Jazz's prepaid SMS package is the Weekly WhatsApp and SMS Bundle: 1,500 SMS and 25 MB of WhatsApp data for Rs 34 a week, on *101*1*07#. Postpaid users get three monthly SMS bundles from Rs 75 to Rs 250 on *446*4*1#, plus a one-time 2,000 SMS add-on for Rs 100. Below is every SMS package Jazz lists, what each SMS really costs, and the two paid SMS services that can switch on without you noticing.

We read each package page on Jazz's website on 24 October 2026. Prices are as Jazz prints them, including tax. We did not subscribe, because we have no Jazz SIM.

Jazz has one prepaid SMS bundle and four postpaid ones

Prepaid has the Weekly WhatsApp and SMS Bundle at Rs 34. Postpaid has JSMS-1, JSMS-2 and JSMS-3 as monthly bolt-ons, and the Jazz 2000 Add-On as a one-time pack. Without any package, Jazz charges Rs 2.5 for each SMS.

Jazz's postpaid page prints the same code, *446*4*1#, against all three JSMS bundles. It is probably a menu that offers all three, but the page does not say so. Dial it and pick from the list that appears.

Prepaid users who want SMS with minutes and data should also look at the all-in-one bundles. Most of the Jazz weekly all-in-one bundles include thousands of Jazz SMS.

Jazz SMS packages for prepaid and postpaid with prices and codes

An SMS costs about 2 paisa in the weekly bundle and Rs 2.5 without it

Rs 34 for 1,500 SMS works out to about Rs 0.02 per SMS. The postpaid Jazz 2000 Add-On costs Rs 0.05 per SMS. Sending without any package costs Rs 2.5 each, more than 100 times the bundle rate.

These per SMS figures are our own division of Jazz's prices. They show why even a light texter should buy the weekly bundle. Fourteen SMS at the base rate cost Rs 35, which is already more than the whole weekly bundle.

The postpaid JSMS bundles cost more per SMS: Rs 0.30 for JSMS-1 and about Rs 0.17 for JSMS-2. But they add 250 MB or 750 MB of WhatsApp data, so they suit people who mix SMS with WhatsApp. The call, SMS and data rates without a package differ on each of the four networks.

How to subscribe to a Jazz SMS package

Prepaid users dial *101*1*07# for the weekly bundle. Postpaid users dial *446*4*1# for a JSMS bundle or *446*4*2# for the 2,000 SMS add-on. You can also use the SIMOSA app or send "Hi" to Jazz WhatsApp on 0300-3008000.

  1. Check you have at least Rs 34 balance for the prepaid bundle.
  2. Dial *101*1*07#, or the postpaid code, and press call.
  3. Pick the package if a menu appears.
  4. Wait for the confirmation SMS with the SMS count and expiry.
  5. Check what is left with the status code, which Jazz prices at Rs 0.06, or free in SIMOSA. Postpaid users dial *2222#, which Jazz says is free.

Jazz allows several subscriptions of the weekly bundle at once. The postpaid JSMS bolt-ons are different: you can hold only one at a time, and a new one replaces the old.

Steps to subscribe to a Jazz SMS package

Postpaid bolt-ons renew every month until you stop them

Jazz says JSMS-1, JSMS-2 and JSMS-3 renew automatically on your bill date. The Jazz 2000 Add-On does not renew. Take a bolt-on only if you want it every month.

If you join in the middle of a billing month, Jazz pro-rates both the price and the SMS until the 2nd of the next month, which is the postpaid bill date. Once the WhatsApp data in a bundle runs out, Jazz charges Rs 3.025 plus tax per MB, in 512 KB steps. On prepaid, extra data after the weekly bundle costs Rs 2.25 per MB.

The weekly prepaid bundle is marked as a limited-time offer on Jazz's page, and Jazz says it can change it at any time. Check the price in the confirmation SMS every time.

Smart SMS and Fauri SMS are paid services, not packages

Jazz Smart SMS guarantees delivery to a Jazz number that is switched off, for up to 30 days, at Rs 1.40 a day on prepaid. Jazz Fauri SMS sends a ready message after an unanswered call, at Rs 1.70 per SMS. Neither uses your free bundle SMS.

Smart SMS. You subscribe with *6070# or by sending Sub to 6070, then add 66 before the number, as in 66030XXXXXXXX. Without a subscription, each Smart SMS costs Rs 0.60. Jazz's page calls that figure plus tax in one line and including tax in another, so expect a little more. Postpaid pays Rs 15 plus tax a month. You can guarantee 10 SMS a day.

Fauri SMS. When your call is not answered or is rejected, a flash menu offers three messages: "Please call me", "Mujhey call karain" and "Call me back when free". Pressing a number sends it, and Rs 1.70 is charged to you. Jazz says free bundle SMS cannot be used, and if your balance is zero, the charge is taken on your next recharge. To block Fauri SMS, Jazz says to call 111.

That last point is worth repeating. A Rs 1.70 tap after every missed call adds up. If you see Fauri SMS charges you did not mean to make, block it on 111, and check for other active services with the free Jazz unsubscribe codes.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read Jazz's Weekly WhatsApp and SMS Bundle page, its postpaid SMS offers page, and its Jazz Smart SMS and Jazz Fauri SMS pages on 24 October 2026. The Rs 2.5 base SMS rate comes from the terms on Jazz's monthly package pages, read the same day. The per SMS costs are our own arithmetic. Jazz prints one code for all three JSMS bundles and two tax wordings for the Smart SMS rate, and we have reported both as printed. We did not subscribe to any package.
