Green Punjab App: File a Smog Complaint in Punjab Against Burning, Smoky Kilns and Vehicles, and Track It
The Green Punjab app takes smog complaints on waste burning, smoky kilns, vehicles and factories. See how to file and track one, or use WhatsApp or 1373.

The Green Punjab app is the Punjab government's smog complaint app: you use it to report garbage or hospital waste being burned, smoky brick kilns, smoke-emitting vehicles and factories running without smoke control, and then follow your complaint's status. It is made by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and is linked from the Environment Protection Department's own website.
Smog season is here, and a complaint is only useful if it reaches the office that can act. We read the department's page and the app's official store listing on 26 October 2026. Below you will find what the app covers, the departments behind it, what it does with your data, and the other official routes if the app does not work for you.
Green Punjab takes four kinds of smog complaint
The Environment Protection Department says the app takes complaints against people burning hospital waste or garbage, kilns and vehicles giving off smoke, and factories running without smoke control devices. Complaints are passed to the relevant authority and you are kept updated on status.
| What you see | Use Green Punjab? | Other official route |
|---|---|---|
| Garbage or rubbish being burned | Yes | EPA WhatsApp 0335-9232227 |
| Hospital waste being burned | Yes | EPA WhatsApp or email |
| Brick kiln giving off black smoke | Yes | EPA helpline 1373 |
| Bus, rickshaw or truck with heavy smoke | Yes | EPA WhatsApp, or traffic police |
| Factory without smoke control | Yes | EPA helpline 1373 |
| Crop stubble on fire | Not named on the EPD page | EPA WhatsApp, or the Pakistan Citizen Portal |
The store listing adds that the app links several bodies: PDMA, the metropolitan corporation, the traffic police, the Parks and Horticulture Authority, and the departments of agriculture, transport, industry and local government. So a smoky bus can go to transport or traffic police, and a kiln to the Environment Protection Agency, without you choosing the office yourself.

Download it from the link on the EPD website
Download Green Punjab from the Google Play link on the Environment Protection Department's home page. The listing names the Punjab Information Technology Board as developer, shows more than 50,000 downloads and was last updated on 18 November 2025.
Using the link from the government page protects you from copycat apps with similar names. We found only the Android listing linked from the department's site; we did not find an iPhone version linked there. iPhone users can use the WhatsApp number or the Pakistan Citizen Portal instead.
- Open epd.punjab.gov.pk and scroll to the Green Punjab section.
- Tap the Google Play link and check the developer reads Punjab Information Technology Board.
- Install the app and register with the details it asks for.
- Allow location when you file, so the complaint carries the spot.
- Choose the complaint type, add a clear photo and a short description.
- Submit, note the complaint number, and check its status later in the app.
Give a place, a time and a photo or the complaint stalls
A complaint that names the exact place, the time you saw the smoke and a clear photo is the one an inspector can act on. "Smoke near my house" gives an officer nowhere to go.
For a kiln or factory, a landmark and the name on the gate help most. For a vehicle, note the number plate, route and time; Punjab's October action against such vehicles is in the smoky vehicle crackdown. For a kiln, the steps for a written complaint are in reporting a smoking brick kiln or factory.
We did not file a test complaint ourselves, so we cannot tell you how fast a complaint is closed. Do not stand close to a burning pile or argue with the people at a kiln to get a photo. Take it from a safe distance.
The app collects your location and personal details
The Play Store data section says Green Punjab may collect location, personal information and four other types of data. It says no data is shared with third parties, that data is not encrypted, and that you can ask for your data to be deleted.
"Not encrypted" means data is not protected in transit according to the developer's own declaration. Think about that before you upload photos showing your own home or children. The developer's support email on the listing is pitb.mobileapps@gmail.com and its phone number is 042-99000296.

Use WhatsApp, 1373 or the Citizen Portal if the app fails
If the app will not install or open, EPA Punjab's complaint cell takes complaints on WhatsApp at 0335-9232227. The agency lists 1373 as its helpline, and complaints can also go through the Pakistan Citizen Portal or by email to ddisepa@punjab.gov.pk.
| Route | Contact |
|---|---|
| EPA complaint cell, WhatsApp | 0335-9232227 |
| EPA helpline | 1373 |
| EPA email | ddisepa@punjab.gov.pk |
| EPA office phones | 042-99231818, 042-99232236 |
| EPA office | Green Building, 27 College Road, Gulberg II, Lahore |
| Federal route | Pakistan Citizen Portal app |

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 27 October 2026. What the app covers and the status updates come from the Environment Protection Department's home page, read on 26 October 2026, which also gives the WhatsApp number, email, helpline, phones and address. The developer, download count, update date, linked institutions and data declarations come from the app's Google Play listing, read the same day. We did not install the app or file a complaint, so registration screens and response times are not described. The "other route" column is our guidance on the department's published channels, not a rule from the department.
