A Pakistani passport in Malaysia costs RM 90 for 36 pages and 5 years on normal processing, and RM 135 for 10 years, at the High Commission for Pakistan in Kuala Lumpur. Urgent costs RM 150 and RM 225. A 72 page book starts at RM 165 and a 100 page book at RM 180. The top fee on the list is RM 2,160, for an urgent 100 page, 10 year passport after a second loss.

We read the High Commission's consular page on 27 October 2026. Below you will find the full table for 36, 72 and 100 pages, the fees after a first and second loss, the papers for adults and children, the walk-in counter steps, and the attestation fees people often need on the same visit.

Pakistani passport fee in Malaysia for 36 pages

Kuala Lumpur charges RM 90 for an ordinary 36 page passport valid 5 years and RM 135 for 10 years. Urgent processing costs RM 150 and RM 225. After a first loss the same book costs RM 180 to RM 450, and after a second loss RM 360 to RM 900.

36 pages5 years10 years
NormalRM 90RM 135
UrgentRM 150RM 225
First loss, normalRM 180RM 270
First loss, urgentRM 300RM 450
Second loss, normalRM 360RM 540
Second loss, urgentRM 600RM 900

You pay before you queue. The first step at the counter is to show the fee deposit receipt, so arrive with it in hand rather than planning to pay inside.

Fees for 72 and 100 page passports in Malaysia

A 72 page passport costs RM 165 for 5 years and RM 245 for 10 years on normal processing, or RM 270 and RM 405 urgent. A 100 page passport costs RM 180 and RM 270 normal, or RM 360 and RM 540 urgent.

Passport5 years10 years
72 pages, normal or urgentRM 165 or RM 270RM 245 or RM 405
72 pages, first lossRM 330 or RM 540RM 490 or RM 810
72 pages, second lossRM 660 or RM 1,080RM 980 or RM 1,620
100 pages, normal or urgentRM 180 or RM 360RM 270 or RM 540
100 pages, first lossRM 360 or RM 720RM 540 or RM 1,050
100 pages, second lossRM 720 or RM 1,440RM 1,080 or RM 2,160

One figure breaks the pattern. Every first loss fee is double the normal fee, except the urgent 100 page, 10 year book, which is listed at RM 1,050 rather than RM 1,080. We report it as printed. Ask at the counter which figure applies before you pay. A third or fourth loss is not priced at all; those cases go to the Ministry of Interior in Islamabad for approval.

The 10 year passport costs RM 13.50 a year

At RM 135 for 10 years, a 36 page passport works out to RM 13.50 a year. The 5 year book at RM 90 costs RM 18 a year. For any adult who expects to stay in Malaysia, 10 years is cheaper and saves a second trip.

The same logic holds at home, where the 10 year passport fee in Pakistan also costs less per year than 5. Children under 15 do not get the choice; missions issue them 5 year books only.

Papers to bring to the High Commission in Kuala Lumpur

Adults bring the fee receipt, the previous Pakistani passport and one valid NADRA card, meaning a CNIC, NICOP or Smart National ID Card, each with a photocopy. No form and no photograph are needed. The High Commission captures the photo and fingerprints itself.

Married women need a card that already shows the husband's name. If yours does not, the card has to be modified first, which the steps to update a CNIC after marriage explain. Pakistani government employees bring an original NOC issued within the last 90 days.

For children under 18, bring the child's NICOP or CRC (Form B), both parents' original passports and NADRA cards, and a detailed birth certificate with both parents' names. A parent or guardian must come along. Separated or divorced parents need the court order that gives custody.

  1. Pay the passport fee and keep the deposit receipt.
  2. Show the receipt, NADRA card and old passport to get a queue number.
  3. Go to Counter 1 for your photo, without glasses, and fingerprints.
  4. Go to Counter 2, read the data form carefully and sign it.
  5. Collect the new passport on the date you are given.
Steps to apply for a Pakistani passport at the High Commission in Kuala Lumpur

No appointment, but no representatives either

Kuala Lumpur works first come, first served, so you do not book a slot. But the passport cannot be issued or renewed by post or through a representative. You must attend in person, and no change can be made to an existing passport.

If a detail on your passport is wrong, the High Commission will not amend it. You apply for a new passport instead, and the data comes from NADRA. So fix a misspelt name or date of birth on your NADRA card before you arrive. For a renewal only, the DGIP online renewal portal is another route that skips the counter.

If your passport is lost, bring the Declaration of Lost Passport form with your other papers. The online lost passport route for overseas Pakistanis explains how DGIP handles that case from abroad.

Attestation fees at the same counter

Many people renewing a passport also need a document attested. Kuala Lumpur charges RM 45 for an affidavit or educational certificate, RM 65 for a CRC or driving licence NOC, and RM 150 for a power of attorney. Same-day processing is listed.

DocumentFee
Affidavit, authority letter, undertakingRM 45 (US$10)
Educational certificate, birth or death certificate, Nikah NamaRM 45 (US$10)
Child Registration Certificate, marriage NOC, driving licence NOCRM 65 (US$15)
Malaysian documentsRM 105 (US$25)
Power of attorney, transfer of residence, divorce noticeRM 150 (US$35)

Documents from Pakistan must first be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad or its camp offices. Submission runs 09:00 to 13:00 Monday to Thursday and 09:00 to 12:00 on Friday, with delivery from 15:00 to 16:00. Once the passport is printed, the usual passport tracking by token shows its progress.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the High Commission for Pakistan Kuala Lumpur's consular services page, with its passport fee structure and attestation fee list, on 27 October 2026. The page does not state processing times for passports, and it does not explain the RM 1,050 figure that breaks the doubling pattern. Online renewal runs through the DGIP online passport portal. Per year costs are our arithmetic.
