How to Contact the Motorway Police (NHMP) in Pakistan: Helpline 130, Complaint Cell and Regional Numbers
Contact the National Highways and Motorway Police: the website links helpline 130, a complaint cell on 051-9320290 and three regional offices. Save the numbers.

Short answer: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) website links helpline 130 on its home page. Its telephone directory lists the complaint cell as 051-9320290 and the control room as 051-9320320 and 051-9320321. The head office is in Islamabad, and the general email is Info@nhmp.gov.pk.
A tyre bursts at 120 kilometres an hour. Or fog closes in, or a truck has stopped in the fast lane. You do not want to search for a number while you stand on a hard shoulder.
We read the NHMP website, including its home page, its traffic rules page and its telephone directory, on 14 October 2026. We did not call any number. Some NHMP links did not open from our network, and we say which ones below.
Helpline 130 is the number the website puts first
The NHMP home page shows a helpline icon linked to 130. The page does not say what the line handles, whether it runs all day, or if the call is free from every network. So treat it as the first number to try, and not as a promise of a particular service.

Have your details ready when someone answers: the motorway or highway name, the direction, the nearest interchange or kilometre marker, and a short description of the problem. That is the information any control room needs to send a patrol.
- Pull over safely and switch on your hazard lights.
- Call 130 and name the motorway or highway and your direction.
- Give the nearest interchange or kilometre marker.
- Describe the problem in one or two plain sentences.

Use the complaint cell for a complaint, not an emergency
The NHMP directory lists a complaint cell on 051-9320290. The website's Complaints link goes to the Citizen Portal run by the federal government. A complaint is for a behaviour or a service you want reviewed. An emergency on the road is a different thing.
When you complain, write down the date, time, place and the officer's name or number if you saw it. Say what happened in plain words, and attach photos if you have them. A short, exact complaint is easier to act on than a long one.
For a toll plaza problem, the right office may be the highway authority, not the police. See how to complain about a toll plaza to the NHA. For an M-Tag problem, use the M-Tag helpline guide.
The directory lists the control room and three regions
The NHMP directory lists the control room on 051-9320320 and 051-9320321, and the exchange on 051-9320294. It also gives numbers for three regional offices: North, Central and South. These are office lines and not the road helpline, so call them for a follow-up.
| Office | Number in the NHMP directory |
|---|---|
| Complaint cell | 051-9320290 |
| Control room | 051-9320320 and 051-9320321 |
| Exchange, head office | 051-9320294 |
| Additional IG, North region | 051-9278810 |
| Additional IG, Central region | 042-99332539 |
| Additional IG, South region | 021-99332201 and 021-99332203 |

The directory page shows two lists with different names of officers, so it may be out of date in places. We kept only the numbers that appear in both lists and left out officer names. Call the head office exchange if a number does not answer.
Check the road before you call
Many calls are about something you can check yourself. To see whether a motorway is open, use the motorway open or closed status guide. In winter, fog closures on Pakistan's motorways explains why a road shuts and when it reopens.
The NHMP site also lists a Travel Advisory service and a radio service, Radio FM 95, for road information. We could not open the Travel Advisory page, which is hosted on a separate address, so we cannot say how often it is updated.
Before a long drive, plan your stops. The motorway speed limits guide lists the limits, and a fine is easier to avoid than to dispute.
Know the rules the NHMP lists
The NHMP traffic rules page lists three legal documents: the National Highways Safety Ordinance 2000, the Drivers Licensing Authority Rules 2014 and the Dimension of Goods Transport Vehicles Rule 2017. The first covers safety on highways. The second covers NHMP driver licensing. The third limits the size of goods vehicles.
The home page also shows a licensing process in four steps: apply, theory test, practical test and licence. The licensing site address on the page did not open for us, so we cannot describe fees or sites. Check the NHMP site before you apply. If you get a fine, see how to check and pay a Motorway Police challan.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked on 14 October 2026, Pakistan time. We read the NHMP website, its telephone directory and its traffic rules page. We did not call any number. The NHMP's own online complaint form and licensing site did not open from our network. Confirm numbers on the NHMP site before you rely on them.
