NADRA Website Not Opening: Official Sites, Pak ID App and Alternatives

If a NADRA website will not open, it is usually not down. On 22 September 2026 at about 1:15pm we tested nadra.gov.pk, id.nadra.gov.pk and e-sahulat.nadra.gov.pk. All three answered from NADRA's web shield, which blocks automated checks like ours. For CNIC and NICOP applications, NADRA's own route is the PAK IDENTITY app, which was updated on 18 September 2026.

We did not see an outage, and we do not claim one. Below are the official NADRA addresses and apps as they stood on the day we checked, the other ways to get the same work done, and how to tell a real outage from a problem on your own phone or connection.

Official NADRA websites and what we found

A "403" means the server received our request and refused it. It is not the same as the site being offline. NADRA's sites answered through Akamai, a large web security network, in well under a second. That is what a working site behind a shield looks like. In a normal browser on a normal connection, these pages usually open.

One address that people guess, pakid.nadra.gov.pk, does not exist. Our lookup returned "Non-existent domain". Do not type made-up NADRA addresses into your browser, because look-alike sites wait for exactly that.

What the PAK IDENTITY app does

NADRA's own App Store listing says the app can do these jobs:

• CNIC modification, renewal, and reprint of a lost card.
• New NICOP, NICOP modification, renewal, and reprint of a lost NICOP.

The listing says you create an account with an email, a mobile number and fingerprint checks, and later log in by fingerprint or face. It takes your photo, fingerprints and signature through the phone's camera and screen, and checks your attester by OTP. So you do not need a scanner. You do need a phone with a good camera and a SIM that can receive codes.

The app had a rating of 4.7 from more than 52,000 ratings on the App Store on the day we checked. Download it only from the store, and check the publisher reads National Database and Registration Authority.

How to tell a NADRA outage from a problem on your side

1. Open another big site, such as a news site. If that also fails, your internet is the problem, not NADRA.
2. Switch networks. Try mobile data instead of Wi-Fi, or the other way round. If NADRA opens on one and not the other, the blocked network is the cause.
3. Read the error. "Access Denied" or "403" means the site is up and refused your connection. "This site can't be reached" or "DNS error" points to your connection or a mistyped address.
4. Turn off VPN and ad blockers. Security networks like the one in front of NADRA often block VPN traffic and unusual browsers.
5. Clear the browser cache, or try a private window or a different browser.
6. Check the address. It must end in nadra.gov.pk. Anything else is not NADRA.
7. Use the app. If the website still fails, the PAK IDENTITY app is a separate route and may work when the browser does not.

If none of this helps and the problem lasts more than a few hours, it may be a real outage. Wait and try later rather than paying someone to "fix" your application.

Other ways to get NADRA work done

You do not have to use the website at all for most jobs:

• Track an application by SMS. Text your tracking ID to 8400.
• Visit an e-Sahulat franchise. The franchise finder loaded normally for us.
• Go to a NADRA Registration Centre. Take your old CNIC and the fee.
• Lost card. The PAK IDENTITY app handles a reprint of a lost CNIC, and so does a NADRA Registration Centre.

NADRA's general help line is widely listed as 051-111-786-100. We could not confirm it on NADRA's own site, because the site blocked our checks, so treat it as reported.

What happened to the Pak-ID website

Reports in January 2025 said NADRA had closed the Pak-ID website on 17 January 2025 and moved all its services to the app. Today, id.nadra.gov.pk still answers requests, though we could not see past the shield to learn whether it still accepts applications. The app is the route NADRA itself describes as its online identity service in its store listing, so start there.

Last checked on 22 September 2026, around 1:15pm Pakistan time. We requested nadra.gov.pk, www.nadra.gov.pk, id.nadra.gov.pk and e-sahulat.nadra.gov.pk, which returned 403 with an Akamai timing header. The e-Sahulat franchise finder returned HTTP 200. We read the PAK IDENTITY listing through Apple's public lookup service and confirmed the Google Play listing for pk.gov.nadra.pakid.
