KP Opens Flu and Meningitis Vaccination Centre in Peshawar for Saudi Travellers
KP's health minister opened a flu and meningitis vaccination centre in Peshawar for Saudi travellers. Who needs it from 15 October, fees and the NADRA card.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's health minister, Khaleeq ur Rehman, opened an influenza and meningitis vaccination centre at the Federal Civil Surgeon Hospital in Peshawar on Wednesday 30 September 2026. It is for people who need these vaccines to travel abroad, mainly to Saudi Arabia. The minister said the vaccines become mandatory for these travellers from 15 October.
That date matters if you are flying from Peshawar for Umrah, Hajj or a Saudi work visa. The vaccine has to be in your body at least 10 days before you land in Saudi Arabia, so a mid-October flight means a visit to the centre in the first days of October.
The opening was reported on 30 September and 1 October 2026. When we checked on 1 October, the KP Health Department's website at healthkp.gov.pk listed Khaleeq ur Rehman as health minister but carried no notice about the centre. So the details of the opening below are reported, not read on an official page.
KP health minister opens the Peshawar vaccination centre
The new centre is at the Federal Civil Surgeon Hospital, Peshawar. It gives influenza and meningitis vaccines to people travelling abroad. The minister inspected it on 30 September, was briefed on the process, and promised more centres at divisional level across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The minister said the province would set up similar centres in its divisions, so people do not have to travel to Peshawar. No list of divisions or dates was given.
The vaccination rule itself comes from Border Health Services Pakistan (BHS), the federal health ministry's airport health department, not from the province. BHS director Dr Murtaza and the Bacha Khan International Airport health officer attended the opening, reports said.

Who needs the vaccines from 15 October
The minister named Umrah and Hajj pilgrims and workers going to Saudi Arabia for jobs. Earlier BHS statements in September also covered people staying in Saudi Arabia more than six months. Saudi Arabia itself requires the meningitis vaccine for every Umrah pilgrim.
The Saudi rule and the Pakistani rule are not the same, and the difference affects what you pay for. We read the Saudi health requirements for Umrah 1447H (2026), published by the Saudi Ministry of Health. They say:
- Every Umrah pilgrim, from every country, must have a meningococcal ACYW vaccine.
- A conjugate vaccine is valid for 5 years. A polysaccharide vaccine is valid for 3 years.
- The dose must be given at least 10 days before arrival in Saudi Arabia.
- Travellers from Pakistan must also have at least one dose of oral or injected polio vaccine.
- The seasonal flu vaccine is only advised, and only for Hajj.
So the flu shot is a Pakistani BHS condition, not a Saudi one. BHS has said it protects travellers and cuts pressure on hospitals. For a pilgrim the practical point is simple. From 15 October, the check at Peshawar airport is reported to cover both.
Hajj pilgrims on the government scheme also get health instructions through the Hajj policy and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Follow those as well.

Fees, documents and the NADRA certificate
The certificate fee on NADRA's immunisation portal is Rs 100. No official vaccine price has been published. Reports put the flu shot at Rs 1,720 and the meningitis shot at Rs 2,785, plus a Rs 150 NADRA charge. Reports differ, so ask at the counter.
We read the Rs 100 fee on the NIMS FAQ page on 1 October 2026. Some reports split about Rs 4,500 as flu plus meningitis. Others say a similar sum covers three vaccines, including polio drops that are normally free. We cannot tell which is right.
| Item | Amount | Status |
|---|---|---|
| NADRA vaccination certificate | Rs 100 | Read on nims.nadra.gov.pk |
| Influenza vaccine | Rs 1,720 | Reported |
| Meningitis vaccine | Rs 2,785 | Reported |
| NADRA service charge | Rs 150 | Reported |
| Opening hours | Not published | Not found |
The NIMS portal asks for your CNIC number, the CNIC issue date and a mobile number before it issues a certificate. Take your original CNIC to the centre. We would also take your passport and your visa or booking, because the certificate is checked against your travel at the airport. No official list of documents has been published.
The certificate itself is the NADRA vaccination card for Umrah, a digital record of your doses linked to your CNIC.
How to get vaccinated in Peshawar before you fly
Go to the centre at least 10 days before your flight, with your CNIC. Pay, get the injections, then download the NADRA certificate. Keep a printed copy for the airport. The opening hours are not published, so go early in the day.
- Check your flight date and count back at least 10 days.
- Go to the vaccination centre at the Federal Civil Surgeon Hospital, Peshawar, with your original CNIC.
- Pay the fees and confirm your details at the NADRA counter.
- Get the meningitis and flu injections, and polio drops if asked.
- Download the certificate from nims.nadra.gov.pk and print it.
Earlier reports, on 24 September, described a centre at the Civil Surgeon's Office in Peshawar with 20 counters for men and women and two NADRA counters being set up inside it. We could not confirm from an official source whether the minister opened the same site or a new one.
The flu vaccine in Pakistan is also sold privately. Ask at the centre whether a private dose can go on your NADRA record before you rely on one.
