Behbood rates track the government's cost of borrowing. When the State Bank's policy rate was very high in 2023, Behbood reached Rs 1,380. As the policy rate came down, so did Behbood.
What the changes mean for Rs 10 lakh invested
Multiply the per-lakh figure by ten. On Rs 1,000,000, Behbood pays Rs 10,800 a month from 21 October 2026. At the 2026 low of Rs 1,000 it paid Rs 10,000, and at the 2023 high of Rs 1,380 it paid Rs 13,800.
The 2026 swings changed a Rs 10 lakh holder's monthly profit by up to Rs 1,000. For a widow or retired person living on this income, that is real money. Larger amounts are worked out in the monthly profit table for 1 to 75 lakh.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 1 November 2026. Every rate and period comes from National Savings' history file for Behbood, Pensioners' Benefit and Shuhada Family Welfare (BSC-PBA-SFWA_211026.pdf) and its rate card dated 21 October 2026, both downloaded from savings.gov.pk on 1 November 2026. The Rs 10 lakh figures are our arithmetic. The link to the policy rate is general background; National Savings does not explain individual changes. How a change applies to an existing holding is not stated in the file, so we have not stated it as fact.
