How to Apply for Government Jobs Online in Pakistan

Pakistan's public service commissions take applications online, each on its own website. FPSC, PPSC and SPSC accept them online only. For federal jobs, apply at fpsc.gov.pk. FPSC's fee is Rs 600 for BS-16 and BS-17 posts, paid by a 16-digit PSID through 1Link. Provincial jobs go through the commission of your province. Each address below loaded when we tested it on 22 September 2026.

A commission recruits for the government posts it advertises. It is not a job board. Always start from the commission's own site, check the advertisement, then apply before the closing date.

Official commission websites we tested

Two things that catch people out. Punjab uses .gop.pk and Balochistan uses .gob.pk. Both are correct. A site ending in .com or .pk alone, with "PPSC" or "FPSC" in its name, is not the commission.

For Gilgit-Baltistan, FPSC's own mission statement says it recruits for the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan as well as the federal government. We tried gbpsc.gov.pk and gbpsc.gog.pk and neither responded, so check FPSC's advertisements for GB posts.

How to apply for an FPSC job online

FPSC's guidelines, updated 9 September 2025, split the process into two steps with a payment between them. We read the full document.

1. On fpsc.gov.pk, choose Apply Online, then General Recruitment. Pick the post from the list.
2. Read the requirements that appear. Only apply if you meet the qualification, age, gender, domicile and experience rules. The form only lists the domiciles and genders the post allows.
3. Enter your CNIC and wait for the message that you can apply.
4. Fill Step 1: name, domicile, gender, religion, test and interview centres, and the result date of your qualifying degree. Government employees also enter their DPC or NOC number.
5. Press Generate PSID and Challan. You get a 16-digit PSID.
6. Pay the PSID through an ATM, a mobile banking app, internet banking or any 1Link member bank branch. Use the "1Link 1Bill Invoice/Voucher" option.
7. Go back to Apply Online, select the same post and enter your CNIC. The system shows your payment. Press Proceed to Step 2.
8. Upload a passport-size photo in jpg or jpeg under 30 KB, then add your personal details, education and experience.
9. Tick the undertaking and press Submit Your Application. Save the Tracking ID and print the application.

Paying the fee does not submit your application. FPSC says clearly that you must finish Step 2 and see the message "Your Application has been submitted successfully".

FPSC fees and payment rules

FPSC's guidelines list these fees:

• BS-16 and BS-17: Rs 600
• BS-18: Rs 1,500
• BS-19: Rs 2,500
• BS-20 and above: Rs 3,000

FPSC's fee notice of 5 September 2025 adds these rules:

• Each post needs its own PSID. The CNIC stays the same.
• A PSID is valid until the closing date of the advertisement.
• The fee is not refundable.
• The old TR-6 challan, cheques, bank drafts and pay orders are not accepted. Many older guides still tell you to deposit a challan at a National Bank branch. That method has ended.
• If you paid but the system does not move forward, contact the bank or app you paid through.

After final submission, you can edit an FPSC application only once, and only before the closing date.

Provincial commissions: how each one differs

Each province runs its own process, fees and exams. The main differences:

• Punjab (PPSC). Rs 600 for a one-paper test and Rs 1,000 for competitive exams, paid by PSID. Roll number slips are uploaded for all candidates together.
• Sindh (SPSC). Applications only online, with a PSID fee. It also runs the provincial civil service exam, CCE 2026, known as PMS Sindh.
• Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPPSC). You make an online account at apply.kppsc.gov.pk. KPPSC publishes video guides on its site, and lists office numbers 091-9211795, 091-9213827 and 091-9214131.
• Balochistan (BPSC). Apply at bpsc.gob.pk/apply_now. The site has a roll number search by CNIC and a PDF guide on applying online.
• AJK. The AJK commission lists its current advertisement and a Fill Application Online link on ajkpsc.gov.pk.

Government jobs that are not advertised through a commission

Some posts, often lower grades and contract jobs, are advertised directly by ministries and departments rather than a commission. For federal posts, the National Job Portal at njp.gov.pk lists posts from federal ministries, divisions and bodies. On 22 September 2026 its front page showed 160+ active jobs from 222+ departments. Its help lines are 051-9265411 and 051-9265062.

Police constable posts are recruited by each province's police. For work abroad, never pay a private agent without checking its licence first.

Warning about fake job sites and fees

A commission never asks you to pay into a personal JazzCash or Easypaisa account. Fees go only through a PSID made on the commission's own site. Be careful with any site that asks for your CNIC and a fee to "apply for you". The FPSC form asks for your CNIC issue date, so keep the card valid.

If you have a disability, check the advertisement for a reserved quota. SPSC advertises one, and PPSC does not charge specially abled candidates a fee. Proof is usually a disability certificate or special CNIC.
