Cheapest Postpaid Packages in Pakistan: Jazz, Zong, Ufone and Telenor Compared
Compare every postpaid plan in Pakistan from PTA's 30 September 2026 list: line rent, free data, deposits and Rs per GB on Jazz, Zong, Ufone and Telenor.

The cheapest postpaid package in Pakistan is Telenor's Freedom 500 at Rs 600 a month, with 5 GB. For heavy users, Ufone's Prime Mega gives 200 GB for Rs 1,700. Zong's cheapest plan is Rs 800 and Jazz starts at Rs 1,600. These are PTA's figures, updated on 30 September 2026.
PTA posted fresh tariff files on its website on 6 October 2026. One of them lists every standard postpaid plan from Jazz, Telenor, Zong and Ufone, with the monthly line rent, free data, minutes and the security deposit. We read that file, then checked the prices on the operators' own pages where they loaded.
Line rent is the fixed monthly charge. PTA's file says the line rent already includes all government taxes. Anything you use beyond the plan is charged extra, plus tax.
Telenor has the cheapest entry plan, Jazz the most expensive
Telenor's Freedom 500 costs Rs 600 a month and Smart 300 costs Rs 618. Zong's Bronze is Rs 800 and Ufone's Prime 1000 is Rs 1,000. Jazz has no postpaid plan below Rs 1,600, which is almost three times Telenor's entry price.
The cheap plans are not equal, though. Telenor's Rs 600 plan gives 5 GB, 3,000 Telenor minutes and only 150 minutes to other networks. Zong's Rs 800 Bronze gives twice the data, 10 GB, and 300 off-net minutes. If you call people on other networks, Bronze is the better buy for Rs 200 more.
| Network | Cheapest plan | Line rent a month | Data | Security deposit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Telenor | Freedom 500 | Rs 600 | 5 GB | Rs 1,200 |
| Telenor | Smart 300 | Rs 618 | 1 GB | Rs 1,200 |
| Zong | Bronze | Rs 800 | 10 GB | Rs 1,000 |
| Ufone | Prime 1000 | Rs 1,000 | 20 GB | Rs 1,200 |
| Jazz | 15 GB plan (Value) | Rs 1,600 | 15 GB | Rs 1,700 |
Telenor's Smart range is poor value on data. Smart 3000 costs Rs 4,741 and gives only 10 GB. Its Freedom Gold costs Rs 1,000 and gives 30 GB. If a Telenor shop offers you a Smart plan, ask for Freedom instead.
Ufone Prime Mega gives the most data for the money
Ufone's Prime Mega gives 200 GB, 10,000 Ufone minutes and 2,000 off-net minutes for Rs 1,700. That works out to Rs 8.50 per GB. Zong's Platinum gives 200 GB for Rs 2,000, or Rs 10 per GB. Jazz's 200 GB plan costs Rs 3,500.
We divided each plan's line rent by its free data to get a rupees per GB figure. It is a rough guide, because minutes and SMS also have value. But for anyone who mainly uses the internet, it shows the gap clearly.
| Network and plan | Line rent | Data | Rs per GB |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ufone Prime Mega | Rs 1,700 | 200 GB | 8.5 |
| Zong Platinum | Rs 2,000 | 200 GB | 10 |
| Zong Titanium | Rs 4,000 | 400 GB | 10 |
| Telenor Freedom Gold Plus | Rs 1,600 | 100 GB | 16 |
| Ufone Prime 1600 | Rs 1,600 | 100 GB | 16 |
| Jazz 200 GB plan (Elite) | Rs 3,500 | 200 GB | 17.5 |
One Ufone plan looks odd. Prime 2400 costs Rs 2,400 for 80 GB, while Prime Mega costs Rs 1,700 for 200 GB. Ufone's own pages show both prices. Unless you need Prime 2400's extra SMS, Prime Mega is the plain winner.
Jazz's five postpaid plans run from Rs 1,600 to Rs 3,500
Jazz's own price plan page lists five plans: 15 GB for Rs 1,600, 30 GB for Rs 2,000, 50 GB for Rs 2,500, 100 GB for Rs 3,000 and 200 GB for Rs 3,500. All prices include tax. The two biggest plans add 50 or 100 international minutes.
Jazz costs more than Zong and Ufone for the same amount of data at every size. Its strength is elsewhere. PTA's own city survey for April to June 2026 found Jazz fastest in 9 of 11 cities. If speed in your area matters more than price, that can justify the higher bill.
Postpaid is cheaper than prepaid for heavy users on Zong and Ufone
For 200 GB a month, Zong postpaid Platinum is Rs 2,000, while Zong's prepaid Monthly Pro Max Basic costs Rs 2,700 to load. On Ufone, postpaid Prime Mega is Rs 1,700. On Jazz the reverse is true: prepaid Monthly X is cheaper than the Rs 3,500 postpaid plan.
PTA's prepaid list needs care. It shows Jazz, Telenor and Ufone prepaid prices before the 15% withholding tax that is taken on every recharge, while Zong's prepaid prices are the full load price. Jazz's Monthly X is listed at Rs 2,695, which comes to about Rs 3,100 once that tax is added. Postpaid line rent already includes the taxes, so it does not need this adjustment.
Prepaid bundles change often, and PTA's quarterly price tracker for mobile packages follows the biggest ones. Postpaid line rents change less often, which is one reason some people switch.
How to get a postpaid connection in Pakistan
Take your original CNIC to the operator's own service centre or franchise. You will give your fingerprints for biometric verification and pay a refundable security deposit. You can keep your number by converting an existing prepaid SIM, or port in from another network.
- Pick a plan from the tables above and note its deposit.
- Visit the operator's service centre or franchise with your original CNIC.
- Give your fingerprints for biometric verification.
- Pay the security deposit. Jazz's FAQ says it is refundable.
- Ask for the plan by name and check the line rent on your first bill.
Already on prepaid? The steps differ a little by network, and each one is covered on its own page: Jazz prepaid to postpaid, Zong prepaid to postpaid and Ufone prepaid to postpaid.
Security deposits and roaming deposits differ a lot
PTA's list shows a nationwide security deposit of Rs 1,000 for Zong Bronze and up to Rs 6,500 for Telenor Smart 3000. To use international roaming, Telenor, Zong and Ufone list a Rs 15,000 deposit, while Jazz lists Rs 5,000. Ask before you pay, because the sources do not always agree.
One example: PTA's file shows a Rs 1,700 deposit for Jazz's cheapest plan, but Jazz's FAQ says the minimum refundable deposit is Rs 1,100 and can vary by plan. Ufone's Prime Max page says Rs 1,250 a month, while PTA's file says Rs 1,300. We report both and suggest you confirm the figure at the counter.
Data beyond your plan is charged per MB. PTA's file lists Rs 2 plus tax per MB on Jazz, Rs 1 plus tax on Zong, Rs 1.20 plus tax on Telenor's Freedom plans and Rs 3 plus tax on Ufone. So the cheapest plan is not always cheapest if you often run out.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked on 9 October 2026. Plans, line rents, deposits and overage rates are from PTA's "Cellular Standard Postpaid Tariffs" file, updated 30 September 2026, on the PTA tariffs page. Prepaid prices are from PTA's hybrid bundles file of the same date. We checked Jazz's prices on its postpaid price plans page, and Zong's and Ufone's on their own plan pages. Telenor's postpaid page did not load for us, so Telenor figures are PTA's only. Rupees per GB is our own arithmetic.
