KIBOR in October 2026 rose on almost every tenor. The 1-year offer rate went from 12.43% on 30 September to 12.79% on 26 October, and the 6-month offer from 12.08% to 12.45%. Below is every working day's KIBOR from the State Bank of Pakistan's daily sheets, what the rise means for a loan, and how to find any day's rate yourself.

KIBOR (Karachi Interbank Offered Rate) is the benchmark most bank loans in Pakistan are priced on. On 26 October the State Bank also raised its policy rate to 12% from 27 October, so the next fixings will start a new chapter. We read all 19 daily KIBOR sheets for 30 September to 26 October on sbp.org.pk on 26 October 2026.

The 1-year KIBOR offer rose 0.36 point in October 2026

The 1-year KIBOR offer rate was 12.43% on 30 September and 12.79% on 26 October, up 0.36 point. The 6-month rose 0.37 point to 12.45% and the 3-month 0.18 point to 12.03%. The 1-month barely moved, from 11.98% to 11.99%.

KIBOR offer rates on 30 September and 26 October 2026 compared

Most of the rise came in the first two days of the month. On 1 October the 6-month offer jumped 0.18 point and the 1-year 0.11 point. On 2 October the 1-year added another 0.10 point. After that the longer rates crept up a few hundredths at a time.

That pattern fits a market expecting the policy rate to go up. By 26 October the 6-month and 1-year rates were already above the new 12% policy rate, before it took effect. The SBP rate rise to 12% covers the decision itself.

The sheets also give 1-week, 2-week, 1-month and 9-month rates. On 26 October they were 11.89%, 11.91%, 11.99% and 12.74% offer. For daily single readings with more context, see the KIBOR rate on 22 October.

The gap between bid and offer is fixed at 0.25 or 0.50 point

On every October sheet the 3-month and 6-month offer is exactly 0.25 point above the bid, and the 1-week, 2-week, 1-month, 9-month and 1-year offer is 0.50 point above. So when one side moves, the other moves by the same amount.

Banks price a loan on the offer rate, the rate at which banks say they will lend. The bid is the rate at which they say they will borrow. Some deposit products, such as floating-rate term deposits, are priced on KIBID, the bid side, minus a margin.

A 0.36 point KIBOR rise adds a few hundred rupees a month

A KIBOR-linked loan resets on the date in its contract, using KIBOR on a set day. If a reset used 30 September's 1-year rate and the next uses 26 October's, a Rs 2,000,000 three-year car loan at KIBOR plus 3.5 costs Rs 356 more a month.

These are our own examples with the standard instalment formula, not any bank's offer. Your loan papers say which KIBOR tenor, which fixing date and what margin apply. The KIBOR rate today explains how resets work in more detail.

How to find KIBOR for any day yourself

The State Bank posts each day's KIBOR on its home page panel and as a one-page PDF. The PDF lists seven tenors with bid and offer, and says the data source is Refinitiv. No sign-in is needed.

  1. Open sbp.org.pk and find the KIBOR box in the Economic Data panel for today's 3, 6 and 12 month rates.
  2. For every tenor, open Financial Market Data under Our Operations and follow the KIBOR link.
  3. Download the PDF for the date you need. Each sheet carries its date at the top.
  4. Match the tenor in your loan papers, for example 1-year or 6-month, and read the offer column.
  5. Add your bank's margin to get your rate, then check it against the bank's reset letter.

If your bank's figure does not match the sheet for the fixing date in your contract, ask the bank in writing which date and tenor it used.
