Short answer: Pakistan's women have no LA28 place yet, and four of the six places are already gone. Australia, Great Britain (England), India and South Africa took them at the Women's T20 World Cup 2026. The USA may take a fifth as hosts. The last place goes to the 2027 ICC Olympics Qualifier, where Pakistan, eighth in the T20I rankings, are placed to play.

Pakistan's women won Asian Games gold in 2010 and 2014, the PCB records. An Olympic place is a bigger test. Six teams play at Los Angeles in July 2028.

We read the ICC's qualification release of 29 June 2026 and the ICC's women's T20I team rankings table on 12 October 2026. This page follows only those two sources.

Four women's places went at the T20 World Cup

The ICC says Australia, Great Britain through England, India and South Africa qualified at the Women's T20 World Cup 2026. They were the highest-placed eligible finishers from Oceania, Europe, Asia and Africa. Those places were capped at one per continent.

That means a place for Asia went to India, and Pakistan could not take a second Asian place directly. The men's direct places are set the same way.

The fifth place depends on the USA and a 1 March ranking

The USA qualify as hosts if their women's team appear in the top 15 of the ICC T20I rankings at any time from 30 June to 31 December 2026. If they do not, the fifth place goes to the highest-ranked side not yet qualified on 1 March 2027, from any continent.

On the table we opened on 12 October, the top 15 did not list the USA. The window is open until 31 December, so that proves nothing yet. New Zealand lead the non-qualified teams, so they would take that fifth place on today's order.

Pakistan are eighth in the T20I rankings

The ICC women's T20I table puts Pakistan eighth with 212 points. New Zealand are fourth on 249, South Africa fifth on 246, with West Indies sixth and Sri Lanka seventh, both on 238. Pakistan are 26 points behind the two of them.

The 2027 qualifier takes the next highest-ranked teams

The ICC says the ICC Olympics Qualifier 2027 has eight nations in each of the men's and women's events. The other seven are the next highest-ranked teams on the T20I rankings, excluding any side that has qualified. The winner takes the sixth place.

Take out the four qualified sides and New Zealand, and the next teams on today's table are West Indies, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Ireland, Bangladesh and Scotland. On that order, Pakistan are inside the eight. That is our reading, because the ICC has not published the cut-off date.

The ICC says a Caribbean Qualifier will decide which nation represents the West Indies region if the team is among the eight highest-ranked sides not yet qualified on 31 December 2026. West Indies cannot enter as a single team, as they are not an Olympic committee.

What Pakistan's women can do before 2027

Nothing is decided on the field yet. The practical task is to protect the rating and stay clear of the teams below. The PCB's women's series page lists no senior fixture after the Asian Games, so we cannot say when the next rating change will come.

  1. Check the ICC women's T20I table after each series.
  2. Note the gap to Sri Lanka and West Indies, on 238.
  3. Watch for the date on which the qualifier list is fixed.
  4. Watch the ICC for the qualifier's host and dates.
  5. Follow the domestic game, which feeds the national side, in the National Women's T20 Tournament.
