. Noor Zaman plays at No.1, followed by Muhammad Ashab Irfan, Mohammad Asim Khan and Nasir Iqbal. No other men's team has four players that high.

Hong Kong's top man, Lau Tsz Kwan, was ranked 44th and Malaysia's Joachim Chuah 62nd on the same list. On paper Pakistan are favourites, and a home final on 7 November is the realistic target. The latest rankings for each player are on our page to check Pakistan's squash players in the PSA world ranking, which uses a later monthly list.

Malaysia are the team Pakistan will remember. At the Asian Games in Japan, Pakistan took squash silver after a 2-0 final loss to Malaysia. Malaysia are in the other pool this time, so a rematch could only come in the semi-finals or the final.

Pakistan's women play a five-team round robin from 4 November

The women's event has five teams, so every team plays every other team once. Pakistan are seeded fourth. Their four ties are against Hong Kong, Malaysia, Iran and Korea, between Wednesday 4 and Saturday 7 November.

Hong Kong, China are the top women's seeds, with Chan Sin Yuk ranked 25th, and Malaysia are second. The match most likely to decide the title is Hong Kong v Malaysia at 1:00 pm on Saturday 7 November. Pakistan's best chance of a win on paper is against Iran on 6 November.

Sri Lanka withdrew, leaving six men's and five women's teams

The seeding document says Sri Lanka withdrew on 24 October 2026, from both the men's and women's events. That leaves six men's teams and five women's teams. Hong Kong also changed one women's player, with Cheng Nga Ching replacing Ho Tze Lok.

Pool places are decided first by ties won, then by the result between the teams level, then by matches won, games and points. A tie is a contest between two teams made up of individual matches, and a team needs at least two players on court for a tie to start. The full rules are in our earlier page on the format and seeding of the Asian Team Squash Championships.

  1. Check the day's order of play on the Asian Squash Federation event page each morning.
  2. Go to the Mushaf Squash Complex in Aabpara, Islamabad, well before the tie time.
  3. Expect the glass court ties to draw the biggest crowds, especially Pakistan's men at 4:00 pm.
  4. Watch for the medal ceremony on court after the finals on Saturday 7 November.

The federation's documents do not mention ticket prices or a live stream, so we cannot tell you whether entry is free or which channel will show the matches.
