Malaysia beat Pakistan 2-0 in the men's team squash final at the Asian Games 2026 on Friday 2 October. Pakistan take the silver medal, the country's first silver of these Games and its seventh medal overall.
We read every score below in the official Asian Games 2026 results system at about 3:10 pm Pakistan time, when the final was already marked official. The tie started at 11:30 am Pakistan time on Court 1 at the Nagoya Kinjo Futo Arena in Japan, and lasted 1 hour 40 minutes.
Noor Zaman came close to forcing a decider. He led Malaysia's Ng Eain Yow by two games to one in the second match, then lost the last two games 11-4 and 11-5.

Pakistan started well. Nasir Iqbal took the opening game of the final 11-8. Noor Zaman later won two games in a row against a player who had beaten him 3-0 in the singles semi-final six days earlier.

Noor Zaman led 2-1 before Ng Eain Yow came back
Noor Zaman lost the first game 11-8, then won the next two 11-6 and 11-7 to lead 2-1. Ng Eain Yow won the fourth 11-4 and the fifth 11-5. Had Zaman held on, the tie would have gone to a third match.
That third match would have been Muhammad Irfan against Sanjay Jeeva. Irfan had not lost a team match in the whole event before the final. He won every match he played from the pool stage through the semi-final, including a 3-0 win in the semi-final against Hong Kong.
Ng Eain Yow is a hard opponent for Zaman. He also beat him 3-0 in the men's singles semi-final on 26 September, the result that gave Zaman his singles bronze medal. This time Zaman took two games off him, which is real progress in six days.
The first match had a similar shape. Nasir Iqbal won the first game 11-8 against Ameeshenraj Chandaran. Chandaran then took control and won the next three games 11-3, 11-6 and 11-4.
Pakistan's silver is its first of the Asian Games 2026
Pakistan now has seven medals at the Asian Games 2026: one silver and six bronze. The official medal list credits the men's team silver to Noor Zaman, Muhammad Irfan, Asim Khan and Nasir Iqbal. Squash alone has given Pakistan three of the seven.

The semi-final was the hard one. Noor Zaman lost the first match to Lau Tsz Kwan. Muhammad Irfan then beat Henry Leung 3-0, and Nasir Iqbal won the decider 3-1, taking the last game 14-12. Malaysia reached the final by beating India 2-1 in the other semi-final.
