PCB Cricket Ticket Refund Rules for Rain and Washouts in Pakistan: Two Policies, 100% to Nothing
The PCB publishes two ticket refund policies. See what you get back if rain stops play before the toss, after 5 overs or after 10, and how to claim in Pakistan.

Short answer: The PCB publishes two ticket refund documents, and they differ. One pays 100% before the toss, then 75%, 50% or nothing by overs bowled. The other, which covers all PCB and PSL matches in Pakistan, refunds only matches cancelled before the toss, plus moved matches if you cannot attend. Check which one applies when you buy.
October rain is rare in Rawalpindi and Lahore. It does happen, and a Rs 500 seat is a lot to lose on a wet evening.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) lists two refund documents on its documents page, under Ticketing. We downloaded both PDFs on 12 October 2026 and read them in full. We note below where they disagree, because the board has not said which one governs the tri-series.
One policy sets refund bands by overs bowled
The "Match Ticket Refund Policy" sets four bands. A washout before the toss, or no play on the ticket's day, earns a full refund. Play under 5 overs in an innings earns 75%. Five completed overs but under 10 in total earns 50%. Ten overs or more earns nothing.
| What happened | Refund claimable |
|---|---|
| Washed out, toss not taken | 100% |
| No play at the ground on the day on your ticket | 100% |
| Play restricted to less than 5 overs in one innings | 75% |
| 5 completed overs but less than 10 overs in total | 50% |
| 10 overs or more in total | No refund |
The document says "cumulative", which means both innings added together. A match cut short after 6 overs of the first innings and 2 of the second has 8 overs in total. That is the 50% band, going by the wording.
This document is headed for the PSL. It also says a lost or unused ticket is not refunded, and neither is a match that finishes early in the normal course of play.

The second policy refunds only cancelled and moved matches
The "PCB/PSL Ticket Refund Policy" says it applies to all matches at the PCB and PSL held in Pakistan. It refunds the face value only if a match is cancelled before the toss. If the match is rescheduled or moved to another venue, you can claim only if you cannot attend.
| Situation | Second policy says |
|---|---|
| Cancelled before the toss, any reason including weather | Full face value, with the original undamaged ticket |
| Rescheduled or postponed, you cannot attend | Face value, or an amount the PCB decides |
| Venue changed, you cannot attend | Face value, or an amount the PCB decides |
| Hospitality ticket, match cancelled | No refund, even before the toss |

This second document has no bands for a shortened game. If play starts and then stops, it does not say you get anything back. The first document does.
The two documents disagree on hospitality seats
The first policy refunds a hospitality ticket in full if the match is washed out and the ticket was never validated. The second says no hospitality ticket is refunded when a match is cancelled. We cannot tell you which one the PCB will apply, so ask the seller first.
The first document uses the word "validated", which most likely means scanned at the entry gate. It does not define the word.
Claims open after the match, on the PCB's announcement
The first policy says the PCB will announce refund dates and the procedure within 5 days of the match. The second says refunds are processed within 14 business days of the PCB's official refund announcement.
- Keep the full ticket, undamaged, or the e-ticket and order confirmation number.
- Watch the PCB's media releases and social accounts for the refund announcement.
- Follow the claim process in that announcement, using the channel you bought from.
- Apply as the original buyer, because refunds go only to the person who bought the ticket.
- Expect no refund of extra fees, and no interest, as the second policy says.

Where you bought matters for step three. Cash buyers use a TCS Express Centre, as set out in how to buy PCB tickets in cash at TCS centres.
Check the rule before you buy for the tri-series
Neither document names the tri-series between Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka. The second says it covers all PCB matches in Pakistan, so it most likely applies. The first is the PSL's. The PCB has not said which one will govern, and neither document carries a date.
Before you buy for the tri-series in Rawalpindi and Lahore, ask TCS on 021-111-123456. Write down what you are told.
The Tests need the same check. They run for five days and TCS sells them per day, so a one-day band table does not map neatly onto them.
For a match day, the entry rules matter as much as the refund. The Gaddafi Stadium guide sets out the CNIC checks and banned items for the Lahore games.
Common questions
Do I get a full refund if rain stops the toss?
Yes, under both documents. Each pays the full face value when the match is cancelled before the toss, with the ticket in good condition.
What if only 4 overs were played?
The first document pays 75% if play was under 5 overs in an innings. The second document gives no refund once the toss has happened and the match is not cancelled, so ask TCS which applies.
Is there a refund after 10 overs?
Not under the first document. Ten overs or more in total means no refund.
Can I get money back for a lost ticket?
The first document excludes lost and unused tickets. The second needs the original ticket, undamaged, so a lost one cannot be claimed.
How long does a refund take?
The second document says 14 business days from the PCB's official refund announcement.
Will I get my booking fee back?
No. The second document says extra fees and charges paid on top of the face value are not refunded, and no interest is paid.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Checked on 12 October 2026. Sources: the "Match Ticket Refund Policy" and the "PCB PSL Ticket Refund Policy" PDFs, both listed under Ticketing on the PCB important documents page, and the TCS ticket site pcb.tcs.com.pk. Neither PDF is dated, and the PCB has not said which one governs the tri-series. The PCB may publish a separate notice for the international matches, so look for it on the same page.
