PPSC is hiring 1,958 female Charge Nurses in BS-16 for the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department. You need a nursing degree or diploma with Pakistan Nursing Council registration. The upper age limit is 36 years.
The split is 1,801 open merit posts, 59 for the special persons quota and 98 for the minority quota. It is open to women and female transgender candidates with a Punjab domicile, for posting anywhere in Punjab.
You qualify with either of these:
- B.Sc. Nursing Generic (four years) with valid Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC) registration, or
- Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery with valid PNC registration.
Graduates of government institutions get preference. There is also a useful rule for new nurses. If you applied to PNC for registration on or before 5 October, you can still be held eligible, even if your card arrives later. You must then show stamped proof from PNC of the date you applied. If your registration expired and you apply for renewal after the closing date, you are also held eligible.
This is separate from the Punjab government's announced plan to hire 40,000 doctors and health staff. The advertisement does not say whether these posts count towards that figure.
Engineers, planners and vets need a valid council registration
The three BS-17 posts each need a degree plus registration with the matching professional council. PPSC checks that registration against the closing date, 5 October 2026, so a registration that arrives later can cost you the post.
- Assistant Director (Engg): B.Sc. Engineering in Civil Engineering, with valid permanent Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) registration issued on or before the closing date. Age 21 to 33 for men and 21 to 36 for women.
- Assistant Director (TP): B.Sc. City and Regional Planning, registered with the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP) on or before the closing date. Age 21 to 40 for men and 21 to 43 for women.
- Veterinary Officer: a DVM degree with valid Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council registration up to the closing date. If it has expired, you need proof you applied for renewal by the closing date. Age 21 to 35 for men and 21 to 38 for women.

Age limits already include PPSC's general relaxation
The ages in this advertisement already add a relaxation of 5 years for men and 8 years for women. So a woman applying for Charge Nurse can be up to 36. Check your age on both dates PPSC uses, explained below.
The advertisement prints each limit as a sum, such as "21 to 28 + 08 = 36 years". PPSC's Important Instructions, dated 16 January 2026, explain the extra years. Under a 2012 Punjab government notification, departments give up to 5 years for men and 5 plus 3 years for women, and this appears in the advertisement itself.
The same instructions give two dates for counting age. It is 1 January of the exam year where recruitment is through a written examination, and the closing date in other cases. Their worked examples tie 1 January to competitive examinations, so the date for a one paper test like this is not fully clear. If you are close to the limit on either date, ask PPSC on 042-111-988-722 first. The instructions also give specially abled candidates 15 more years on the upper limit. Being over age by even one day makes you ineligible.
How to apply for Advertisement 10/2026 before 5 October
Apply online at ppsc.gop.pk, generate a PSID, pay Rs 600 through any 1Link channel or a mobile wallet, upload your photo and CNIC, add your qualifications, and submit. The online form closes on 5 October 2026.
- Open ppsc.gop.pk, go to Jobs, and find your case number under Advertisement 10/2026.
- Start the online form with your own CNIC, email and mobile number. These cannot be changed later.
- Generate the PSID and pay Rs 600 by ATM, mobile or internet banking, a 1Link bank branch, JazzCash, EasyPaisa or U Paisa.
- Upload a recent passport size photo on a white background and the front of your CNIC.
- Add every qualification, then submit and save the application number and token number.
The form, photo rules and roll number slip work the same way as for any other PPSC online application. The Rs 600 fee is for one post only. If you apply for two posts, you pay twice, and the fee is not refunded.
A few rules in the advertisement catch people at interview. Government servants need a departmental NOC or permission. Private sector experience needs proof that the firm was registered with SECP or another regulator. A foreign or equivalent degree needs an equivalence certificate from HEC. And you must show marks or percentage certificates, because PPSC does not accept CGPA. PPSC also says any information not on its own website is not authentic, so ignore test dates shared on social media.
Federal and other provincial commissions also take the fee through a PSID when you apply for government jobs online, so the payment step will look familiar.
