Meezan Bank IBAN Number: Format, Example and How to Generate Yours Online
A Meezan Bank IBAN has 24 characters. See the format digit by digit, Meezan's own example, the steps on its IBAN Generator and how to validate a number first.

A Meezan Bank IBAN has 24 characters: PK, two check digits, MEZN, two zeros, your 4-digit branch code and your 10-digit account number. For branch 0101 and account 1234567890, Meezan's own example IBAN is PK10MEZN0001011234567890. You can generate yours on Meezan's IBAN Generator or read it on your bank statement. Below is the format piece by piece, the steps for the generator, and how to check an IBAN before you share it.
We read Meezan's IBAN Generator and IBAN FAQ page on 27 October 2026. The format and the example are copied from it. Getting even one digit wrong sends money to the wrong place or bounces it back after days, so it pays to understand what each part means.
A Meezan IBAN is your branch code and account number with a prefix
Meezan's IBAN does not replace your account number. It wraps it. The first eight characters identify Pakistan, the check digits and Meezan. Then come two zeros, the branch code and the 10-digit account number you already have.
| Position | Characters | Meaning | In Meezan's example |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 2 | 2 letters | Country code | PK |
| 3 to 4 | 2 digits | Check digits | 10 |
| 5 to 8 | 4 letters | Bank code | MEZN |
| 9 to 10 | 2 digits | Always zeros | 00 |
| 11 to 14 | 4 digits | Branch code | 0101 |
| 15 to 24 | 10 digits | Account number | 1234567890 |

The check digits are the part you cannot guess. They are calculated from the rest of the number, so two people at the same branch have different check digits. That is why you should never build an IBAN by hand and send it to someone.
Meezan account numbers have 10 digits after a 4-digit branch code
Meezan describes the account number inside the IBAN as your existing 10-digit Meezan account number, with the 4-digit branch code in front of it. Together they make the 14 digits many customers see as their full account number.
So a Meezan account number written as 0101-1234567890 is branch 0101 and account 1234567890. Meezan's SMS banking page also says old Islamic Banker account numbers no longer work for its SMS services, only the new numbers. If you hold an old passbook with a different format, ask the branch for your current number before you generate an IBAN.
Meezan's IBAN Generator converts your account number in under a minute
Open the IBAN Generator on meezanbank.com, enter your branch code and account number, tick the disclaimer box and press Generate. Meezan warns that a wrong branch or a wrong account number gives you a wrong IBAN, and the bank takes no responsibility for that.
- Open meezanbank.com and go to Quick Links, then IBAN Generator.
- Fill in your branch code. Check it against your cheque book or statement.
- Type your existing Meezan account number.
- Tick the box that says you have read the disclaimer.
- Press Generate and copy the 24-character IBAN exactly.

The generator only converts numbers. It does not look up your account. If you mistype one digit, it still produces an IBAN that looks fine. That is the trap.
Your Meezan statement shows the IBAN that the bank itself holds
Meezan says the IBAN is printed on the bank statements it sends every six months. That is the safest copy, because the bank printed it rather than a calculator. Use it to double-check anything you generated online.
If you do not keep paper statements, you can request a soft copy. The options for each bank are in bank statement online in Pakistan. For the IBAN of an account at any other bank, the general method is in IBAN number check in Pakistan.
Meezan's IBAN Validator checks a number before you share it
The same page has an IBAN Validator. Paste the IBAN, tick the disclaimer and press Validate. Meezan says it checks the format, the length and the check digits against the account number. It does not confirm who owns the account.
Use it when somebody sends you a Meezan IBAN for a payment. A valid result means the number is well formed. It does not mean the person is genuine. Confirm the account title in your banking app before you press send.
Meezan says the IBAN is used for money from abroad
Meezan's FAQ says the IBAN can be used to receive inward remittances from abroad. Relatives sending money through a bank or a transfer service will usually ask for it, together with your full name exactly as the account shows it.
The FAQ wording is short and may be older than current practice. For money from abroad, the receiving side is covered in remittance not received in Pakistan, which explains how to trace a transfer that has not arrived.

Common questions
How many digits are in a Meezan Bank IBAN?
24 characters in total: PK, 2 check digits, MEZN, 00, a 4-digit branch code and a 10-digit account number.
What is an example of a Meezan Bank IBAN?
Meezan's own example is PK10MEZN0001011234567890, for branch 0101 and account 1234567890. It is a sample, not a real account.
Where do I find my Meezan IBAN?
On the bank statements Meezan sends every six months, or by using the IBAN Generator on meezanbank.com.
Does the IBAN replace my Meezan account number?
No. Meezan says existing account numbers will not be replaced. The IBAN simply contains them.
Can I make a Meezan IBAN myself?
Do not. The two check digits are calculated, so a hand-built IBAN is almost always wrong. Use the generator and check it against your statement.
What does MEZN mean in the IBAN?
It is the 4-letter bank code Meezan uses in its IBAN. Meezan's FAQ describes it as the bank's SWIFT code letters.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 27 October 2026. We read Meezan Bank's IBAN Generator page at meezanbank.com, including the generator and validator disclaimers and the IBAN FAQ with the 24-character format and the example PK10MEZN0001011234567890, and Meezan's SMS banking page for the note on old account numbers. We did not generate an IBAN for a real account, because that needs a live account number. We could not confirm whether the Meezan app shows the IBAN on its account details screen.
