PIA plans to fly to London Heathrow seven times a week from 27 October 2026: five flights from Islamabad and two from Lahore. That is up from four a week now. The plan was announced by PIA's spokesperson in early September, as reported at the time, but PIA's own website did not carry it when we checked on 3 October.

What PIA's website does confirm is the base. PIA has flown from Heathrow Terminal 4 since 29 March 2026. Its direct Lahore to London flight started on 30 March 2026 and takes about 8 hours.

So treat the winter timetable as announced, not final. Before you book, search your exact date on PIA's booking page. If a flight shows there, it is on sale. If it does not, it is not running that day.

PIA plans 7 London flights a week from 27 October 2026

From 27 October, PIA is reported to run five weekly Islamabad and London flights and two weekly Lahore and London flights. That gives one flight a day between Pakistan and London, a 75 per cent rise from four flights a week.

Reports differ on one detail. Most give 27 October as the start. A schedule tracker that follows airline filings lists the change from 25 October, the first day of the winter flying season. The two dates are close, but if you plan to fly on 25 or 26 October, check the booking page rather than either report.

The reported aircraft is the Boeing 777. PIA's website does not name the aircraft for London.

The reported flying days for each city

Reports of the new timetable list flights from London to Islamabad on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and from London to Lahore on Thursday and Sunday. PIA has not published these days itself, so confirm your exact date on its booking page before you plan around it.

These are the London departure days. The flights from Pakistan to London leave on their own pattern, which the reports do not set out clearly. That is one more reason to search the booking page for the direction you need.

Families in Lahore and nearby districts get the biggest change in relative terms. Two flights a week means one missed flight costs you three or four days, not a full week.

How to book a PIA London flight and check the fare

Book on piac.com.pk, a PIA ticket office or a travel agent. On the website, choose Lahore or Islamabad, then London Heathrow, and pick your date. PIA says web fares are for website sales only, and a ticket office may charge a different fare.

  1. Open piac.com.pk and choose a one-way or return trip.
  2. Pick Islamabad or Lahore, and London Heathrow (LHR). PIA does not list any other London airport.
  3. Search your date, then the dates either side, to see which days the flight runs.
  4. Check the baggage allowance shown with each fare before you pay.
  5. Pay by card. You can also hold the booking and pay later through My Booking, within the time limit the system shows.

We tried to read live London fares on PIA's booking engine on 3 October 2026. Its security screen blocked our automated check, so we do not quote a fare here. Fares change by date and by how full the flight is, and any number we printed would go stale within days.

The payment, change and refund rules are the same as for any PIA web ticket. They are set out in full under PIA ticket booking and refunds online, including the 3 to 5 working day refund for a full web ticket.

Check-in and baggage for PIA London flights

PIA's online check-in covers only domestic flights between eight Pakistani cities, so London passengers check in at the airport counter. PIA's cabin bag limit is 7 kg. Your checked allowance is printed on the ticket and depends on the fare you buy.

The PIA online check-in rules list the eight domestic cities, and London is not one of them. Leave proper time at the counter, especially with large suitcases or boxes.

PIA baggage rules that matter on London flights: 7 kg cabin bag, 32 kg carton limit and extra piece charge

Three of PIA's baggage rules matter most on this route:

  • Cabin bag: 7 kg, within 115 cm in total size, in Economy.
  • Carton boxes: up to 140 cm and 32 kg each, within your free allowance.
  • An extra piece within your free weight costs a 4 kg excess baggage ticket on routes other than the USA and Canada, so London included.

Compare these with other carriers under airline baggage allowance in Pakistan if you are weighing a direct PIA flight against a connection through the Gulf.

Documents and help at Heathrow Terminal 4

PIA flies from Heathrow Terminal 4. Carry a valid passport and the right UK visa for your trip. If a bag goes missing on arrival, PIA lists a London station contact on its Heathrow operation page, separate from its Islamabad and Lahore baggage offices.

Students and workers should match the visa to the purpose of travel. The rules differ for a UK student visa from Pakistan and for skilled work. Check your passport's expiry date too. Pakistan is reported to be moving to e-passports only from 15 October, though existing machine readable passports are reported to stay valid.

For delayed or missing bags, report it at the airport before you leave the arrivals hall. Then follow the steps to claim lost baggage, keeping the tag number from your ticket.

On the day of travel, PIA's contact centre is (+92-21) 111-786-786. For a flight that is cancelled, retimed or leaves within three hours, PIA lists +92-330-0786-786.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 3 October 2026. The Heathrow Terminal 4 operation from 29 March 2026 and the London station contacts were read on PIA's London Heathrow Operation page. The Lahore to London direct flight from 30 March 2026 and its 8 hour flying time were read in PIA's Lahore to London announcement. Web fares, hold and pay later, and the contact numbers were read in PIA's frequently asked questions. The cabin bag, carton and extra piece rules were read in PIA's baggage guide. The seven-flight winter plan from 27 October, the split by city, the flying days, the current four flights and the aircraft are reported from early September 2026 and were not on PIA's website. We could not read fares because PIA's booking engine blocked our automated check.
