ICC Player of the Month 2026 Winners List: Men, Women and Pakistan's One Win So Far
ICC Player of the Month 2026 winners list for men and women, January to September, plus every Pakistan nominee and the October shortlist. See the full table.

Sahibzada Farhan is Pakistan's only ICC Player of the Month winner in 2026 so far, for February. The ICC has named 18 winners for January to September, nine men and nine women. Pakistan have had four nominations: Farhan, Fatima Sana, Gull Feroza and now Arafat Minhas, who is on the October shortlist.
We opened every monthly ICC announcement for 2026 and built the list below ourselves. It has the winner, country, the players beaten where the ICC named them, and the date the award was announced. Bangladesh and India lead the men's table with two winners each, level with New Zealand.
Nine men have won the award in 2026
The men's winners from January to September 2026 are Mitchell, Farhan, Samson, Rana, Mushfiqur, Smith, Greaves, Dinusha and Gill. India, Bangladesh and New Zealand have two winners each. Pakistan, the West Indies and Sri Lanka have one each.
| Month | Winner | Country | Announced |
|---|---|---|---|
| January | Daryl Mitchell | New Zealand | 28 February |
| February | Sahibzada Farhan | Pakistan | 23 March |
| March | Sanju Samson | India | 14 April |
| April | Nahid Rana | Bangladesh | 14 May |
| May | Mushfiqur Rahim | Bangladesh | 22 June |
| June | Nathan Smith | New Zealand | 20 July |
| July | Justin Greaves | West Indies | 18 August |
| August | Sonal Dinusha | Sri Lanka | 17 September |
| September | Shubman Gill | India | 13 October |
Three of those nine hurt Pakistan on the way. Mushfiqur scored 253 runs in Bangladesh's 2-0 Test sweep over Pakistan in May. Nahid Rana took eight wickets in a three-match ODI series against Pakistan in March, the month before his award. Greaves helped the West Indies to a win over Pakistan in July.

Nine women have won the award in 2026
The women's winners from January to September 2026 are Mostary, Reddy, Kerr, Wolvaardt, Bell, Wyatt-Hodge, Matthews, Barnett and Verma. India and England have two each. No Pakistan player has won the women's award this year, though two were nominated.
| Month | Winner | Country | Announced |
|---|---|---|---|
| January | Sobhana Mostary | Bangladesh | 28 February |
| February | Arundhati Reddy | India | 23 March |
| March | Melie Kerr | New Zealand | 14 April |
| April | Laura Wolvaardt | South Africa | 14 May |
| May | Lauren Bell | England | 22 June |
| June | Danni Wyatt-Hodge | England | 20 July |
| July | Hayley Matthews | West Indies | 18 August |
| August | Lucy Barnett | Isle of Man | 17 September |
| September | Shafali Verma | India | 13 October |
Lucy Barnett is the name to remember. The 19-year-old from the Isle of Man beat two Thai players to the August award after a century and two fifties in the Women's Continental Cup. She shows that a player from outside the big boards can win.
Pakistan have one win from four nominations
Four Pakistan players made ICC shortlists in the ten months of 2026 announced so far. Sahibzada Farhan won. Fatima Sana lost to Arundhati Reddy and Gull Feroza lost to Lauren Bell. Arafat Minhas is waiting for the October result.
| Month | Pakistan nominee | Why the ICC named them | Outcome |
|---|---|---|---|
| February | Sahibzada Farhan | 383 runs at the Men's T20 World Cup, average 76.60 | Won |
| February | Fatima Sana | All-round form as captain | Lost to Arundhati Reddy |
| May | Gull Feroza | 256 runs in three ODIs against Zimbabwe | Lost to Lauren Bell |
| October | Arafat Minhas | 149 runs and nine wickets, including 6 for 40 | Not yet announced |
Farhan was the first Pakistan man to win since Haris Rauf in November 2024, the ICC said. He was the top run scorer at that T20 World Cup, with two hundreds. That is a 15-month gap, and it tells you how rarely the award comes this way. How Sahibzada Farhan's T20I ranking moved since is a separate story.

October's shortlists were announced on 5 November
The October shortlists are out and the winners are still to come. Arafat Minhas is up against Marco Jansen and Shai Hope. On the women's side, Deepti Sharma, Sobhana Mostary and Annabel Sutherland are shortlisted, and Mostary could win twice in one year.
Arafat earned his place through the ODI tri-series, where he took 6 for 40 against England and was Player of the Series. The ICC says winners come in the second week of each month, though 2026's dates show it often runs later. How to vote for Arafat Minhas is on its own page.
The award is decided mostly by a voting panel
The ICC Voting Academy counts for 90 per cent of the result and registered fans count for the other 10 per cent. So fan campaigns on social media can help a player, but they cannot win the award alone.
- The ICC names three nominees for each award, men and women.
- Voting opens on the ICC website, and fans register to take part.
- The Voting Academy's vote counts for 90 per cent.
- Fans' votes count for 10 per cent, and the winner is announced later.
Performances must fall inside the calendar month. That is why the Sri Lanka Tests from 9 November can only count for November's award, not October's. Pakistan's 1st Test against Sri Lanka starts the race for that month.
