Pakistan beat Hong Kong, China on paper on Monday, and India went past Afghanistan the same way. On Tuesday morning, Sri Lanka against Nepal went the same way too, with Sri Lanka through.

The official schedule gives each game a three hour slot. So a full match on Thursday should end by about 8:00 am PKT, which is before most offices open.
The winner plays for gold on Saturday 3 October
Win on Thursday and Pakistan play the gold medal match on Saturday 3 October at 9:30 am PKT. Lose, and they still play for bronze at 5:00 am PKT the same day. Either way, Pakistan's men are guaranteed two games at these Games.
The other semi-final is India against Sri Lanka at 9:30 am PKT on Thursday. So Pakistan and India are in separate halves. They can only meet in the gold medal match.
There is a weather question too. Four washouts in two days is a pattern nobody can ignore. If Thursday's game is also abandoned, the same reported ranking rule would decide it. We did not check the current rankings at source, so we are not predicting which side that would favour.
Pakistan's women already beat Bangladesh at these Games
