A Pakistani passport in Canada costs CAD 99 for 36 pages and 5 years on normal processing, and CAD 198 for 10 years, at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Toronto. Urgent costs CAD 262.50 and CAD 525. A 72 page book starts at CAD 150 and a 100 page book at CAD 172.50. The fee is paid by debit card at the consulate and is not refundable.

We read the Toronto consulate's passport page and its three fee tables on 25 October 2026. Canada is unusual: the 10 year passport costs exactly double the 5 year one, so there is no saving per year. Below is every row, the papers the consulate asks for, who can collect, and the free passport rule for remittance card holders.

Pakistani passport fee in Canada for 36 pages

Toronto charges CAD 99 for a 36 page passport valid 5 years and CAD 198 for 10 years on normal processing. Urgent costs CAD 262.50 and CAD 525. Each loss doubles the fee again, up to CAD 4,200 for a third loss, urgent, 10 years.

The consulate states all fees are in Canadian dollars. Check the amount on your debit card slip against this table before you leave the counter.

Fees for 72 and 100 page passports in Canada

A 72 page passport costs CAD 150 for 5 years and CAD 300 for 10 years on normal processing, or CAD 390 and CAD 780 urgent. A 100 page passport costs CAD 172.50 and CAD 345 normal, or CAD 457.50 and CAD 915 urgent.

Third losses follow the same doubling: CAD 1,200 to 6,240 for 72 pages and CAD 1,380 to 7,320 for 100 pages. Those figures are on the consulate's page; we have left them out of the table to keep it readable.

In Canada, 10 years saves no money but saves a trip

The 36 page fee works out at CAD 19.80 a year for both the 5 year and the 10 year passport. Unlike London or Frankfurt, Toronto gives no discount for the longer book. The 10 year book still spares you a second appointment and a second biometric visit.

These per year figures are our arithmetic from the consulate's table. Urgent costs more than two and a half times the normal fee: CAD 163.50 extra on a 5 year book. If you can wait, normal is far cheaper. For comparison, the Pakistani passport fee in the USA is set in US dollars by the Washington embassy.

Papers to bring to the Toronto consulate

Adults bring an original valid CNIC or NICOP, the previous passport with copies of the first four pages, and proof of valid status in Canada, such as a Canadian passport, PR card, work permit or study permit, each with a photocopy. Married women must update marital status on the ID card first.

Government and semi-government employees need a NOC (no objection certificate) issued within the last 90 days. A lost passport needs an affidavit giving the old passport number, attested by the consulate. Dual nationals applying for the first time should bring copies of their parents' CNIC or NICOP for verification.

For children, Toronto asks for an updated CRC (Form B) or FRC that carries the child's picture and biometrics; the older paper versions are not accepted. Children aged 10 and over need a juvenile card, NICOP or CRC with picture and biometrics. One parent accompanies the child, and an absent parent sends a notarised consent letter.

  1. Book an appointment on the consulate's appointment site.
  2. Gather your NADRA card, old passport, Canadian status proof and copies.
  3. Attend in person for photo and fingerprints.
  4. Pay by debit card at the counter and keep the receipt.
  5. Collect in person, through a blood relative, or by prepaid Canada Post envelope.
Steps to apply for a Pakistani passport at the Toronto consulate

Who can collect, and the mail option

Only the applicant or a blood relative can collect the passport. Bring the original receipt and the previous passport, plus a handwritten authority letter if the applicant is not coming. If the receipt is lost, only the applicant can collect, in person.

You can also leave a prepaid, self-addressed registered Canada Post envelope at the time of submission, and the consulate will mail the passport at your own risk. Track the printing stage in Pakistan with the usual passport tracking by token and SMS; the consulate also runs its own tracking page.

Remittance card holders get a free passport

The Toronto consulate's FAQ says applicants who hold a valid foreign exchange remittance card can apply for a passport free of charge, on normal processing. The FAQ does not name the card scheme or say how to prove it, so ask the consulate which card it accepts before you book.

The same FAQ confirms other points worth knowing. A child with a CRC issued by NADRA in Pakistan can apply without a NICOP. Both parents' NADRA cards are needed for a child's application. And a change of name, father's name or date of birth must be made on the NADRA card first. If your child has no NADRA record yet, start with the NICOP online application on PakID.

Is the passport free with a remittance card?

Yes, on normal processing, if you hold a valid foreign exchange remittance card, according to the consulate's FAQ.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the Consulate General of Pakistan Toronto's passport page, including its fee tables, collection rules and FAQ, on 25 October 2026. We also read the High Commission in Ottawa's passport page, which shows no fee table, so we could not confirm whether Ottawa, Montreal or Vancouver charge the same. The page gives no processing time. Per year costs are our arithmetic.
