Lahore Ring Road Toll Rates for Cars, Buses and Trucks
Lahore Ring Road toll rates: a reported Rs 70 for cars, Rs 140 for wagons and Rs 350 for buses. The law, the Rs 500 fine for not paying and exemptions.
A car pays a reported Rs 70 toll on the Lahore Ring Road, up from Rs 60. Wagons and coasters pay Rs 140, buses Rs 350, and heavy trucks up to Rs 700. These rates were reported in December 2025. We could not find them on an official page, so treat them as reported, not confirmed.
The Lahore Ring Road is the loop that carries traffic around the city, linking the airport, Thokar Niaz Baig, the motorways and the Sialkot road. For thousands of drivers it is the daily route to work. So the toll adds up, even at Rs 70.
We tried to read the rates at source on 28 September 2026. The Ring Road Authority's websites did not open, because the addresses would not resolve. We did read the law that lets the Authority charge tolls, and the fine for driving through without paying. Both are below.
Lahore Ring Road toll rates by vehicle
The reported rates are Rs 70 for a car or jeep, Rs 140 for a Hiace, wagon, minibus or coaster, Rs 350 for a bus, Rs 420 for a two or three axle truck, and Rs 700 for a larger truck or trailer.

The rise was reported as 16.67 per cent, applied to the Northern Loop, the Southern Loop and the Eastern Bypass. We checked the arithmetic. Every old rate multiplied by 1.1667 gives the new one, so the table is at least consistent with itself.
What we could not find is the notification. The rates came from Authority officials speaking to the press, not a published order. If the booth charges you something different, the booth is right and this table is out of date.
Why the rates are marked reported
The Ring Road Authority's own websites did not load on 28 September 2026, and no government page we could reach printed the rate table. So we have no official source for the numbers. That is why every rate here carries the word "reported".
We tried the addresses lrra.punjab.gov.pk and lrra.gop.pk. Both failed because the names would not resolve, which means the address itself did not answer. That is different from a site being slow or blocking us. We also checked the National Highway Authority's toll notification dated 6 July 2026. It covers national highways and federal motorways, but not the Lahore Ring Road.
That last point makes sense. The Ring Road is a Punjab road, run by a provincial authority, not by NHA. So the national motorway toll rates do not apply to it.
Who sets the Ring Road toll, and where the money goes
The Punjab Ring Road Authority Act 2011 lets the Authority charge tolls on ring roads, but only with the Punjab government's approval. The same law says revenue from a ring road must be spent on that ring road. So the toll pays for its upkeep.
We read the Act in the Punjab Code. It was first called the Lahore Ring Road Authority Act. An amendment in 2021 renamed the body the Punjab Ring Road Authority and widened it to cover strategic roads and economic corridors too. Most people, and the press, still call it LRRA.
The Act's schedule of fines has a line for entering a ring road without paying the toll. The fine is Rs 500 for a car or jeep. For a public service vehicle, a goods carrier, a trailer or a trolley it is Rs 1,000.
Vehicles that do not pay the Ring Road toll
Emergency and official vehicles are reported to be exempt. That includes ambulances, fire engines, funeral vans, police vehicles on duty and defence vehicles. Vehicles of the President's Office, the PM Secretariat, Governor House and the CM Secretariat are also reported exempt.
Flag cars and vehicles of foreign dignitaries on official visits were also listed. The exemptions came from the same December 2025 reports as the rates. We could not check them against an official order either. Private cars get no exemption, however short the trip.
How to pay the Lahore Ring Road toll
Pay at the toll plaza booth. We could not confirm on an official page whether M-Tag is accepted, so carry cash. Keep change ready for the car rate, which is a reported Rs 70.
- Keep at least Rs 100 in small notes for a car, or the right amount for your vehicle.
- Choose a cash lane at the toll plaza, unless you see M-Tag lanes marked for your vehicle.
- Pay the amount shown at the booth, not the one in this table, if they differ.
- Keep the receipt. It proves you paid if you are stopped further on.
- Never drive through without paying. The fine is Rs 500 for a car.
M-Tag is NHA's electronic tag for national motorways. If you do use one on the M-2 or M-11 after leaving the Ring Road, check your M-Tag balance first. The extra toll for driving without an M-Tag applies to NHA roads, not to the Ring Road.
