Electric room heaters on Pakistani makers' own stores cost Rs 8,500 to Rs 20,230, read on 7 November 2026. The cheapest is the NasGas NAS-1200 sun heater. The lowest running cost is the Westpoint WF-5307 on its 500 watt setting, at half a unit an hour.

Most electric heater price lists stop at the rupee figure, and that is only half the bill. A heater you buy for Rs 8,500 can cost more than that in units across one winter. So each of the five models below has its maker's own picture, its store price and its units an hour. An electric heater turns each unit into about the same amount of heat, so watts tell you the cost, and the shape decides where the warmth goes.

5 electric heaters compared by price and units an hour

Five electric room heaters on the Westpoint and NasGas stores run from Rs 8,500 to Rs 20,230 and use half a unit to 2 units an hour. The table lists each with its settings. Units an hour are our sum from the watts on the listing.

Both stores show a higher price beside the selling price. PTC means the heating part is a ceramic block that limits its own temperature. We have not tested these heaters ourselves, so the verdicts below come from the rating and the price.

The 5 heaters, with official pictures and our verdict

Sun heaters warm the person they point at, so they suit one chair or one bed. Fan heaters warm the air in a small closed room, and they do it faster. Pick the type first and the price second, because the wrong type wastes every unit you pay for.

Rs 8,500. A 1,200 watt dish heater with a timer and swing. It uses 1.2 units an hour, and the listing gives only that one power figure.

This is the value pick. The timer alone is worth having, because a heater you forget at night is the most costly heater in the house.

Westpoint WF-4307 Fan Heater

Rs 12,325. A PTC ceramic fan heater with 1,000 and 2,000 watt settings and a fan-only mode. On low it uses 1 unit an hour.

This is our pick for a small bedroom. Warm the room on 2,000 watts for ten minutes, then drop to 1,000 and leave it there.

Westpoint WF-5147 Deluxe Fan Heater

Rs 11,560, shown as not available on 7 November 2026. A compact fan heater with 1,000 and 2,000 watt settings and cool, warm and hot air. It is the cheapest Westpoint on this list when stock returns.

Westpoint also lists three close models, the WF-5144, WF-5145 and WF-5146, at the same price and also not available. Ask a dealer before you plan around them.

Westpoint WF-5307 Deluxe Sun Heater

Rs 18,615. A dish heater with 500 and 1,000 watt settings. Its 500 watt setting is the lowest electric use on this list, at half a unit an hour.

For a person sitting at a desk, that is hard to beat. It costs more than double the NasGas sun heater, though.

Westpoint WF-6307 Fan Heater

Rs 20,230. A tall PTC ceramic heater with 1,000 and 2,000 watt settings and a fan-only mode. The heat figures match the WF-4307, which costs Rs 7,905 less.

You are paying for the tall tower shape. Buy it if you like the look, and do not buy it expecting a lower bill.

Four hours a night adds 60 to 240 units a month

Running these heaters four hours a night for 30 days adds 60 units on 500 watts, 120 units on 1,000 watts, 144 units on 1,200 watts and 240 units on 2,000 watts. That is the number to add to last winter's bill.

1,200 W1.2Rs 15.61Rs 39.72144
2,000 W2Rs 26.02Rs 66.20240

Rs 13.01 is the protected home rate for 101 to 200 units, and Rs 33.10 is the unprotected rate for 201 to 300 units, both from S.R.O. 279(I)/2026 as recorded by our team. These are energy charges only. The sums on electric heater cost per hour show every slab and what happens when a home crosses 200 units.

Units a month for an electric heater at four hours a night from 60 units at 500 watts to 240 units at 2,000 watts

The dearer sun heater takes 4 to 9 heating months to repay

The Westpoint WF-5307 costs Rs 10,115 more than the NasGas NAS-1200. On its 500 watt setting it saves 84 units a month at four hours a night, so that price gap takes about 9 heating months at the protected rate and under 4 at the higher one.

Here is the sum. At four hours a night, the NasGas uses 144 units a month and the Westpoint on low uses 60. That gap of 84 units is worth Rs 1,093 at Rs 13.01 and Rs 2,780 at Rs 33.10. But 500 watts gives much less heat than 1,200 watts, so this holds only if low is enough for you. Most homes in Karachi could live with it. A cold room in Quetta could not.

Buy a heater in 5 careful steps

A safe purchase takes five short checks at the shop. Look at the watt label, the plug and the tip-over cut-off, and ask for a warranty card. Then think about your room, because no heater label can tell you how big or draughty your own room is.

  1. Pick sun or fan: one person in one spot, or a whole small room.
  2. Read the watts on the label and divide by 1,000 for units an hour.
  3. Check the plug and socket. A 2,000 watt heater should not share a thin extension lead.
  4. Ask about tip-over and overheat cut-off, and check the PSQCA licence on the heater and its cable.
  5. Read your meter weekly and use the appliance watt sums so you see the winter jump before the bill does.
