The return Khyber Mail (2DN) leaves Peshawar Cantt at 22:00 and reaches Karachi Cantt at 06:20 two days later. Khyber Mail takes about 32 hours from Karachi to Peshawar
The 1UP runs 31 hours 50 minutes from Karachi Cantt to Peshawar Cantt. The 2DN takes 32 hours 20 minutes the other way. Both start late in the evening, so you spend two nights on board.

Look at the Rawalpindi times. The 1UP stops there at 02:15 and the 2DN at 01:35, both in the small hours. Arrange a pickup in advance, and keep your phone charged.
Khyber Mail fares run from Rs 1,250 to Rs 16,550
Khyber Mail carries four classes, including AC Sleeper. These are the prices the booking system showed for 5 November 2026.

That makes Khyber Mail AC Sleeper Rs 900 cheaper than Tezgam's from Karachi to Rawalpindi, at Rs 16,550 against Rs 17,450. Tezgam gets there about an hour and a half sooner. If you are not in a hurry, Khyber Mail is the cheaper sleeper.
Children aged 3 to 10 pay half fare, according to the Pakistan Railways terms and conditions. Students, blind passengers and some others get a concession too, listed in the Pakistan Railways concession fares.

Book Khyber Mail online or at a reservation office
Pakistan Railways sells seats up to 90 days ahead, says its official FAQ. Its list of trains with catering includes 1UP and 2DN Khyber Mail, so meals are sold on board.
- Open pakrailways.gov.pk or the Rabta app and sign in.
- Enter your From and To stations, for example Multan Cantt to Peshawar Cantt.
- Pick the date and the 1UP or 2DN Khyber Mail.
- Choose your class and a seat or berth.
- Pay with JazzCash, Easypaisa or another option shown, and keep the SMS.
When Khyber Mail is late or you cancel
A train this long collects delays, and winter fog in Punjab adds more. If Khyber Mail is cancelled or runs more than 6 hours late, an e-ticket refund carries no deduction, but you need an application signed by the station master. Otherwise cancelling costs 10, 20 or 30 per cent depending on how close to departure you are. Free luggage is 50 kg in AC Sleeper and 20 kg in every other class.
