Pakistan captain Fatima Sana plays for Perth Scorchers in the Women's Big Bash League 2026, known as WBBL|12, and is available for their first eight games, from 31 October to 21 November. Her first match is against Melbourne Renegades at the WACA Ground in Perth on Saturday 31 October.

It is her first Big Bash season, and it is why she misses Pakistan's next event in November. Below are her eight match dates and grounds, how to turn Australian start times into PKT, the Scorchers squad she joins and what her move means for Pakistan.

Fatima Sana joins Perth Scorchers as their third overseas player

Cricket Australia's WBBL|12 squad list names Fatima Sana, 24, as Perth Scorchers' third overseas player, alongside New Zealand's Sophie Devine and England's Freya Kemp. She is available for the club's opening eight games. The overseas draft has been scrapped, so clubs now sign overseas players directly.

She is only the second Pakistan woman to play in the WBBL. The first was Nida Dar, who played for Sydney Thunder in WBBL|05. That alone makes this a milestone for Pakistan women's cricket, whatever the scores.

Her eight Perth Scorchers games run from 31 October to 21 November

Perth Scorchers' first eight WBBL|12 matches are on 31 October, 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 19 and 21 November. Three are at the WACA Ground in Perth and five are away, in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. These are the games she is listed as available for.

The dates and grounds are as listed on Perth Scorchers' own fixture page, which we read on 28 October. The 8 November game against Melbourne Stars is listed at North Sydney Oval, a neutral ground. Scorchers play two more league games after her stint, on 27 and 29 November.

Turn a WBBL start time into PKT by subtracting 3 to 6 hours

The fixture page lists no start times yet. When they appear, subtract 3 hours for a game in Perth, 6 hours for Sydney or Melbourne, and 5 hours for Brisbane. A 6 pm start in Perth is 3 pm PKT; a 7 pm start in Sydney is 1 pm PKT.

How far PKT is behind each WBBL ground: Perth 3 hours, Brisbane 5 hours, Sydney and Melbourne 6 hours
  1. Find the local start time on the club or league fixture page.
  2. Check which city the ground is in.
  3. Subtract 3 hours for Perth, 5 for Brisbane, or 6 for Sydney and Melbourne.
  4. If the answer is below zero, add 24 hours and go back one day.
  5. Set a phone reminder for the PKT time, not the Australian one.

The gaps above are our own sums. Sydney and Melbourne are on daylight saving time in November, which is why they are six hours ahead of Pakistan and not five. Brisbane does not change its clocks.

She plays alongside Sophie Devine, Beth Mooney and Alana King

Perth Scorchers' 15-player WBBL|12 list includes Australia internationals Beth Mooney and Alana King and two other overseas players. Fatima Sana is the only Pakistani in any WBBL|12 squad, according to the same list.

AustraliansBeth Mooney, Alana King, Chloe Ainsworth, Amy Edgar, Mikayla Friday, Ebony Hoskin, Katie Mack, Ines McKeon, Lilly Mills, Taneale Peschel, Chloe Piparo, Ruby Strange

Sharing a dressing room with Devine and Mooney for a month is the real gain here. Pakistan's captain will bowl and bat against international-class players every few days, which no domestic tournament at home can offer.

Pakistan lose her for the Emerging Nations Trophy

The clash has a cost at home. Pakistan's emerging side plays the ICC Women's Emerging Nations Trophy from 12 to 25 November, and Muneeba Ali captains in her place. The board has accepted the trade, and so should fans.

Fatima had a quiet National Women's T20 with the bat, scoring 100 runs in the league stage for Strikers, who went on to win the title. In September she captained Pakistan to the Asian Games cricket bronze and led their wicket-takers there. The emerging squad is in our report on Pakistan's squad for the Emerging Nations Trophy, and her ranking is on our page of Pakistan women's ICC rankings.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read Cricket Australia's WBBL|12 squad list and Perth Scorchers' fixture page on 28 October 2026. Neither gave start times, so the PKT gaps are our own sums from each city's clock. Which of the ten league games make up her eight is our reading of "opening eight games". Her national T20 and Asian Games figures come from the board's tables and the official Asian Games results as recorded in our linked reports. We could not confirm a broadcaster in Pakistan.
