Pakistan U19 start the defence of their Asia Cup title against the UAE on Friday 6 November 2026 in Muscat, Oman, at 10 am Pakistan time. The Asian Cricket Council's own fixture list now shows the 10 am start for every opening group game. Farhan Yousuf captains the same 15 players named on 27 October, and the PCB confirmed the squad again on 4 November.

We read the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) release of 4 November and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) fixture list on 5 November. Below are the time and ground, both squads, Pakistan's path to the semi-finals and what the captain said before the game.

Pakistan play the UAE at 10 am PKT on 6 November

The match starts at 10 am on Friday 6 November. The ACC fixture list shows "10:00 AM PST" for Pakistan U19 v UAE U19 and for every other group game. We read PST there as Pakistan Standard Time, because it matches the 10 am PKT start reported when the squad was named. Oman is one hour behind Pakistan, so the first ball would be at 9 am in Muscat.

Until now our pages called the 10 am start "reported", because no official page showed it. The ACC list is the first official page we have seen with a time. The same list has India U19 v Nepal U19 at the same time on 6 November, so both Group A games run side by side.

One detail differs inside the PCB's own release. Its text says the UAE game is at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground, while its fixture list says OCA Ground 2. The Oman Cricket Academy (OCA) grounds are the ones the board lists for every Pakistan game, so check the ground on match morning if you are going in person.

The tournament starts today with two Group B games

The U19 Asia Cup begins on Thursday 5 November. The ACC list has Bangladesh U19 v Afghanistan U19 and Sri Lanka U19 v Malaysia U19, both in Group B, at 10 am PKT. Group A starts a day later.

Eight teams play in two groups of four, and every match is 50 overs a side. The top two in each group go to the semi-finals on 12 November. The final is on 14 November. The full list of dates is in our U19 Asia Cup 2026 schedule.

Pakistan's 15 are unchanged, led by Farhan Yousuf

The PCB release of 4 November lists the same 15 players announced on 27 October. Farhan Yousuf also captained Pakistan when they beat India by 191 runs in the last final, at the ICC Cricket Academy Ground in Dubai.

The squad: Farhan Yousuf (captain), Abdul Qadir (wicketkeeper), Abdul Subhan, Ahmed Hussain, Ali Raza, Hamza Zahoor (wicketkeeper), Hasnain Abbas Dar, Hayam Khan, Huzaifa Ahsan, Jahangir Bilal, Mohammad Huzaifa, Mohammad Seyam, Niqab Shafiq, Rizwanullah and Usman Khan.

The support staff are led by head coach and team manager Shahid Anwar. Rao Iftikhar Anjum is the fast bowling coach, Zohaib Khan the spin coach and Humayun Farhat the fielding coach. More on how each player was picked is on our page about the Pakistan U19 squad for the Asia Cup.

The UAE are led by Ayaan Misbah. Their 15 players, named by the Emirates Cricket Board on 28 October, are listed with India's and Sri Lanka's in our U19 Asia Cup 2026 squads.

Farhan Yousuf says the early trip to Oman helped

The PCB sent the squad to Oman early so the players could get used to the heat, the pitches and the grounds. Speaking to PCB Digital, Farhan Yousuf said that "the PCB's initiative to send us to Oman ahead of the tournament has been extremely beneficial".

He also said the team is "not taking anything for granted" as defending champions, and that new players have made a strong squad stronger. The UAE game is the one Pakistan are expected to win, which makes it the cheapest place to build net run rate before India.

What Pakistan need to reach the semi-finals

Two teams from each group of four go through. That means a win over the UAE and another over Nepal would usually be enough, even with a loss to India. Here is the simple path:

  1. Beat the UAE on 6 November for the first two points.
  2. Play India on 8 November. A win there almost certainly decides first place.
  3. Beat Nepal on 10 November to finish on at least two wins.
  4. If three teams finish level on wins, the tie-break decides. Big wins over the UAE and Nepal protect Pakistan's net run rate.

The ACC fixture list does not show the tie-break rules, and we have not seen the playing conditions, so step 4 is our reading of how group tables usually work. The India game is covered in our report on the U19 Asia Cup dates and the 8 November India match.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the PCB release "Defending champions Pakistan U19 to begin Asia Cup campaign on Friday", dated Oman, 4 November 2026, on the PCB website, and the fixture list on the Asian Cricket Council website, both on 5 November 2026. The squad, staff, groups, grounds and the captain's words come from the PCB. The dates and the 10 am start come from the ACC list. The semi-final path is our own reading. Pakistan's broader November calendar is on our Pakistan cricket schedule for November 2026.
