Check Who Umpires Each Pakistan ODI Tri-Series Match: Jeffrey Crowe Referees All Seven
Who umpires each Pakistan ODI tri-series match, 18 to 31 October 2026: referee Jeffrey Crowe, seven umpires and the third and fourth umpire for all seven games.

Short answer: Jeffrey Crowe of New Zealand is the match referee for all seven matches of the Pakistan ODI tri-series, from 18 to 31 October 2026. Seven umpires share the matches. Wayne Knights and Asif Yaqoob stand in the opener, and Wayne Knights and Ahsan Raza stand in the final.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) named the playing control teams on 29 September 2026. We read that release in full on 13 October and turned its list into one table, match by match. Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka play each other twice, then the top two meet in Lahore.
Jeffrey Crowe referees all seven tri-series matches
Jeffrey Crowe is a member of the ICC Elite Panel of match referees. He leads the playing control team in every match from 18 to 31 October. The PCB says he has refereed 350 ODIs and recently became the second person to referee 700 international matches.
The match referee does not umpire. The referee watches that the match follows the rules and the playing conditions, and applies the Code of Conduct if a player breaks it. Crowe is a former New Zealand Test cricketer, and he first refereed a Test in Faisalabad in October 2004.
Seven umpires cover the tri-series
Two umpires are from the ICC Elite Panel: Pakistan's Ahsan Raza and Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid of Bangladesh. The other five are Wayne Knights of New Zealand, and Asif Yaqoob, Nasir Hussain, Rashid Riaz Waqar and Faisal Khan Aafreedi of Pakistan.
Wayne Knights already has 37 ODIs as an umpire, according to the PCB. The release says Knights and Sharfuddoula take turns as third umpire through the series, and that Sharfuddoula starts in that role in the opener.
Match-by-match appointments
Each match has two on-field umpires, a third umpire for replays and a fourth umpire for support. The table below follows the PCB's list. The final's two teams are still to be decided.

The match dates and grounds agree with the full list in our tri-series fixtures report. Ahsan Raza stands in only the last two matches. Asif Yaqoob stands in two, and Faisal Khan Aafreedi, Rashid Riaz Waqar and Nasir Hussain in one each.
Wayne Knights has four on-field matches, the most of any umpire
Wayne Knights stands on the field in four of the seven matches, and Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid in three. Ahsan Raza and Asif Yaqoob stand in two each. Faisal Khan Aafreedi, Rashid Riaz Waqar and Nasir Hussain stand in one match each.
| Umpire | On-field matches | Third umpire matches |
|---|---|---|
| Wayne Knights | 4 | 3 |
| Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid | 3 | 4 |
| Ahsan Raza | 2 | 0 |
| Asif Yaqoob | 2 | 0 |
| Faisal Khan Aafreedi | 1 | 0 |
| Rashid Riaz Waqar | 1 | 0 |
| Nasir Hussain | 1 | 0 |
These are our counts from the PCB list. Knights and Sharfuddoula swap between the field and the third umpire role, which fits the PCB's note that they take turns in that role.
The same panel list covers the T20Is and the Tests
The PCB's release names the officials for 12 international matches from 9 October to 21 November. Ali Naqvi leads the T20Is. Dean Cosker leads the Test series, which is his Test debut as a referee, with Holdstock, Palekar and Tucker as the umpires.
The Tests are covered in our Test series dates, venues and umpires. The release also names a three-day practice match at Islamabad Club from 4 to 6 November, with Kamran Chaudhary as referee.
