Short answer: File your SECP complaint first on the SDMS portal at sdms.secp.gov.pk. If you cannot, email complaints@secp.gov.pk, call the toll-free line 080088008 between 9 am and 5 pm on weekdays, send a WhatsApp message to 0326 7779999, or write to SECP at 63 Jinnah Avenue, Blue Area, Islamabad.

Your broker will not return your money. A company you invested in has stopped answering. A filing on the company registry is stuck. These are the problems the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) exists to look at, and it has several ways in. We read SECP's own contact and complaint pages on 22 October 2026 and list each channel, with what we could and could not confirm.

The SDMS portal is SECP's first choice for complaints

SECP says its Service Desk Management System (SDMS) at sdms.secp.gov.pk should be your first choice for lodging a concern. An online complaint leaves a record you can point to later. Keep the reference you are given, and write down the date you filed.

When we tried to open the SDMS address from our computer, the site refused the request, so we have not seen its forms and cannot list the fields or documents it asks for. We only know the address and SECP's advice to use it first. Open it in a normal browser and follow the screens.

Six ways to reach SECP: SDMS portal, email, toll-free phone, WhatsApp, fax and post

Email, phone and WhatsApp are the other ways in

SECP's contact page lists an email for complaints, a toll-free number, a WhatsApp number, a fax and a postal address. The page suggests email for after-hours submissions and holidays. Phone calls are taken from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, with a break from 1 pm to 2 pm.

Pick one channel and keep a copy of everything. A message sent at night to the complaints email has a timestamp, which helps if you must show when you first raised the matter.

Company filing problems have their own helpline

If your problem is with the eZfile system, where companies submit forms, SECP lists a separate address, xs.secp.gov.pk, and a phone number, +92 (51) 9195307. It answers from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. Examples are an annual return that will not upload, or a director change that has not been accepted.

The steps for those filings are in the guides to filing a company annual return with SECP and reporting a director change on Form 29. For a local matter, SECP's contact page also points to the Company Registration Office (CRO) in your city, each with its own phone and email.

SECP phone hours: 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, with lunch from 1 pm to 2 pm

What happens after you complain, and where to escalate

SECP's complaint page says that when the responsible officer reports a complaint as resolved, the Service Desk sends you a feedback form. If you are unhappy with the service, you can take your concern to the Service Desk In-Charge. Complaints about SECP staff themselves go to a Joint Director in its IEIRD department, at the Islamabad address above or on +92 51 9100462.

The page says the Service Desk audits complaints from time to time. It gives no deadline for a reply, so we cannot tell you how many days to wait. Do not assume a number from another body's rules.

Prepare your facts before you file

A clear complaint is faster to read. Say who you are complaining about, what happened, on which dates, how much money is involved and what you want. Attach proof such as account statements, receipts or emails. If the person is a broker, first check the licence and the compensation route.

Five steps to file a complaint with SECP
  1. Write a short summary with names, dates and amounts.
  2. Gather your proof: statements, receipts, emails and screenshots.
  3. File on sdms.secp.gov.pk. If it fails, email complaints@secp.gov.pk.
  4. Note the date and any reference number you receive.
  5. Follow up by phone on the toll-free line during office hours.

For a broker problem, see how to check a stockbroker's PSX licence and how to claim compensation when a broker defaults. If you want to wind up a company you own, the route is in closing a company with SECP.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 22 October 2026. Every channel, number, address and time above comes from SECP's contact page, and the escalation and feedback form details come from its complaint page, both read on 22 October 2026. SECP's site refused automated requests for its portal and for the complaint procedure document, so we read the pages through a text converter and could not see the SDMS forms, the documents they ask for or a reply deadline. Check the numbers on SECP's site before you call.
