Check IBA Karachi Fees: Rs 31,500 Per Credit Hour and a Rs 125,000 Admission Charge
Check IBA Karachi fees: Rs 31,500 per credit hour for BBA and BS, a one-time Rs 125,000 admission charge, hostel Rs 126,400 to Rs 147,000 a semester, MBA rates.

Short answer: IBA Karachi lists undergraduate tuition at Rs 31,500 per credit hour for its 2026-27 fee year, with Rs 7,000 in student activity charges and a one-time admission charge of Rs 125,000. A 3 per cent Sindh sales tax on services is added where it applies. Hostel rooms cost Rs 126,400 to Rs 147,000 a semester.
Per credit hour is a confusing way to quote a fee. It sounds small until you multiply it by the number of courses you take. Parents often learn the real cost only after the offer letter arrives.
We read the IBA fee structure page on 14 October 2026. Its title says "Fee Structure for 2026-27 (Fall 2026 Admission)". The Fall 2027 sheet was not posted yet, so these are the latest published figures, not a promise for next year.
Undergraduate tuition is Rs 31,500 per credit hour
IBA charges Rs 31,500 per credit hour for the BBA and every undergraduate BS programme it lists, including Accounting and Finance, Computer Science, Economics, Economics and Mathematics, Mathematics, Social Sciences and Liberal Arts, BSBA and Economics and Data Science. The rate is the same across them.
Student activity charges of Rs 7,000 are listed beside the BBA line. IBA's notes say the figures are for Year 1 and follow the per credit hour rate approved for FY 2026-27. The page does not list how many credit hours a semester holds, so we cannot give a fixed semester bill.
To see how the rate scales, take a load of 15 credit hours. That is our example, not an IBA figure. Fifteen hours at Rs 31,500 comes to Rs 472,500 in tuition. If the 3 per cent sales tax applies, that adds Rs 14,175, for Rs 486,675. Your own load may be higher or lower.
- Find the credit hours for your semester in the programme outline.
- Multiply them by Rs 31,500.
- Add Rs 7,000 for student activity charges.
- Add 3 per cent sales tax if IBA applies it to you.
- Add hostel or transport if you need them.

The admission charge is Rs 125,000, paid once
IBA lists one-time admission charges of Rs 125,000. Graduate programmes also pay Rs 50,000 for the Business Orientation Programme or the Academic Immersion Module. These charges are separate from tuition, so budget for them before the first semester.
The fee page does not say when the admission charge falls due. Your offer letter and fee challan carry that date. IBA's schedule shows the Round 1 admission package for Fall 2027 is sent on 12 February 2027. Read how FAST-NU structures its own admission fee if you are comparing two offers.
Hostel costs Rs 126,400 to Rs 147,000 a semester
IBA's hostel fee depends on the room type and whether it has air conditioning. Without AC, a single room is Rs 133,600, a double Rs 128,600 and a room for three or more Rs 126,400. With AC the range is Rs 138,000 to Rs 147,000.
The page adds that AC rooms pay utility charges separately, at actual cost. Summer semester stays are charged pro rata. Transport is quoted by distance: Rs 54,000 for 0 to 20 km and Rs 78,000 for 21 km and beyond. IBA does not say whether those transport figures are per semester or per year, so we do not guess.

Graduate fees run from Rs 24,800 to Rs 39,400 per credit hour
The IBA morning MBA is Rs 39,400 per credit hour. Most MS programmes, including Computer Science, Management, Finance, Marketing and Data Science, are Rs 34,850. MS Development Studies, Journalism and General Psychology are Rs 24,800.
The Executive MBA is a flat Rs 4,000,000. IBA says students pay 30 per cent within two weeks of the offer, 30 per cent in the first six months and 40 per cent at the start of year two. Full time graduate programmes also pay the Rs 7,000 activity charge.

Sales tax and mid-year changes can raise the bill
IBA says a 3 per cent Sindh sales tax on services is charged on top of tuition and other charges where the law applies. It also announces fees once every academic year and may change them at any time, without notice.
Any future government tax or levy on educational services is billed to the student, according to the same notes. So treat any total as an estimate and ask the fee office for the final challan. If you cannot meet the cost, IBA offers need-based financial assistance, and outside funds exist such as the SEEF scholarship in Sindh, the PEEF scholarship in Punjab and the NBP interest-free student loan.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked on 14 October 2026, Pakistan time. We read the IBA fee structure page, titled for Fall 2026 admission, and the Fall 2027 admission schedule. The page does not state credit hours per semester, so our 15 credit hour sum is an example. IBA can change its fees without notice. Confirm the amount on your fee challan before you pay.
